학교강당의 평면적 특징에 따른 대피효율에 관한 연구 (Evacuation Efficiency on School Auditorium Floor Layout)

  • This study compared evacuation effectiveness between the conventional school auditorium plan and a suggested hypothetical plan that was generated by a mathematical model, which is commonly applied in the field of industrial engineering. Recent school buildings became much more complicated in floor planning due to new social needs and modern curriculum than the old days. Nevertheless, architect's approach to floor composition in terms of fire emergency evacuation planning, still has no relation to optimized effective but relies more on an conventional school planning. Therefore, since school buildings are much more likely to be exposed to any fire related events than any other building types, emergency exit effectiveness based on spatial composition has to be seriously evaluated with a scientific method. The algorithm, which acquires the number of persons in each spatial type(node) per floor and the minimum physical distance between spatial types(arc), can propose the most optimized spatial layout per floor regarding emergency evacuation event. Consequently, this study evaluated school's fire exit effectiveness focusing on auditorium area with the scientific tool and suggested the most reliable spatial layout regarding possibile emergency evacuation event.

  • Optimization methods are presented for design of shells and spatial structures. The effectiveness of using optimization techniques are demonstrated by the following examples: 1. Shape design of ribbed shells. 2. Shape design of membrane structures. 3. Optimization of single-layer spatial truss against buckling. 4. Application of heuristic methods to optimization of space frames. The readers may first see the numerical results to find that is possible by optimization. In the appendix, overview of structural optimization in architectural design is presented, and effectiveness of optimization is demonstrated by small examples. Each chapter is a part of a published paper, or translation from a Japanese article. So there might be some difficulties for understanding the details: inconsistency of the story, etc., which the author hope not to lead to major difficulties for understanding the concepts and results.

  • As cities face increasing problems such as aging, environmental pollution and growth limits, we have been trying to incorporate sustainability into urban planning and related policies. However, it is very difficult to generate a 'sustainable spatial plans' because there are trade-offs among environmental, society, and economic values. This is a kind of non-linear problem, and has limitations to be solved by existing qualitative expert knowledge. Many researches from abroad have used the meta heuristic optimization algorithms such as Genetic Algorithms(GAs), Simulated Annealing(SA), Ant Colony Optimization(ACO) and so on to synthesize competing values in spaces. GAs is the most frequently applied theory and have been known to produce 'good-enough plans' in a reasonable time. Therefore we collected the research on 'spatial optimization model based GAs' and analyzed in terms of 'study area', 'optimization objective', 'fitness function', and 'effectiveness/efficiency'. We expect the results of this study can suggest that 'what problems the spatial optimization model can be applied to' and 'linkage possibility with existing planning methodology'.

  • The comparison between the spatial and temporal variability of aridity index, precipitation effectiveness and runoff during El-Nino and La-Nina periods and that of the normal period was conducted to evaluate the regional impacts of El-Nino, La-Nina in hydrologic variables. Aridity index and precipitation effectiveness were estimated using 59 nationwide weather stations data and runoff data of WAMIS were used. The ratio of the difference between El-Nino, La-Nina year value and that of normal year was analyzed. Temporal variation demonstrated that aridity index, precipitation effectiveness and run-off discharge increase in March, April, August, November, December and decrease in February, June, September, October according to El-Nino effect. Aridity index, precipitation effectiveness and run-off discharge increase in March, May, September and decrease in June, August, November, December according to La-Nina effect. The spatial variation of those variables analyzed for different basins showed that impacts in the Han river basin relatively higher than that of other basins.

  • Clustering Unlabeled Spatial-datasets to convert them to Labeled Spatial-datasets is a challenging task specially for geographical information systems. In this research study we investigated the NYC Taxi Limousine Commission dataset and discover that all of the spatial-temporal trajectory are unlabeled Spatial-datasets, which is in this case it is not suitable for any data mining tasks, such as classification and regression. Therefore, it is necessary to convert unlabeled Spatial-datasets into labeled Spatial-datasets. In this research study we are going to use the Clustering Technique to do this task for all the Trajectory datasets. A key difficulty for applying machine learning classification algorithms for many applications is that they require a lot of labeled datasets. Labeling a Big-data in many cases is a costly process. In this paper, we show the effectiveness of utilizing a Clustering Technique for labeling spatial data that leads to a high-accuracy classifier.

오염농도의 공간적 분포를 고려한 도시림의 대기정화기능 계량화 (A Quantitative Analysis of Air Purification Effectiveness on Urban Forest Considering the Spatial Distribution of Pollutant Concentration)

  • 본 연구는 도시의 대기환경과 관련하여 도시림의 정화 기능을 평가해보고 개선방안에 대해 고찰해 보는 것이 목적이다. 대기오염은 도시화가 특히 심화되어 있는 지역일수록 심각하기 때문에 우리나라의 대도시 중 하나인 대구광역시를 대상으로 도시림의 대기정화기능을 추정하였다. 오염물질의 흡수량을 산정함에 있어 기존에는 고려되지 못했던 오염농도의 공간적 차이를 적용하였으며, 크리깅을 통해 대기확산모델링 자료의 해상도를 향상시켰다. 도시림의 유형 및 분포를 파악해 본 결과, 대상지역 도시림 내의 식생군락은 총 26개 유형이었으며, 소나무군락, 소나무-신갈군락, 소나무-상수리군락 등 다양한 수종이 분포하고 있었다. 도시림의 대기정화기능을 알아보고자 $CO_2$의 흡수량을 파악해 본 결과, 연간 흡수량은 총 108,155t/yr인 것으로 분석되었다. 도시림의 대기오염물질 흡수량의 경우 $SO_2$ 흡수량은 총 183.5t/yr이었으며, $NO_2$ 흡수량은 총 410.2t/yr인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 오염농도에 대한 공간적 분포를 고려하지 않아 확인이 불가능했던 농도에 따른 흡수량의 차이를 확인해 볼 수 있었다.

  • Most general content-based image retrieval techniques use color and texture as retrieval indices. Spatial information is not used to color histogram and color pair based on color retrieval techniques. This paper proposes the selection of a set of representative in the duplicated color histogram, the analysis of spatial information of the selected colors and the image retrieval process based on the duplicated color histogram and spatial information. Two color historgrams for background and object are used in order to decide on color selection in the duplicated color histogram. Spatial information is obtained using a maximum entropy discretization. A retrieval process applies to duplicated color histogram and spatial to retrieve input images and relevant images. As the result of experiment of the image retrieval, improved color his togram and spatial information method hs increased the retrieval effectiveness more the color histogram method and color pair method.

클라우드 컴퓨팅 기반 공간분석의 연산 효율성 분석 (Evaluating Computational Efficiency of Spatial Analysis in Cloud Computing Platforms)

  • 휴대용 기기와 다양한 위치 기반 서비스의 확산으로 공간데이터의 양적 팽창이 가속화됨에 따라 대용량의 공간데이터를 효율적으로 다룰 수 있는 기술의 중요성이 점차 커지고 있다. 클라우드 컴퓨팅은 인터넷을 통해 스토리지, 메모리, 애플리케이션 등 다양한 전산 자원을 공유할 수 있는 서비스 환경으로, 최근 이를 활용해 대용량의 공간데이터를 처리, 분석하는 방법과 그 필요성에 관한 연구가 활발히 수행되어 왔다. 그러나 아직까지 대용량 공간데이터의 분석에 클라우드 컴퓨팅 플랫폼을 활용했을 때 어느 정도의 성능 향상을 기대할 수 있는지에 대한 실증적 연구는 비교적 많이 이루어지지 않았으며, 본 연구의 목표는 이러한 논의의 공백을 채우는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구에서는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 플랫폼에서 병렬 연산을 사용했을 때 모란지수와 지리가중회귀분석의 연산 속도가 어느 정도 향상되는지 살펴보았으며, 그 결과를 통해 클라우드 컴퓨팅을 활용한 공간분석의 효율성을 평가하였다. 실험 결과, 중앙처리장치의 클록 수가 더 높은 로컬 컴퓨터에 비해 병렬 연산에 적합한 환경을 갖춘 공용 클라우드 컴퓨팅 플랫폼에서 좀 더 효율적인 연산이 가능했으며, 데이터의 규모가 클수록 격차가 더욱 크게 나타났다.

  • 공간적 미스매치 문제는 수요부족형 실업문제와는 달리 기업의 노력과 국가경제의 회복만으로는 개선이 어려우며, 근본적으로 공간구조적인 개선이 필요하다는 특징을 가진다. 본 연구는 이러한 측면에서 구조적 실업, 특히 공간적 미스매치로 인한 실업의 문제를 살펴보고, 이를 해결하기 위한 시사점을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 우선적으로 공간적 미스매치가 전체 실업 중에 차지하는 양상을 확인함으로서 공간 미스매치의 실태에 대해 간접적으로 확인하였다. 또한 이러한 공간미스매치 문제 해소를 위한 대표적인 수단인 지역노동시장을 직종별로 획정하고, 이러한 지역노동시장이 공간 미스매치를 개선하는데 있어 효율적인지를 검토함으로서 이의 효용성을 확인하고자 하였다. 끝으로 본 연구의 분석을 통해 일자리 관련 정책을 추진함에 있어 개별 지역 정책과 일자리 창출 정책 외에도 지역 간 연계를 통한 공간적 매칭 등 다차원적인 정책 개발이 필요하다는 것을 시사하고자 하였다.
