  • Space dominates all the art activities human do and plays a role of providing aesthetic emotion. Architecture, sculpture, painting, and furniture, etc. these two and three dimensional works are represented in space and interpreted the role of its form, structure and function. Each area is different, but space has been studied in philosophy, physics, geometry, and mathematical studies, etc. and has been consistently interpreted and represented relating to a variety of human creative activity. Furniture is also three dimensional art being dependent on space. In the United States in 2004, I made the living room bench by applying the spatial concept at Rochester Institute of Technology. Two years later, this design was adopted by wendell Castle Collection, an American furniture company, then prototype were made and tested three times during a year, and then since 2007 as indoor benches it has been manufactured in the United States. The study's purpose is to order the process of its development based on the experience of bench production applied the spatial concept, and by analyzing the properties of spatial concept, I am planning to propose a new concept on interaction with the space and furniture for next.

  • As we recognize the space, humans will experience a process to synthesize elements of cognitive various methods, come to understand the environment. It is intended that on humans to recognize the space, it is intended to act directly under study how to recognize. Humans can know that the determining action based on the values and physical condition, based on the space in which they have been recognized, there are differences in the behavior of the human as a result. Social and arrangement of components - physical region that is cultural difficulties constitute experience specific areas therein. Space for human activities and human, can know that it is not a memory of human behavior, to have a closer relationship with human perception. That is, the description will be aware of the space via the perceptual phenomenon of man due to physical elements performed in the space, what acts about what happens. Through an understanding of the potential for this, and emotion space production consisting only of physical visual element future, and use act of the area to be expressed from his recognition, through the expansion of the perceptual elements, diverse experience richer and more it is a case where deemed necessary access space configuration capable of a broad depth study of this portion is happening, in order to constitute a space, a new interpretation for human behavior is progressing.

  • Space launch vehicle development needs many kinds of technologies synthetically. Nowadays, KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute) has developed a space launch vehicle, KSLV-I (Korea Space Launch Vehicle-I), that is able to load with an 100kg payload. After that it plans to develop Korean Space Launch Vehicle. As space launch vehicle becomes more complicate and larger, it needs a scientific and analytic development cost estimation. In this paper a cost estimation for KSLV-II using TRANSCOST 7.1 was studied.

  • This paper describes the stacking effect for Ceramic Column Grid Array(CCGA) packages used for satellites. Reflow Soldering Process suitable for CCGA package with back structure was set as the process development goal to meet European Cooperation for Space Standardization(ECSS) standard. After analyzing the stacking effect according to the type of CCGA, it is verified by applying it to the CCGA Reflow Soldering Process. In order to confirm the validity of the staking effect analyzed in terms of vibration and thermal characteristics, it is verified through actual specimen production. It analyzes the cause of crack occurrence in the CCGA package and estimates the crack generation point using previously acquired inspection data.

  • The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide was used for supplementing the oxygen during batch xanthan fermentations in a bubble column bioreactor in order to escape the oxygen transfer limitation that occurred at the high viscosity of culture broths. The xanthan production, however, was inhibited reversibly by dosing hydrogen peroxide. On the other hand, fluidized particles of glass beads with 8 mm diameter led to high gas-liquid oxygen transfer rates in three-phase fluidized beds, which resulted in higher space-time yields of the xanthan production compared to in the bubble column bioreactors.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce the KOMPSAT-2 Direct Receiving and Processing System, hereafter DRS, located in Svalbard, Tromso and Toulouse. The KOMPSAT-2 from KOMPSAT-2 satellite and generating preprocessed image data that is a kind of raw image data for standard image production. The products generate from this system are comprised of 1R and 1G product upon having a geographic coordinates. In the following paragraph, it is described that DRS configuration, data processing procedure and product characteristics and then, the value-added image production test such orthoimage is introduced.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest ways to vitalize residential container architecture by identifying the building process of domestic residential container architecture and analyzing various problems appeared in the process and status of construction related to planning, design, and construction. Conclusion and suggestions of this study are as follows.; firstly, according to the current situation of domestic residential container architecture, the usage was planned mainly for accommodation. Secondly, For planning background of planning preparation stage, economic benefit for long-term residence individuality and diversity for long short term complex residence were the primary planning backgrounds. Thirdly, for floor planning of planning design stage, space planning for various purposes is necessary as creating inter-space, wide LDK space, and loft by using narrow and long container for the long-term residence. Lastly, For construction stage, ways to reduce personnel expenses are being required by reducing the term of works and simplifying the processing stage by running factory production and field construction in parallel. If reduction method of construction cost through energy saving and mass production system is considered in the future, it would be possible to expand the development to dormitory and community housing for university students who are pressured by housing cost.

  • In this paper, we discussed a problem for improving the throughput of a crankshaft manufacturing line in an automotive factory in which the budget for purchasing new machines and installing additional buffers is limited. We also considered the constraint of available space for both of machine and buffer. Although this problem seems like a kind of buffer allocation problem, it is different from buffer allocation problem because additional machines are also considered. Thus, it is not easy to calculate the throughput by mathematical model, and therefore simulation model was developed using $ARENA^{(R)}$ for estimating throughput. To determine the investment plan, a modified Arrow Assignment Rule under some constraints was suggested and it was applied to the real case.

  • Simulation technique for the fish behavior was applied to estimate fish school movement in the cage net. Individual-based fish behavior model (Huth and Wessel, 1991) was evaluated in a free area to understand the characteristics for the model, and the movement in the cage net was simulated by defining the fish reaction against the displacement of cage net. As a result, the distance to the net was not considerably changed and the space among fishes in cage net was slightly decreased by reducing the net space. Swimming area was, however, significantly affected by changing the net space and the relationship between swimming area and net displacement was theoretically estimated as y=-0.21x+1.02 ($R^2$=0.96). these results leads the conclusion that individual-based model was appropriated to describe the fish school reaction in the cage net and be able to use for evaluating the influence on cultured fish.

  • Korean English learners tend to have difficulty perceiving and producing English vowels. The purpose of this study is to examine a link between perceived and produced vowel spaces of Korean learners of English. Sixteen Korean male and female participants perceived two sets of English synthetic vowels on a computer monitor and rated their naturalness. The same participants produced English vowels in a carrier sentence with high and low pitch variation in a clear speaking mode. The author compared the perceived and produced vowel spaces in terms of the pitch and gender variables. Results showed that the perceived vowel spaces were not significantly different in either variables. Korean learners perceived the vowels similarly. They did not differentiate the tense-lax vowel pairs nor the low vowels. Secondly, the produced vowel spaces of the male and female groups showed a 25% difference which may have come from their physiological differences in the vocal tract length. Thirdly, the comparison of the perceived and produced vowel spaces revealed that although the vowel space patterns of the Korean male and female learners appeared similar, which may lead to a relative link between perception and production, statistical differences existed in some vowels because of the acoustical properties of the synthetic vowels, which may lead to an independent link. The author concluded that any comparison between the perceived and produced vowel space of nonnative speakers should be made cautiously. Further studies would be desirable to examine how Koreans would perceive different sets of synthetic vowels.
