콘크리트용 잔골재로서 폐기물 모래의 적용성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of Waste Sand as Concrete Fine Aggregate)

  • To the development on reusing method of the heat-source waste at Daegu Bisan dyeing-complex, this study is aimed to application of it's crushing material (hereafter waste sand) as concrete fine aggregate. The results are as follows; 1. Flow and unit weight of mortar using waste sand as concrete fine aggregate are decreased. 2. At the results of compressive strength test and bending strength test, mortar using waste sand superior to plain mortar within 80% substitute ratio of waste sand. Because increasing rate of compressive strength is similar through increasing age, waste sand performs as filler's function of no-effect with cement only. 3. At the results of concrete application test, unit weight of concrete using waste sand is similar to plain concrete and compressive strength of concrete is superior to plain likewise the results of mortar test

Point-level deep learning approach for 3D acoustic source localization

  • Even though several deep learning-based methods have been applied in the field of acoustic source localization, the previous works have only been conducted using the two-dimensional representation of the beamforming maps, particularly with the planar array system. While the acoustic sources are more required to be localized in a spherical microphone array system considering that we live and hear in the 3D world, the conventional 2D equirectangular map of the spherical beamforming map is highly vulnerable to the distortion that occurs when the 3D map is projected to the 2D space. In this study, a 3D deep learning approach is proposed to fulfill accurate source localization via distortion-free 3D representation. A target function is first proposed to obtain 3D source distribution maps that can represent multiple sources' positional and strength information. While the proposed target map expands the source localization task into a point-wise prediction task, a PointNet-based deep neural network is developed to precisely estimate the multiple sources' positions and strength information. While the proposed model's localization performance is evaluated, it is shown that the proposed method can achieve improved localization results from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives.

기준점에서의 물 흡수선량을 이용한 Ir-192 선원의 공기커마 세기 계산을 위한 알고리즘 개발 (The Development of Air-kerma Strength Calculation Algorithm in Terms of the Absorbed Dose to Water for HDR Ir-192 Source)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 Ir-192 선원의 검교정을 겉보기 방사능(apparent activity)을 이용하지 않고 물속 기준점에서 흡수선량을 측정함으로써 공기커마 세기(air-kerma strength, Sk)를 계산하고자 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 연구를 위하여 근접치료용 다목적 팬톰(multi purpose brachytherapy Phantom, MPBP)을 제작하였다. 물 흡수선량 측정은 고선량률 근접치료기(micro-Selectron, Nucletron, Netherlands)에 장착된 Ir-192 선원(Mallinckrodt Medical B.V., Netherlands)을 대상으로 측정하였다. 물 흡수선량은 몬테칼로 계산방법으로 계산된 이온전리함(TM30013, PTW, Germany)의 물 흡수선량 교정인자($N_{D.W.Q}$)를 이용하여 결정하였다. 물 흡수선량은 한 개의 선원에 대하여 4 cm에서 7 cm까지 측정하였다. 측정된 값은 전산화 치료계획 장치에서(plato BPS, ver 13.2, Nucletron, Netherlands) 계산된 값과 비교하였다. 공기커마 세기(Sk)는 기준점 5 cm되는 곳에서 3개의 Ir 선원에 대하여 구하였다. 계산된 공기커마 세기는 선원제조사에서 제공된 값과 비교하였다. 몬테칼로 계산방법으로 계산된 이온전리함의 물 흡수선량 교정인자는 5.28 cGy/nC이었다. 한 개 선원에서 측정한 물 흡수선량 값은 -2.16%에서 -0.84%까지 상대오차를 나타내었다. 공기커마 세기는 제조사에서 제공된 값과 비교하여 -0.6%에서 +1.8% 제조사 권고치 ${\pm}5%$ 이내로 잘 일치하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 알고리즘은 기준점에서의 물 흡수선량을 정확히 결정함으로써 선원의 공기커마 세기를 구할 수 있었다. 이러한 물 흡수선량을 통한 Ir-192 선원의 검교정 방법들은 미국의학물리학회(AAPM) 보고서 TG-43에서 권고한 흡수선량 계산 알고리즘에 바로 적용할 수 있는 것으로 사료된다.

지식이전 선행요인에 관한 다차원 분석: 사회적 자본 이론과 사회연결망 이론의 결합 (Multi-level Analysis of the Antecedents of Knowledge Transfer: Integration of Social Capital Theory and Social Network Theory)

  • Knowledge residing in the heads of employees has always been regarded as one of the most critical resources within a firm. However, many tries to facilitate knowledge transfer among employees has been unsuccessful because of the motivational and cognitive problems between the knowledge source and the recipient. Social capital, which is defined as "the sum of the actual and potential resources embedded within, available through, derived from the network of relationships possessed by an individual or social unit [Nahapiet and Ghoshal, 1998]," is suggested to resolve these motivational and cognitive problems of knowledge transfer. In Social capital theory, there are two research streams. One insists that social capital strengthens group solidarity and brings up cooperative behaviors among group members, such as voluntary help to colleagues. Therefore, social capital can motivate an expert to transfer his/her knowledge to a colleague in need without any direct reward. The other stream insists that social capital provides an access to various resources that the owner of social capital doesn't possess directly. In knowledge transfer context, an employee with social capital can access and learn much knowledge from his/her colleagues. Therefore, social capital provides benefits to both the knowledge source and the recipient in different ways. However, prior research on knowledge transfer and social capital is mostly limited to either of the research stream of social capital and covered only the knowledge source's or the knowledge recipient's perspective. Social network theory which focuses on the structural dimension of social capital provides clear explanation about the in-depth mechanisms of social capital's two different benefits. 'Strong tie' builds up identification, trust, and emotional attachment between the knowledge source and the recipient; therefore, it motivates the knowledge source to transfer his/her knowledge to the recipient. On the other hand, 'weak tie' easily expands to 'diverse' knowledge sources because it does not take much effort to manage. Therefore, the real value of 'weak tie' comes from the 'diverse network structure,' not the 'weak tie' itself. It implies that the two different perspectives on strength of ties can co-exist. For example, an extroverted employee can manage many 'strong' ties with 'various' colleagues. In this regards, the individual-level structure of one's relationships as well as the dyadic-level relationship should be considered together to provide a holistic view of social capital. In addition, interaction effect between individual-level characteristics and dyadic-level characteristics can be examined, too. Based on these arguments, this study has following research questions. (1) How does the social capital of the knowledge source and the recipient influence knowledge transfer respectively? (2) How does the strength of ties between the knowledge source and the recipient influence knowledge transfer? (3) How does the social capital of the knowledge source and the recipient influence the effect of the strength of ties between the knowledge source and the recipient on knowledge transfer? Based on Social capital theory and Social network theory, a multi-level research model is developed to consider both the individual-level social capital of the knowledge source and the recipient and the dyadic-level strength of relationship between the knowledge source and the recipient. 'Cross-classified random effect model,' one of the multi-level analysis methods, is adopted to analyze the survey responses from 337 R&D employees. The results of analysis provide several findings. First, among three dimensions of the knowledge source's social capital, network centrality (i.e., structural dimension) shows the significant direct effect on knowledge transfer. On the other hand, the knowledge recipient's network centrality is not influential. Instead, it strengthens the influence of the strength of ties between the knowledge source and the recipient on knowledge transfer. It means that the knowledge source's network centrality does not directly increase knowledge transfer. Instead, by providing access to various knowledge sources, the network centrality provides only the context where the strong tie between the knowledge source and the recipient leads to effective knowledge transfer. In short, network centrality has indirect effect on knowledge transfer from the knowledge recipient's perspective, while it has direct effect from the knowledge source's perspective. This is the most important contribution of this research. In addition, contrary to the research hypothesis, company tenure of the knowledge recipient negatively influences knowledge transfer. It means that experienced employees do not look for new knowledge and stick to their own knowledge. This is also an interesting result. One of the possible reasons is the hierarchical culture of Korea, such as a fear of losing face in front of subordinates. In a research methodology perspective, multi-level analysis adopted in this study seems to be very promising in management research area which has a multi-level data structure, such as employee-team-department-company. In addition, social network analysis is also a promising research approach with an exploding availability of online social network data.

Al-Si 도금된 보론강 레이저 소스에 따른 레이저 용접부의 미세조직과 기계적 성질에 미치는 핫스탬핑 처리의 영향 (Effect of Hot-stamping on Microstructures and Tensile Properties of Al-Si Coated Boron Steel Welds with Laser Source)

  • In this study, the effect of laser source($CO_2$ and Nd:YAG) on the microstructure and tensile properties of laser welded Al-Si coated boron steel(1.2mmt) was investigated with before and after hot-stamping. In case of as welds condition, fracture occurred in base metal unrelated to the laser source. It could be explained that tensile strength of fusion zone composed of martensite and bainite is higher than that of base metal that contains a lot of ferrite despite dilution of Al and Si from coating layer to fusion zone. In case of hot-stamping condition, the fracture occurred in fusion zone irrelevant to laser source and the tensile strength was lower than hot stamped base metal. In the $CO_2$ laser welds, $Fe_3$(Al,Si) formed near the bond line was transformed into ferrite during hot-stamping. Therefore tensile strength of bond line is lower than that of base metal and center of fusion zone and the fracture occurred in the bond line. On the other hand, in the Nd:YAG laser welds, the higher concentration of Al formed the ferrite in the fusion zone during hot-stamping treatment. Also, the thickness of centerline was thinner than that of base metal. Therefore, it is considered that fracture occurred in centerline of fusion zone due to effect of concentration stress, and it leaded to a lower tensile strength and elongation.

Development of an advanced atmospheric pressure plasma source with high spatial uniformity and selectiveness for surface treatment

  • In the last few decades, attention toward atmospheric pressure plasma (APP) has been greatly increased due to the numerous advantages of those applications, such as non-necessity of high vacuum facility, easy setup and operation, and low temperature operation. The practical applications of APP can be found in a wide spectrum of fields from the functionalization of material surfaces to sterilization of medical devices. In the secondary battery industry, separator film has been typically treated by APP to enhance adhesion strength between adjacent films. In this process, the plasma is required to have high stability and uniformity for better performance of the battery. Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) was usually adopted to limit overcurrent in the plasma, and we developed the pre-discharge technology to overcome the drawbacks of streamer discharge in the conventional DBD source which makes it possible to produce a super-stable plasma at atmospheric pressure. Simulations for the fluid flow and electric field were parametrically performed to find the optimized design for the linear jet plasma source. The developed plasma source (Plasmapp LJPS-200) exhibits spatial non-uniformity of less than 3%, and the adhesion strength between the separator and electrode films was observed to increase 17% by the plasma treatment.

On Sensor Network Routing for Cloaking Source Location Against Packet-Tracing

  • Most of existing routing methods in wireless sensor networks to counter the local eavesdropping-based packet-tracing deal with a single asset and suffer from the packet-delivery latency as they prefer to take a separate path of many hops for each packet being sent. Recently, the author proposed a routing method, GSLP-w(GPSR-based Source-Location Privacy with crew size w), that enhances location privacy of the packet-originating node(i.e., active source) in the presence of multiple assets, yet taking a path of not too long. In this paper, we present a refined routing(i.e., next-hop selection) procedure of it and empirically study privacy strength and delivery latency with varying the crew size w(i.e., the number of packets being sent per path). It turns out that GSLP-w offers the best privacy strength when the number of packets being sent per path is randomly chosen from the range [$1,h_{s-b}/4$] and that further improvements on the privacy are achieved by increasing the random walk length TTLrw or the probability prw that goes into random walk(where, $h_{s-b}$ is the number of hops of the shortest path between packet-originating node s and sink b).

주택 실내환경 VOCs의 발생량 및 감소량에 관한 연구 (A Study of Development of Evaluation on Source Strength and Deposition Constant of VOCs)

  • This study was performed in 30 selected apartments in Seoul, Asan and Daegu area which were constructed within 4 years and over 4 years, to measure the concentration of VOCs(benzene, toluene, xylene) from July, 2004 to September. Mean ratios of indoor to outdoor VOCs concentrations in the construction under 4 years were higher in 1 than average, I/O ratio of over 4 years were lower in 1. This was considered that the VOCs density influences indoor pollutant. For the indoor air quality estimation, the deposition constant and the source strength factor of toluene were $1.49{\pm}2.05\;hr^{-1}\;and\;36.95{\pm}52.26\;ppb/h$, respectively.

  • Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) is developing an empirical model for Korean Space Weather Prediction Center (KSWPC). This model predicts the geomagnetic storm strength (Dst minimum) by using only CME parameters, such as the source location (L), speed (V), earthward direction (D), and magnetic field orientation of an overlaying potential field at CME source region. To derive an empirical formula, we considered that (1) the direction parameter has best correlation with the storm strength (2) west $15^{\circ}$ offset from the central meridian gives best correlation between the source location and the storm strength (3) consideration of two groups of CMEs according to their magnetic field orientation (southward or northward) provide better forecast. In this talk, we introduce current status of the empirical storm prediction model development.

표준공액구배법과 수정공액구배법을 이용한 2차원 열전도 문제의 역해석 (An Inverse Analysis of Two-Dimensional Heat Conduction Problem Using Regular and Modified Conjugate Gradient Method)

  • A two-dimensional transient inverse heat conduction problem involving the estimation of the unknown location, ($X^*$, $Y^*$), and timewise varying unknown strength, $G({\tau})$, of a line heat source embedded inside a rectangular bar with insulated boundaries has been solved simultaneously. The regular conjugate gradient method, RCGM and the modified conjugate gradient method, MCGM with adjoint equation, are used alternately to estimate the unknown strength $G({\tau})$ of the source term, while the parameter estimation approach is used to estimate the unknown location ($X^*$, $Y^*$) of the line heat source. The alternate use of the regular and the modified conjugate gradient methods alleviates the convergence difficulties encountered at the initial and final times (i.e ${\tau}=0$ and ${\tau}={\tau}_f$), hence stabilizes the computation and fastens the convergence of the solution. In order to examine the effectiveness of this approach under severe test conditions, the unknown strength $G({\tau})$ is chosen in the form of rectangular, triangular and sinusoidal functions.
