  • This study was conducted to examine the change of heating environment with the creation of an indoor water space. Living environments and comfort of dwellers can be improved by utilizing the physical properties of water effectively. This study focuses on the basic examination of the effect of water space and the environmental effects of water space by experiment. Two identical models were fabricated to compare the changes in indoor temperature and humidity with and without a water space. With the water space, temperature was reduced by an average of $0.55^{\circ}C$ a day and moisture content increased by an average of 4%. As a result, it was possible to obtain quantitative data on water space's temperature reduction and humidity control capacities. This study is expected to provide basic information for further studies on the effect of water spaces in various buildings.

  • The study was conducted to analyze whether the recent trends in preference toward small and medium-sized housing in Korea represent changes in space norms. To accomplish this, the existing data from Statistics Korea and two different empirical data sets collected in 2007 and 2012 from Ulsan, Korea, were statistically analyzed through descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation analysis with a chi-squared test and multiple regression analysis. In the analyses, the space norms of households were compared and any changes in the space norms and the related factors were determined. The space norms were mainly investigated in terms of the housing size and the number of rooms. The results are as follows: 1) since 2010, there have been changes in the housing stock distribution in terms of size. Stocks of small housing increased, while those of medium and large housing decreased. Nevertheless, the overall conditions of spatial density have improved considerably in the recent 30 years. 2) It was found that there were statistically significant differences between 2007 and 2012 in space norms. The norms for housing sized less than 99 m2 and with one or two rooms were found to have increased, while that for housing sized more than 132 m2 decreased. 3) Household size, education of the head, monthly household income, housing type and the number of bedrooms in the current dwelling were the significant explanatory variables of space norms.

  • Increased internet use under a ubiquitous environment may be called as a great human information space revolution followed by Industrial Revolution. This revolution is exerting its significant influence over all the industry as a whole with speed faster than that of any other times. Along with this trend, if furniture design field that leads living culture should fail to jump on this main stream without noticing it, it may be reduced to a unpopular field some day without any sign of recovery. Under this background, this study is intended to recognize a goal aiming at understanding our rapidly changing living environment and leading our way positively. Currently, our surrounding living environment is immersed in computers here and there and Mark Weiser once defined a system that moves in advance before an action as ubiquitous computing and in this respect, I am going to observe a detailed transformation process of space. First nature of the space may be defined as atoms, a physical space equivalent to a spatial element and Bits space that is untouchable is usually called as 2nd space and a combination of atoms and Bits is an intelligent space - 3rd space - that can be intelligible without touching it and finally, this space is called as a ubiquitous space. This spatial transformation is developed by several changes of living environment and we may call it as living trend or interior design trend. Transformation in terms of social perspective, space structural perspective and digital technique perspective may be enumerated. These transformations were surveyed based on its contents being implemented at a future housing exhibition hosted by 5 construction companies along with fusion of information furniture and furniture depending on each housing space. In conclusion, it could be realized that most of the companies were decorating future space by implementing ubiquitous environment as a success factor of future housing market. It may be meaningful to note once again that under an interior environment, a fusion of furniture and information furniture is required considering interior trend elements.

  • The ionosphere acts as the largest error source in the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal transmission. Ionospheric total electron content (TEC) is also easily affected by changes in the space environment, such as solar activity and geomagnetic storms. In this study, we analyze changes in the regional ionosphere using the Qusai-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), a regional satellite navigation system. Observations from 9 GNSS stations in South Korea are used for estimating the QZSS TEC. In addition, the performance of QZSS TEC is analyzed with observations from day of year (DOY) 199 to 206, 2023. To verify the performance of our results, we compare the estimated QZSS TEC and CODE Global Ionosphere Map (GIM) at the same location. Our results are in good agreement with the GIM product provided by the CODE over this period, with an averaged difference of approximately 0.1 TECU and a root mean square (RMS) value of 2.89 TECU.

  • The constant evolution of society, culture and scientific technology, coupled with changes in life style and behavioral patterns, has led mankind to peroeive diverse needs for space. Particularly, the rapid structural change in the field of marketing has entailed changes in techinques for construction and presentation of space for an improved marketing environment. To satisfy such new, diverse needs for space, interior designers will have to redefine the "mankind and environmen( concept and examine their design methodology anew. The question of how to design available space for a certain purpose will remain a daunting task for designers in the future, as it has been in the past. In the pursuit of convenience and conformity to mankind's surroundings, every nation has, in common with other nations, basic design elements, design skills and other factors. In designing camercial space in a particular region, it is essential, however, to have a proper understanding of the social economic and cultural context indigenous to that region, as well as the impact on environmental and ecological change and marketing strategy. This study discusses design metholdology for the comming camercial space on the basis of the space concept and current status in Korea, with major emphasis on Korea's regional characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the formation of internal wind paths of open space and its effect on meteorological factors and the generation of negative air ions. Various types of internal wind paths of open space were formed. Subsequently, changes in meteorological factors in each type were measured and the generated negative air ions were analyzed. The four key findings of the study are summarized as follows. First, the average wind speed formed inside the open space was analyzed such that the difference in wind speed was dependent on the difference in the composition of the wind path. Second, the negative air ion generation was observed to have the same trend as the average wind speed difference. Third, changes to the meteorological factors were more evident depending on the difference in wind path formation patterns. Solar radiation was expected to be highly affected by the physical structure (direction) of the target site. The relative humidity was found to show large difference depending on the different wind path type; however, this difference was significantly reduced when converting to absolute humidity. Fourth, it was found that the wind path formation type of open space affects meteorological factors through path analysis, and the changed meteorological factors affect the amount of generated negative air ions. Two conclusions can be obtained based on these results. First, the changes in internal wind speed formation of open space directly reduced the amount of generated negative air ions. Second, the changes in wind speed affect meteorological factors as well as the amount of generated negative air ions.

  • This study describes development process of residential architectural space in the Richard Meier's residential works through chronological analysis. By analyzing house layout, floor plan, elevation, materials and colors and light entering of his residential works, changes in his architectural space has been studied. Richard Meier's early work is designed as three-dimensional shape, and places emphasis on geometric form. However, recently completed residential works by Richard Meier focuses on the horizontal sun shading louvers, which has ability. In addition, teak and a special UV protective glass are used to control natural environment. Through this research, it was found that Richard Meier has maintained his architectural language in terms of the design layout of the house and planar with colors that appear on the initial project. Using light input methods and materials used for active development, it was found that many design elements were applied and developed.

  • Modern society changes so fast that it makes the borderlines obscure among all the elements in physical environments as well as culture and economy through rapid flows of Network or new media. Also these flows of changes appears and collides everywhere at the same time, which continuously generates heterogeneous environmental factors. For this reason, architecture is required to correspond with circumstances of the day, but it doesn't keep up with the speed of social changes actually because it features physically fixed construction. This research offers new direction and possibilities of architecture space elements using pluralistic and do-centering attributes of hypertext as a counterplan, and finds out how architecture space should correspond with the moving environment of modern society.
