상황인식에 대한 측정 및 차세대 원자로 운전원 성능 평가에서의 활용방법에 관한 이론 연구 (A Review on Measurement and Applications of Situation Awareness for an Evaluation of Korea Next Generation Reactor Operator Performance)

  • Situation awareness is defined as a person's perception of the elements of the environment within a volume of time and space, the comprehension of their meaning and the projection of their status in the near future. Situation awareness is important in attempting to evaluate human behavior in operating complex systems such as aircraft, air traffic control, and nuclear power plant systems. From the literatures this study reviews the relationship between situation awareness and numerous individual, system and environmental factors, and also reviews the methodologies for the empirical measurement of situation awareness applicable to Korea Next Generation Reactor (KNGR) design project. Attention, working memory, workload, stress, system complexity, and automation are presented as critical factors limiting operator's situation awareness. Mental models and goal-directed behavior are hypothesized as important mechanisms overcoming these limits. This study summarized hypothesized guidelines for interface design to improve situation awareness of reactor operators. Some of the guidelines should be tested in the KNGR evaluation experiments in the future.

우리나라 국민의 우주위험인식 수준과 국가 재난정책 (Public's Recognition of the Space Object's Re-entry Situations and the National Space Disaster Management Policy)

  • Since the mankind started its space mission, the number of artificial space objects has been increasing exponentially. It contains not just the space machines which are in use but the machines which are out of order. Meantime, those dead machines are being a serious danger, a real threat to human's lives and property because of it could re-enter into the earth's atmosphere and fall to the ground causing mega-disaster. As the number of space activities gets growing so far, the re-entry of the space objects will be a lot more happened in the future. Therefore, not just natural space object like asteroids but the artificial space object like artificial satellite and space station can cause the disaster by falling to the ground. To protect our nation and our property, the government has set up the space disaster management center in Korea astronomy and Space science Institute. In this study, we surveyed public's recognition of the space object's re-entry situation and analyzed it to contribute building national space disaster management policy.

사용자 중심의 상황 인지 시스템의 개발 (Development of User-Centered Context Awareness System)

  • Recently, a smart space with Ubiquitous Environment is expanding rapidly due to the development of Ubiquitous Sensor Network. Therefore, more appropriate and intelligent services of the context awareness system is being required. The previous context awareness system can provide a service to the user through the inference only on the current situation. But, it does not handle certain situation properly when the system provides abnormal result. Also it does not have any proper method of generating reliable semantic data from sensed raw data. In this paper, we are trying to solve the problems as the following approaches. First, the system recognizes abnormal result and corrects it by learning feedback from the user. Second, we suggest a method of converting sensed data into more reliable semantic data. Third, we build the system based on an Ontological context model that is capable of interoperability and reusability. Therefore, the context awareness system of our study can enhance the previous system that can generate more reliable context data, can provide more effective inference method, and can provide more intelligent system structure.

  • 상황인식은 비행 또는 항공기를 유지하는 작업에서 진행 상황을 파악하는데 필요한 모든 사항을 인식하는 것을 의미한다. 상황인식은 환경에 대한 정보를 단순히 인지하는 것 이상을 기본으로 하며 정보의 의미를 통합된 형태로 제공하는 것이 중요하다. 한국형 기동헬기는 통합된 형태의 상황인식을 위하여 통합 상황시현 및 우선순위 기반 청각 신호경고를 시각 신호와 동조하여 조종사에게 제공한다. 통합 상황시현 및 효율적인 경고 제공으로 운용자 과실을 줄이고 운용자에게 임무의 핵심작업 및 이벤트에 집중할 수 있게 한다. 본 논문은 한국형 기동헬기에서 구현한 통합 상황시현 및 경고 설계를 소개한다.

드론의 안전비행을 위한 국부 및 전역지도 인터페이스 (Local and Global Navigation Maps for Safe UAV Flight)

  • To fly a drone or unmanned aerial vechicle(UAV) safely, its pilot needs to maintain high situation awareness of its flight space. One of the important ways to improve the flight space awareness is to integrate both the global and the local navigation map a drone provides. However, the drone pilot often has to use the inconsistent reference frames or perspectives between the two maps. In specific, the global navigation map tends to display space information in the third-person perspective, whereas the local map tends to use the first-person perspective through the drone camera. This inconsistent perspective problem makes the pilot use mental rotation to align the different perspectives. In addition, integrating different dimensionalities (2D vs. 3D) of the two maps may aggravate the pilot's cognitive load of mental rotation. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the relation between perspective difference ($0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$, $270^{\circ}$) and the map dimensionality matches (3D-3D vs. 3D-2D) to improve the way of integrating the two maps. The results show that the pilot's flight space awareness improves when the perspective differences are smaller and also when the dimensionalities between the two maps are matched.

  • 기술의 개발은 인류의 활동영역을 넓히고, 기존에 대응하지 못했던 재난 상황에의 대응을 가능케 한다. 한편, 인류의 우주개발 활동은 새로운 종류의 재난인 우주물체에 의한 위험을 인식하게 하였다. 지난 '13년 러시아 첼야빈스크에 추락하여 1천 5백여 명의 인명피해를 낸 소행성처럼 과거에는 혜성 등 자연우주물체만이 위험요소에 해당하였다면, 오늘날에는 '87년 구소련의 원자력 핵전지 탑재 위성 추락, '12년 러시아의 포보스-그룬트 위성 추락 등 인공우주물체의 추락마저도 인류가 적극적으로 대처해야 할 위험요인이 된 것이다. 이에 정부에서는 국가차원의 대비책을 마련하고자 '14년에 우주위험대비기본계획을 확정하여 우주위험 예 경보 및 감시 분석 능력 등에 대한 목표를 제시한 바 있다. 본 연구에서는 우주위험을 대비하기 위해 개발해야 하는 기술의 중요성 및 시급성을 도출하기 위하여 관련 전문가를 대상으로 AHP 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 이의 결과를 근거로 우주위험감시기술개발 추진을 위한 정책전략을 제시하고자 한다.

화장품 판매공간 디자인의 브랜드 인지도와 이미지의 관계성에 관한 연구 - 명동 지역 화장품 로드 숍을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationship between Brand Awareness and Image in Cosmetic Sales Space Design - Focusing on the Cosmetic Road Shop in Myeongdong -)

  • Recently, cosmetic shops are facing a complicate economy situation and a great number of brands are attempting two-way communication with customers, not one-way communication. 'Brand' equity is important to deliver virtual brand mark as visual image. We have 4 steps for brand identity structure, and this study is about the first 'brand-awareness' and the second step 'brand-image'. We investigated the correlation between brand-awareness and brand-image after searching which spatial elements are highly effective to both steps as we designated 5 cosmetic shops. We already organized the means of spatial analysis and we separated into two elements, constructive and decorative. For constructive element, a shop needs a distinct ceiling and wall design, and for decorative element, strong brand image communication is required through showcase design. We proved that brand awareness and brand image have the correlation, which also can be in direct proportion, by regression analysis. The result of this study shows that improving brand awareness as the primary element for cosmetic road shop can be an effective way to enhance brand image.

Development of an Autonomous Situational Awareness Software for Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are increasingly needed as they can replace manned aircrafts in dangerous military missions. However, because of their low autonomy, current UAVs can execute missions only under continuous operator control. To overcome this limitation, higher autonomy levels of UAVs based on autonomous situational awareness is required. In this paper, we propose an autonomous situational awareness software consisting of situation awareness management, threat recognition, threat identification, and threat space analysis to detect dynamic situational change by external threats. We implemented the proposed software in real mission computer hardware and evaluated the performance of situational awareness toward dynamic radar threats in flight simulations.

메를로-퐁티 현상학으로 본 부석사 공간 연구 (A Study on Space of Pu Sok Sa through Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenology)

  • As media technology has made rapid progress, cultures in the world have spread fast. In addition, Korea wave spreading toward the world is taking shape as a brand that represents essential Koreanness. Such tendency has led attempts to seek Koreanness in the field of space design. The desire to escape from the absence of humanity that is based on mechanistic nature view has led a variety of ideas and concepts on space. In particular, concept of phenomenological space centering on human body has been emphasized. Merleau-Ponty found concept of phenomenological space that emphasizes awareness through experience of human body. In this thesis, orientation as situation, temporality as body, depth as consciousness, and correlational orientation which are key concepts of Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology were covered. Such concepts were used in analyzing the characteristics of Buseoksa Temple to present essential Koreanness.

  • USS(Ubiquitous Smart Space)는 공간내에서 벌어지는 다양한 상황을 인지하고, 사물이나 서비스들이 자율적으로 협업함으로써 사용자의 목표에 맞는 서비스를 제공한다. U-Safety는 USS 상에서 다중센서를 통해 좀더 정확한 상황을 인지하고 이에 대처하여 조처를 취하는 시스템이다. U-Safety 에서 사용되는 다양한 센서들이 수집한 데이터 중에 영상데이터는 사람이 객관적으로 상황을 추론하기에 가장 이상적이다. 센터는 다양한 곳에 설치된 영상입력 장치로 부터 많은 양의 영상 데이터를 수집하여 이를 바탕으로 다중의 상황인지 및 추론을 수행하게 된다. 이에 센터는 방대한 양의 데이터를 처리하기 위해 매우 많은 자원을 소비하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 제안하는 계층적 영상 처리 방법은 영상입력 장치에서 1차 상황인지를 하고 전체 영상중 상황인지의 가능성이 높은 부분만을 블럭화하여 센터로 전송하는 방법을 제안한다. 이는 센터가 영상처리를 위해 소비하는 자원을 줄여 원활한 상황인지의 효율을 높이고 U-Safety 망에 영상데이터가 차지하는 비율을 줄인다.
