A vibrational model of powder transfer equipment based on the lumped parameter method was developed, in which the operating motion consists of surging, bouncing, and pitching. After decoupling the equation of motion, the vibrational excitation source of the pitching motion was removed. So the designers are able to plan the optimum design to adjust the motion trajectory of the powder transfer equipment. That is, a procedure to adjust the motion trajectory of powder transfer equipment by changing design specifications such as the installation position, the direction of the motor, the driving speed, the mass unbalance, the stiffness coefficient, and the installation position of the support spring, is presented in this paper. The powder transfer equipment manufactured according to the results of this study did not suffer fatigue destruction, since the maximum stress on the basket structure was sufficiently small.

The distribution of oil film thickness in piston were measured by induced fluorescence method. A Xe lamp was used as light source. Coumarine-6 was mixed with oil as the fluorescent dye. Fluorescent signal which is proportional to the oil film thickness was acquired by CCD camera and transmitted to the personal computer as video signal. In order to solve the problem of measurement system, irregular distribution and unstability of light intensity, as well as to know the relationship between the oil film thickness and output signal, three different calibration techniques were used. Motoring and firing tests were performed in a single cylinder research engine with transparent liner. By analyzing the oil film thickness converted from the photographed image, it was observed that each of three piston rings scrapes the oil both upward and downward and oil film thickness is not uniform horizontally at a given piston land. The amount of oil in each land was considerably affected by the engine load. It is thought that the blow-by gas blows the oil down to the crankcase.

The power comparison techniques have implemented power measurements, in which a power comparator is used to balance ac against a dc power obtained from known values. The developed power standard system using the comparison techniques consists of dc sources, ac source, control switches, resistive voltage dividers, resistive shunts and a power comparator. The total uncertainty of the power standard system was proved by analysis of the component instruments. Its expanded(k=2) uncertainty is evaluated to be less than 30 uW/VA at unit power factor and 42 uW/VA at power factor 0.5

For the assessment of the level of stream pollution, SWAT-WASP model linked with GIS was applied to a respresentative rural watershed and evaluated for its applicability through calibration and verfication using observed data. Using daily water yields, sediment yields and nutrient discharge simulated by SWAT model, WASP input file was build. Point source pollutant and water quality change in stream was considered in WASP model. For the model applicatiion , digital maps were constructed for watershed boundary, ladn-use , soil series , digital elevation, and topographic data of Bok-Ha watershed using GRASS. The model application results showed that the simulated runoff was in a good agreement with the observed data and indicated reasonable applicability of the model.

In this paper, an experimental study on the hydroelastic behaviors of a VLFS with L=5,000m was made considering a breakwater. The principal dimensions of the VLFS model were 9m${\times}$1.8${\times}$0.0108m(L${\times}$B${\times}$D) and the length of breakwater was 12.6m (1.4L). The distance between the VLFS and the breakwater varied from B/2 to 28. The wide tank test results were compared with the numerical predictions and the comparison showed a little gap along its longitudinal axis, in spite of using the very small model size due to the scale 1/555.5
We present a GUI-based interactive Python program, VIMAP, which generates radio spectral index maps of active galactic nuclei (AGN) from Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) maps obtained at different frequencies. VIMAP is a handy tool for the spectral analysis of synchrotron emission from AGN jets, specifically of spectral index distributions, turn-over frequencies, and core-shifts. In general, the required accurate image alignment is difficult to achieve because of a loss of absolute spatial coordinate information during VLBI data reduction (self-calibration) and/or intrinsic variations of source structure as function of frequency. These issues are overcome by VIMAP which in turn is based on the two-dimensional cross-correlation algorithm of Croke & Gabuzda (2008). In this paper, we briefly review the problem of aligning VLBI AGN maps, describe the workflow of VIMAP, and present an analysis of archival VLBI maps of the active nucleus 3C 120.
Optical signals from an object may vary at different conditions caused by differences in light source and sensor position. Knowledge of these variations is necessary to enable calibration of the satellite images and confirmation of the sun and sensor angles influences of the spectral signals from the objects. With the use high -resolution Ikonos$^{TM}$ multi-angular images, the bi- directional reflectance effects of mangrove trees were observed when three datasets were compared. The influence of bi- directional reflectance may affect the accuracy of interpreting satellite imagery and obtaining biophysical parameters mangrove and other vegetation by indirect means.
An optical method of measuring hematocrit noninvasively is presented. An LED Light with multiple wavelengths was irradiated on fingernail and transmitted light from the finger was measured to predict hematocrit. A finger probe contained an LED array and detector. Our previous experience showed that prediction accuracy was sensitive to reliability of the finger probe hardware and we optimized the finger probe parameters such as the internal color, detector area and the emission area of a light source based on Design of Experiment. Using the optimized finger probe, we developed a hematocrit monitoring system and tested with 549 persons. For the calibration model with 368 persons, a regression coefficient of 0.74 and a standard deviation of 3.67 and the mean percent error of $8\%$ were obtained. Hematocrits for 181 persons were predicted. We achieved a mean percent error of $8.2\%$ where the regression coefficient was 0.68 and the standard deviation was 3.69.

A 1.8V 2-Gb/s scalable low voltage signaling (SLVS) transmitter (TX) is designed for mobile applications requiring high speed and low power consumption. It consists of 4-lane TX for data transmission, 1-lane TX for a source synchronous clocking, and a 8-phase clock generator. The proposed SLVS TX has the scaling voltage swing from 50 mV to 650 mV and supports a high speed (HS) mode and a low power (LP) mode. An output impedance calibration scheme for the SVLS TX is proposed to improve the signal integrity. The proposed SLVS TX is implemented by using a 0.18-${\mu}m$ 1-poly 6-metal CMOS with a 1.8 V supply. The simulated data jitter of the implemented SLVS TX is about 8.04 ps at the data rate of 2-Gb/s. The area and power consumption of the 1-lane of the proposed SLVS TX are $422{\times}474{\mu}m^2$ and 5.35 mW/Gb/s, respectively.
Urbanization from agricultural/forest areas has been causing increased runoff and pollutant loads from it. Thus, numerous models have been developed to estimate NPS loading from urban area and Long-Term Hydrologic Impact Analysis (L-THIA) model has been used to evaluate effects of landuse changes on runoff and pollutant loads. However, the L-THIA model could not consider rainfall intensity in runoff evaluation. Therefore, the L-THIA model, capable of simulating runoff using 10-minute rainfall data, was applied to the study areas for evaluation of estimated runoff and NPS. The estimated Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient (NSE) values were over 0.6 for runoff, BOD, TN, and TP for most sites and watershed. The calibrated model was further extended to other counties for pollutant load potential evaluation. Pollutant load potential maps were developed and target areas were identified. As shown in this study, the L-THIA 2012 can be used for evaluation runoff and pollutant loads with limited data sets and its estimation could be used in identifying pollutant load hot spot areas for implementation of site-specific Best Management Practices.
