  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of the floor classification and the main-living behavior, and the tendency of using furniture and space by surveying the situations of using An-bang space by apartment dwellers. An-bang is a factor that influences on the unit-plan organization, the whole spatial arrangements, and the spatial relation and size, and has the most severe friction between the tradition and western culture. Given seeing the results shown in the main-living behavior by floor type, that the rest and TV watching were shown to be high in terms of a free-standing type can be said that An-bang is more for the individual rest than far the purpose of family harmony. On the other hand, that the family courtesy was shown to be a little higher a sitting-down type, could be understood that the sitting-down style, which is a traditional living mode, is appearing in An-bang.

  • The purpose of this paper is to understand the behavior of GHTAW process under the space environment with the experimental and numerical analysis. Gas Hollow Tungsten Arc Welding (GHTAW) using a hollow tungsten electrode was adopted, since the ignition and discharge of a conventional GTAW process is not appropriate to the space environment due to low pressure in space. In order to clarify the phenomena of GHTAW under space environment, an investigation of thermal and physical properties of the GHTAW arc plasma was experimentally performed under low pressure conditions. Furthermore, the molten pool behavior and weldment of GHTAW were understood by CFD-based numerical analysis, based on the models of GHTA heat source, arc pressure and electromagnetic force induced by arc plasma, the characteristics of which were obtained by the captured images of a CCD camera.

  • This paper discusses the behavior of post-tensioned and shaped hypar space truss, with consideration of the influence of removing some web members. Hypar space truss is post-tensioned at the bottom chords of one diagonal on the ground; the essential behavior characteristic of shape formation is discussed by using a small-scale test model. Results of experiments and nonlinear finite-element analysis indicate that a planar, rectangular- arranged structure can be deformed to a predicted hyper shape, by the proposed shape formation method. Also the feasibility of the proposed method for furnishing of a hypar shaped face truss has been presented, under the condition of both non-removed and partially removed web members. It follows that a nonlinear finite element analysis method can be used in predicting the behavior of the space shape and the post-tensioning force in sharing of hypar space truss. Further, in comparison to the other cases, the results of test and analysis show that the active diagonal shaping in the non-removed web members and passive diagonal shaping of partially removed web members are in relatively good agreement.

  • With the development of ubiquitous computing and the construction of infrastructure for one-to-one personalized services, the importance of context-aware services based on user's situation and environment is being spotlighted. The smart home technology connects real space and virtual space, and converts situations in reality into information in a virtual space, and provides user-oriented intelligent services using this information. In this paper, we proposed the discovery of the behavior sequence pattern using the mining in the smart home. We discovered the behavior sequence pattern by using mining to add time variation to the association rule between locations that occur in location transactions. We can predict the path or behavior of user according to the recognized time sequence and provide services accordingly. To evaluate the performance of behavior consequence pattern using mining, we conducted sample t-tests so as to verify usefulness. This evaluation found that the difference of satisfaction by service was statistically meaningful, and showed high satisfaction.

  • This paper addresses the results of an experimental and analytical research of a helical coil spring subjected to dynamic behavior using space curve vector after considering elongation rate. Vibrations in helical coil spring can be divided into 3 modes such as vibrations of coil spring center axis' vertical direction. axis' horizontal direction, direction about center axis. However. these 3 modes are dependent one another and are characterized as coupled. The dependency was proved through both theoretically and experimentally analyzing the results of dynamic characteristics of coil spring center axis' vertical direction vibration by transfer matrix method using the governing equation of static equilibrium. Also this paper shows that pitch angle and active coils in coil spring affect the dynamic spring characteristics of the above 3 modes and are especially sensitive to the mode for vibration of axis' horizontal direction which most affects especially on dynamo stability of helical coil spring.
