노랫말에 나타난 한국인의 음풍경 인식 조사 연구 (Study on Korean's recognition of soundscape reflected on the songs)

  • It is requures to understand the meaning of sound and cultural background of target spaces for soundscape design. The purpose of this study is to derive the general soundscape preserved in the mind of Korean people. Four kinds of traditional Korean songs, that is to say, Sijo (Korean verse), folk-song, Pansori (song for drama by Chang reciter), and popular songs, were used as tools of research subjects. That is because the sounds expressed in literature are very useful subjects for soundscape survey. Paragraphs containing description of sounds were selected from the lyrics of the songs. Then 11 sound categories were named, and 13 meaning categories were classified according to referential and emotional aspects, respectively.

집중하중을 받는 개단면 리브 보강판의 국부 거동 (The Local Behavior of Stiffened Plates with Open Ribs Subject to a Concentrated Load)

  • 본 논문에서는 개단면 리브를 갖는 보강판에 대하여 직교이방성 강성비를 매개변수로 하여, 집중하중이 작용하는 경우 발생하는 보강판의 국부 처짐 및 국부 모멘트에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 보강판의 국부 거동을 파악하기 위하여 리브 사이에 위치한 판의 중앙점에 하중이 작용하는 경우를 고려하였으며, 전체적인 거동을 산정하기 위하여, 판의 중앙에 위치한 리브 위에 하중이 작용하는 경우를 해석하였다. 여러 가지 보강판에 대한 국부 거동을 분석한 결과, 국부 모멘트의 증가 비율은 리브 간격과 상관없이 리브 크기에 따라 일정함을 알 수 있었으며, 또한, 보강판의 전체 처짐에 대한 국부 처짐의 비율은 리브 간격과 강성비의 함수로 표현할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 관계식을 예제에 적용한 결과, 실제 국부 처짐이 발생하는 경우와 상당한 정확도를 나타내었으며, 또한 직교이방성 판 해석에 적용한 결과, 상당한 정확도의 증가를 나타내었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 제안한 함수식을 이용하면, 개단면 리브를 갖는 보강판의 전체 거동으로부터 간편하게 국부 거동 결과를 예측할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

마리오 보타 작품에서 보여지는 실내공간의 특성에 관한 연구 - 공공건물을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Characteristics of Interior Space in the Works of Mario Botta -Focused on Public Buildings-)

  • Mario Botta is one of the modern architects who established his own architectural world on the basis of the architectural spirit of Modernism. His works have been a good theme not only for those who study architecture but also for those who study the relationship between architecture and the surrounding environment and there have been many published papers and reports on his works. However, most of them stressed on the importance of the external appearance of architecture or on the relationship between architecture and the surrounding environment. There have been relatively few studies that have dealt intensively with interior space. The aim of this study is to find the characteristics of interior space in public buildings that were designed by Botta and to analyze them from the view design principles and design elements. For this purpose, the five most important public buildings were selected and the public space of the building like the central hall, the lobby, and the foyer were analyzed. Through this study, the followings are realized. A) Spatial features: $\circled1$ Refined and graceful interiors where the principle of symmetry was applied, $\circled2$ Centripetal interiors surrounded by thick walls, $\circled3$ Interior design lit by skylights above the central area, B) Formative features: $\circled1$ The shapes of the external and internal spaces are identical, $\circled2$ Simple geometrical shapes were applied in defining the shapes of internal spaces, $\circled3$ Skylights and light wells were combined and were utilized as form elements, $\circled4$ Architectural vocabularies of Corbusier such as stairs, round pillars, and bridges were developed and utilized, $\circled5$ Utilized the geometry that resembled his architecture as a form element to the furniture, C) material pattern features: $\circled1$ Plainly expressed the patterns of bricks that appear in the course of construction, $\circled2$ Made and used horizontal stripe patterns using stones of different colors.

유추적 관점에서 본 '포로 로마노'와 알도로시의 '세계극장'에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the 'Theater of the World' and the 'Roman Forum' in Analogical Aspect)

  • Aldo Rossi explained Roman Forum as a significant urban artifact, because Roman Forum analogically showed not only an image of Roman Empire but also a figure of primitive design for its region. Thus the comparison and analysis between characteristics of Aldo Rossi's architectural works which are based on the theory of 'Analogical city' and the forums, the urban artifacts, was proceeded in this study. Consequently, it was discovered that Aldo Rossi had used his analogical thinking from the forum for his architectural languages such as gable roofs, square windows with depth, columns and so on. His analogical use of organizing spaces, such as courtyard type and pillar corridor type, has also shown that their types came from forum spaces. His analogical aspects of the forum: a space where urban images are analogically formed; were expressed in the 'Theater of Science' with the urban architecture form as the actor and the Theatre as the stage for analogical urban performances. Nevertheless, the expression of primitive design which divides the Roman Forum from other forums was actualized in 'the Theater of the World'. He not only analogically used types from Roman Forum in architectural design but also used boat in Water space, which decided the lifestyle and culture of Venice even before the civilization, to express the primitive design of Venice. Consequently, Aldo Rossi, by aiming the severance from the tradition, provided the possibility of explaining the newest modem type within the historical meaning by forming type which finds its continuance in history through 'the Theater of the World' and through analogical thinking along with the level of modern culture, to our urban architectural atmosphere that has lost its historical meanings.

  • 공공시설물에서의 사인은 정확한 의미전달을 목적으로 하고 있다. 특히 유도사인의 경우는 우리 주위환경과 루트를 적절히 표시하고 인식시키면서 우리의 행위를 유도해 주고 있다. 그런데 현재의 유도사인은 3차원적 공간의 방향을 2차원적 관점에서 보여주고 있는 것이 대부분으로, 이는 실제의 3차원 공간 속을 이동할 때 혼란을 유발시키는 한 요인으로 간주된 다. 따라서, 본 연구는 현재의 유도사인의 역할을 재 검토해보고 시지각적 측면에서 효율적인 유도사인의 방향을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 우선, 본 논문에서는 지하철역을 대상으로 한 의식조사를 통해 이용자의 유도사인에 대한 인지적 태도를 알아보았다. 그 결과, 현재 이용되는 역의 유도 사인은 방향정보 전달의 기능이 제대로 수행되고 있지 않으며, 특히 화살표의 표현방법이 재고되어야 함을 시사해 주고 있다. 본 연구는 인간의 공간 인지적 메카니즘을 토대로, 방향 정보 전달에 있어 현행의 2차원적 화살표 표현의 문제점을 고찰한다. 이러한 새로운 모색은 효율적인 유도사인의 구축에 도움이 되리라 생각된다.

언어성에서 본 포스트모더니즘 실내디자인의 특성연구 (A Study on the Characterization of Post-Modernism Interior Design inAttri Language bute)

  • 실내 공간은 공간의 특수성으로 인하여 질료로서 결정되는 허공간으로 이 공간이 쓰임새가 가치를 결정한다. 따라서 실내가 형성하는 공간의 추상성과 각 요소들이 연합하여 하나의 공간을 이루는 특이성 있는 공간을 형성한다. 그러므로 표현되는 어휘와 상징체계는 다분히 전체성의 특징을 갖는다. 본 연구는 포스트모더니즘 경향의 실내를 언어의 과학성을 기초로 하여 상징체계를 전체성으로 분석함에 있다. 내용은 크게 3부분으로 나뉘어진다. 제 1장에서는 서론 부분, 제 2장에서는 실내디자인의 특징, 제 3에서는 어휘와 코드의 정의, 어휘가 가지고 있는 상징성과 포스트모더니즘 실내를 성격 짓는 언어학적 은유의 내용을 고찰하였으며, 제 4장에서는 포스트모더니즘 실내디자인의 일반적인 특성과 이 특징을 이루고 있는 실내요소들 중에 근간을 이루는 전통성과 장식성 대중성을 이루는 데 필요한 실내 어휘들의 언어 성을 어휘, 코드, 은유를 중심으로 분류하였다. 끝으로 제 5장에서는 찰스 젱크스(Charles Jencks)의 시 메틱 하우스(Thematic House)서재 실내 공간을 하나의 모델로 선정하여 언어학적 분석하였다.

안드레 푸트만의 디자인 호텔 공용공간에 나타난 실내공간 특성 (Characteristics of Interior Space Shown In Public Space of Andree Putman's Design Hotels)

  • The change towards meeting diverse customer needs has started to affect the hotel industry as well. Design hotels emerged as customers demanded differentiated lodging experiences they could not fulfill at franchise hotels which were uniform in style everywhere in the world. Design hotels are meant to provide a new concept of space through unique design sensibility and work of designers, which highlighted the role of interior design. This research analyzes the characteristics of indoor space expressed in design hotel common spaces by the French designer Andree Putman, also known as the founder of boutique hotels and the concept of design hotels. As the original founder of the concept of design hotels, Putman's scope of work stretches wide, from interior design to product design. She is also one of the few French designers with a modernist inclination. The research runs a review on previous literature, characteristics of design hotels according to design tendency, and the association with characteristics of indoor space designed by Andree Putman, followed by case analyses extracted by analyses on design characteristics of common spaces she has designed. The analysis reveals that she creates comfortable yet elegant space, using contrast and fusion arising from negotiation of design styles to interpret space, the sense of spatial balance and understated expression of order through symmetrical structures, diverse creation of space through geometric structuring, highlighting indoor space by utilizing lights as objects, and the heterogeneous harmony achieved by contrasting juxtaposition, and understated formativeness. It is expected that study results would be utilized as methods of new designs of interior space in design hotels.

상업공간에서 재료를 통한 공간의 컨버전 소통 방법 연구 - 2008~2012년 국내·외 상업공간을 중심으로 - (A Study on Space of Conversion Communication Method through Materials in Commercial Space - Focusing on Domestic and International Commercial Spaces in 2008~2012 -)

  • Commercial spaces are very sensitive in terms of trend and uniqueness, and many elements expressing space coexist together with brilliant ideas aiming to attract consumer attention and even induce sudden desire of purchase. Coexistence in space is expressed in various ways and out of those ways, representation by material is especially apparent. The application of material does not individually influence the expression of space, but the characteristics of multiple materials applied contribute to the distinction of space through mutual communication. This study intends to analyze how conversion is centered to express the distinction of space through materials communicated in space. The detailed study results are as follows. First, the conversion expression method of material resulted as 'Substitution', 'Contrast', 'Assimilation', 'Creation'. These four was divided and analyzed into 'Time', 'Space', 'Genre'. As a result of this analysis, such significances were shown as 'Contrast' in 'Time', 'Substitution' in 'Space', and 'Assimilation' in 'Genre'. Second, the conflict due to heterogeneity by conversion of 'Contrast' in 'Time' through past and current materials appeared to induce interest amongst consumers. Third, within 'Space', 'Substitution' of natural/artificial materials was noticeably applied. This is evaluated as a constructive way of expressing natural forms into artificial forms further intending to provoke attention and stimulate emotion. Fourth, in conversion through 'Assimilation' in 'Genre', rather than using materials only from other areas, synchronizing it by combining architectural materials is an effective method. Such results are thought to be a distinctive design method that draws attention of customers by communicating disparate materials in commercial space. Thus, the study results are expected to be utilized as an elementary resource in designing commercial space with character and high satisfaction.

관계적 공간에서 결혼 이주 여성의 삶 (Married Immigrant Women's Life in Relational Spaces)

  • 본 연구는 두 가지 목적 하에서 수행되었다. 하나는 결혼 이주 여성이 가족, 이웃, 친구, 조직, 국가와 관계하면서 겪는 갈등, 차별, 저항 등을 구체적으로 탐색하는 것이다. 다른 하나는 결혼 이주 여성과 가족을 새로운 시각, 즉 초국가(국경을 초월한 로컬과 로컬의 관계), 로컬, 국가와의 관계적 공간으로 설명하는 데 있다. 연구 결과는 세 가지로 요약될 수 있다. 첫째는 국제결혼에 의해 초국가적 공간이 형성되며, 생성된 공간은 결혼 이주 여성의 (비)일상적 활동에 의해 유지된다. 초국가적 활동은 송금(remittance), 자녀의 양육과 교육, 친정 방문, 전화나 인터넷 등을 통한 정서적 교감 등이 포함된다. 둘째는 결혼 이주 여성이 가족, 이웃, 친구, 기관 등과 연관됨에 따라 중층적인 관계적 로컬 공간이 형성 유지되고 있다. 셋째는 결혼 이주 여성은 국적 취득과 정부(지방자치단체)의 다문화 지원 사업의 측면에서 국가 권력 혹은 정부 행정과 연관되어 있다. 국민 정체성과 관련지어 결혼 이주 여성은 모국과 한국 가운데 어디에 속하는지 구분이 불명확한 위치에 놓여 있음을 느끼는 경우도 있다.

예술적 개입을 통한 건축표피의 그래픽 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Graphics on Architectural Surfaces through Artistic Intervention)

  • This study investigates the examples of artistic intervention especially on the surface of architecture as a meeting place of art and architecture. Artistic intervention demonstrates the possibilities for the meaningful integration of arts into architectural spaces. This study summarizes the characteristics of artistic intervention on the surfaces of architectures as follow; first, the artistic intervention is applied to the broad ranges of designs including public art, architectural design and sign design that establish identities and unique characters to the spaces. Second, the artistic intervention on the surfaces is conducted by the participation of the various fields of artists, i.e. painters, installation artists, graphic designers and landscape designers. The artistic intervention is also conducted by individual collaboration between artists and architects as well as by the forms of public art of art-in-architecture program. Third, the artistic intervention on the surfaces is expressed using the complex combination of images, colors, patterns, and texts. They are applied to enhance the aesthetic and symbolic characters of buildings in public arts, to improve the visual characters of architectural design with graphics, colors, and patterns, as well as to increase communication skills and cognitive effects of sign design with letters and colors on walls and floor surfaces. Fourth, the artistic intervention is also applied on the surfaces to encourage people to communicate historic and symbolic meanings related to the locations and functions. Thus, graphics on the architectural surfaces could provide a public space, with which people could share common feeling on public arts. As a conclusion, the study finds that artistic intervention either as artworks or as elements of architectural design can not only enhance the aesthetic quality of architectural space but also expand the techniques of design representation. In addition, the artistic intervention can contribute to create a new realm of design where artists and architects work together to enrich our surroundings.
