The features of the cultural phenomenon, 'Hybrid Culture,' can be analyzed through the concept of 'Meme,' the cultural gene continuously evolves. The architectural meme also has an effect as the cultural symbol on a space. It can be the solution to the urban problems, lack of contextualization caused by reckless development. Therefore, this study aims to examine the characteristics of the sustainable and effective renewal space by applying the concept of Meme. Theoretical analysis, characteristics of expression, and case study are conducted to analyze the Meme features of the renewal space. Particularly, this study focuses on the Meme features appeared in the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in German. The results obtained from this study is as written below. First, Meme renewal space is a design that can solve the contextual deficiency of architecture through the cultural renewal. Second, the true renewal space has the characteristics of meme space that organically changes as if an organism. Third, it is possible to conduct a detailed analysis on the organic characteristics according to the evolving phases-Mimesis, Memeplex, and Metameme. Fourth, the true meaning of sustainable renewal space is the Meme space encompasses the scope of urban. Lastly, the Meme space has a circulation system that each evolving phase, and new and old continuously exchange feedbacks.

In the Tractatus, 'logical space' raises the several puzzles as follows. What are logical space, logical coordinates and logical place? What is the point of such analogies and what do they refer to exactly in the Tractatus? And what do occupy logical space? Can facts, proposition, propositional sign, situation and contradiction occupy it respectively? Or is it impossible to reconcile the remarks concerning logical place in the Tractatus? Futhermore, why did Wittgenstein need the concept of logical space? What is the problem that he tried to solve through this concept? In this paper, I will endeavor to answer to these problems. Logical space in the Tractatus is the system of propositions with senses. And it is the concept which Wittgenstein contrived by making model of Hertz's configuration space. Wittgenstein's fundamental coordinates are in some ways similar to geometrical ones. On the other hand logical coordinates are completely different from geometrical ones. Hence attempts to understand logical space by a kind of geometrical spaces cannot be right at all.

There are more and more citizens suffering from severe fatigue, and they wish to escape from it and spend their leisure time for healing. As a result, buildings and complexes are being constructed nationwide with healing as their theme. Particularly, they tend to build facilities with concepts like a spa, beauty, healing, meditation, nature, or forest healing. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of healing environment and the nationwide tendencies of building facilities with healing as their theme and also investigate the planning characteristics of complexes and architecture with three representative complexes as examples. Complexes intended for healing have immersion into nature being freed from one's routine as their concept. When planning the flow of human traffic within the complexes, they try to obtain the autonomy of choice as well as the diversity of space and experiential factors in order to provide opportunities for experiencing nature. In the complexes selected for a case study here, they have planned the factors of physical environment that are associated with one another based on architectural education programs using red clay, programs specializing poetry, and healing programs using food. Typically, this is centered around outdoor experiential space, indoor meditation and education space, or fitness space. Also, it is characterized by the planning of physical environment and the complex operation of programs. Particularly, public space is divided into communal space, resting space, and health and treatment space, and health/resting space is mainly intended for health and exercise, for example, fitness, spas, or jjimjilbang (Korean dry saunas). Also, it is characterized by the planning of pitched roofs harmonized with nature and also facade planning that can positively adopt the factors of natural environment.

The change in radically changing era requires various interpretation of interior space and application according to it Minimalism shows simple and pure geometric structure and has been influencing to every aspect encompassing space till present. The features of minimalism in space is geometric structure and composition of simple and repetitive line, restrained simple space, pure and structural simplicity. When minimalism construction is discussed, the vocabulary of simplicity has been followed incidentally and has been discussed as concept of simplicity in new viewpoint through historical flow. The purpose of this study is analyzing basic features of John Pawson's ways of working and trying to define the semantics of the new simplicity concept in modern interior space. The new simplicity in John Pawson shows interactive relationship of eastern and western through basic consideration of fundamental elements such as space, light and materials. The relational simple in intermediation of the new simplicity expressed by amalgamation of eastern and western further from disparate interpretation for simplicity expressed in eastern and western is to review back the basic meaning of simplicity in minimalism. And I hope this study can offer various directions for new interior space accepting theory of the new simplicity and I think that new constructional alternative is required as physical space which can be matched with era of social, environmental chaos caused by this theory of the new simplicity.

The purposed of this study is to analyze the performance-art facilities. Research methods were reference study (interaction, local performance-art facilities) and research on the actual condition (on 4 local performance-art facilities for field investigation). Consequently emotional interractive space design makes people satisfied with their five senses, communication with people increase and enable people to experience something new that they haven't experienced before transcending time and space. Interaction design is designing experience of user through the interaction for human, thing, system, and space. The result of this research is to found out the possibility of emotional interaction design concept applied in public service area as a plan to revitalize the performance-art facilities.

The purpose of this study is to show the development process of space concept by studying on the Louis I. Kahn's painting as pre-architectural thinking. Generally the idea of an architect is represented with lots of mediums, and the architectural thinking is developed through the process. In his early days, he, as an architect, made many travel sketches of Europe. In these clays, painting was the most significant medium to him. Since 1950's, he also left lots of sketches affected by abstract painting in addition to travel sketches. The results of this study were as follows: He found the image of antiquity from his painting and he made this image into abstraction in the facade. And the image of ruins was translated the layered space which was the transitional space. And he presented 'marche' through the series of painting of various view point. The Concept of 'marche' was translated into the connections of repetitive mass in the architectural space.

Transformation of complexity and diverse life style of contemporary men have call for increase in demand of single's and couple's living space of one-room apartment. Feasibility for intensive use of one-room apartment, regardless of it's openness and flexible character, multiple function in a single concentrated room without privacy and lack of confrontation of the changes in diverse living pattern enhance uniformity which reflects as an essential problem. Therefore, this study is to present a direction of one-room apartment interior space planning to differentiate from the existing system of uniformity and it's problems. Within the concept of flexibility, establishment of the flexibility factors for the application of hinged system with a movable furniture to compose a flexible space. In conclusion, the applications of hinged system concept of sliding, folding, over-hangings, are applied in existing one-room apartment plan to enhance flexible space planning which to drive in motivation and adaptation of the dweller's life cycle.
