  • A novel method to control the viewing direction by moving aperture location in 4-f illumination optics to control light direction is proposed. Based on integral imaging principle, the relayed point light sources by 4-f optics are modulated by a spatial light modulator, displaying three-dimensional images. In the proposed method, we locate the aperture, which acts as a band pass filter, around an optic axis to control the light direction. Resultantly, assuming that we know the viewer position by a tracking system, we can display appropriate three-dimensional images over large viewing angle.

  • Reticle seekers temporally modulate target location onto the incoming spatial signal. When large or multiple targets are present in the FOV, however, it is hard to precisely modulate the incoming target signal by the relicle. To solve this loss of modulatoin depth problem, we present an improved retical seeker using the segmented focal plane array(FPA). The new reticle system uses the normalized difference as well as the modulated signal of each detector output in the segmented FPA. In simulation, we have ascertained the proposed system can make an effective analysis and tracking for multiple or large targets.

  • Nowadays, ultrasound Doppler imaging is widely used in assessing cardiovascular functions in the human body. However, a major drawback of ultrasonic Doppler methods is that they can provide information on blood flow velocity along the ultrasound beam propagation direction only. Thus, the blood flow velocity is estimated differently depending on the angle between the ultrasound beam and the flow direction. In order to overcome this limitation, there have been many researches devoted to estimating both axial and lateral velocities. The purpose of this article is to survey various two-dimensional velocity estimation methods in the context of Doppler imaging. Some velocity vector estimation methods can also be applied to determine tissue motion as required in elastography. The discussion is mainly concerned with the case of estimating a two-dimensional in-plane velocity vector involving the axial and lateral directions.

  • In large commercial facilities, customer movements have a close interrelation between space structure and interior environment elements. With the importance of the spacial structure, VMD strategy has recently played greater role In the interior environment image to satisfy customers' needs. This study intends to examine the relationship among customer behavior, customer movement, and VMD by grasping customers shopping behavior characteristics that come from the relatively comprehensive factors in the female sections of the department stores through the environmental image that is composed of spatial and emotional elements. This study also serves the purpose that by tracking shopping time, shopping speed, and the ratio of shopping depth that directly reflects customer behavior characteristics, various causes, either general or specific, which can affect the decision on purchase are to be examined. Based on this research results, we bring up the basic data and foundation for floor MD plan, establishment of movement plan, and VMD plan at a store.

  • This paper presents a co-located and mobile interaction technique using smartphones in a global space. To effectively detect the locations and orientations of smartphones, the proposed approach utilizes Kinect that captures RGB image as well as 3D depth information. Based on the locations and orientations of smartphones, the proposed approach can support direct, collaborative and private interactions with the global space. Thus, it can provide more effective mobile interactions for local space exploration and collaboration.

  • This article suggests an inverse kinematics analysis of a two degree of freedom spatial parallel motion simulator and design methodology of the robust PID controller. The parallel motion simulator consists of a fixed base and a moving frame connected by two serial chains, with each serial chain containing one revolute joint and two passive spherical joint. First, an inverse kinematics problems are solved in order to find the joint variable necessary to bring the end effector to track the desired trajectory. Second, an inverse optimal PID controller is proposed to track trajectories in the face of uncertainty. And the $H_{\infty}$ optimality and robust stability of the closed-loop system is acquired through the PID controller. Finally numerical results show the effectiveness of the PID controller that is designed by square/linear tuning laws.

  • This paper describes the development of Target Simulator developed for performance test and failure detection of Imaging Infra-Red(IIR) seeker which is one of the most important equipments in specific cruise missile systems. The simulator makes it possible to test detecting and tracking performance for target, uniformity of IIR, FOV status and spatial resolving power. Besides, it includes several self-test functions and optic axis alignment methods to improve its own reliability.

  • This paper presents an effective method for detecting vehicles in front of the camera-assisted car during nighttime driving. The proposed method detects vehicles based on detecting vehicle headlights and taillights using techniques of image segmentation and clustering. First, in order to effectively extract spotlight of interest, a pre-signal-processing process based on camera lens filter and labeling method is applied on road-scene images. Second, to spatial clustering vehicle of detecting lamps, a grouping process use light tracking method and locating vehicle lighting patterns. For simulation, we are implemented through Da-vinci 7437 DSP board with visible light mono-camera and tested it in urban and rural roads. Through the test, classification performances are above 89% of precision rate and 94% of recall rate evaluated on real-time environment.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop simulations that can be used for virtual education in dentistry. This development goal is to allow dental students to learn the necessary surgical techniques at the point of their choice, not going into the operating room, away from time, space, and physical limits. In this paper configuration, the optimization method is applied convergent, and when the operation of the VR contents is performed, the content data is extracted from the interaction analysis formed in the VR engine, and the data is processed by the content algorithm. It also computes events and dental operations generated within the 3D engine programming and generates corresponding events through data processing according to the input signal. The visualization information is output to the HMD using the rendering information. In addition, the operating room environment was constructed by studying lighting and material for actual operating room environment. We applied the ratio of actual space to virtual space and the ratio between character and actual person to create a spatial composition at a similar rate to actual space.
