  • Boron doped conducting diamond thin film were grown on Si substrate by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition from a gaseous feed of hydrogen, acetone/methanol and solid boron. The doping level of boron was controlled from 0ppm to $10^4$ppm (B/C). The Si substrate was tilted ca. 10$^{\circ}$ to make Si substrate have different height and temperature. Experimental results show that same condition but different temperature of Si substrate by height made different crystalline of diamond thin film. There were appeared 3$\sim$4 step of different crystalline morphology of diamond. To characterize the boron-doped diamond thin film, Raman spectroscopy was used for identification of crystallinity. To survey surface morphology, microscope was used. Grain size was changed gradually by different temperature due to different height. The Raman spectrum of film exhibited a sharp peak at 1334$cm^{-1}$, which is characteristic of crystalline diamond. The lower position of diamond film position, the more non-diamond component peak appeared near 1550$cm^{-1}$.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the sonophysical and sonochemical effects induced by acoustic cavitation in heterogeneous systemin a 28 kHz double-bath reactor using calorimetry, the aluminiumfoil erosion test, and the luminol test. With no glass beads, calorimetric power in the inner vessel increased as much as the outer sonoreactor lost and total calorimetric power was maintained for various liquid height conditions (0.5 ~ 7 cm) in the vessel. Higher calorimetric energy was obtained at higher liquid height conditions. Similar results were obtained when glass beads were placed with various beads heights (0.5 ~ 2.0 cm) and relatively high calorimetric energy was obtained in spite of large attenuation in the glass beads layer. An aluminium foil placed between the bottom of the inner vessel and the glass beads layer was damaged, indicating significant sonophysical effects. Much less damage was detected when the foil was placed above the beads layer due to large attenuation of ultrasound. Sonochemical effects, visualized by sonochemiluminescence (SCL), also decreased significantly when the beads were placed in the vessel. It was established that the optimization of the liquid height above the solid-material layer could enhance the sonophysical and sonochemical effects in the double-bath sonoreactors.

  • Prefabricated partially-encased composite (PEC) structural component is widely used in construction industry due to its superior structural performance and easy assembly characteristic. However, the solid web in traditional PEC components tends to split concrete into two halves, thus potentially reduces structural integrity and requires double concrete pouring. To overcome the above disadvantages, a new PEC beam with open-web π-shaped steel is proposed in this paper. Four open-web PEC beams with varying sectional height, flange thickness and web void rate were constructed and tested under flexural loads. During experimental tests, all beams exhibited typical flexural failure modes with strong moment capacities and excellent ductility. Owing to the unique construction form of web opening, steel-concrete bonding properties were enhanced and very small relative steel-concrete slips were observed. Experimental results also showed that the flexural capacity of such PEC beams increased with the increase of the sectional height and flange thickness, while was not affected by the web void rate. At last, a flexural capacity formula of the open-web PEC beam was proposed based on the whole section plastic rule. The formula results agreed well with experimental results.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of physical type and age on preference for color and fabric motifs in women's clothing design. Color preference measures consisted of fabric samples in solid colors and drawings of clothing styles painted in colors. Preference for fabric motifs was assessed by printed fabrics in various patterns and sizes. All of the preference measures were devised specifically for this study. Furthermore, items on height and weight for physical type as well as age of the subjects were included in the questionnaire. Data were obtained by means of structured interviews and self-administered questionnaires from 588 women ($20\~60$ years of age) in seoul. Analysis was by chi-square ($X^{2}$), frequency, percentage, and mean. On color preference, a small but significant body type, height, and age effect was found on some types of clothing. Preference for fabric motifs was affected by body type; height of subjects was related to preference for size of motifs, and age was related to choice, size, and width of striped motifs. It was concluded that body type, height, and age are 1e3st effective in predicting color preference. Fabric motif preference was influenced more by age than by body type or height. Generally, there was some similarities in preference for lines and fabric patterns among slim body types, tall figures, and younger age groups as well as heavy body types, short figures, and older age groups.

  • Statement of problem: Currently, there are some 20 different geometric variations in implant/abutment interface available. The geometry is important because it is one of the primary determinants of joint strength, joint stability, locational and rotational stability. Purpose: As the effects of the various implant-abutment connections and the prosthesis height variation on stress distribution are not yet examined this study is to focus on the different types of implant-abutment connection and the prosthesis height using three dimensional finite element analysis. Material and method. The models were constructed with ITI, 3i TG, Bicon, Frialit-2 fixtures and solid abutment, TG post, Bicon post, EstheticBase abutment respectively. And the super structures were constructed as mandibular second premolar shapes with 8.5 mm, 11 mm, 13.5 mm of crown height. In each model, 244 N of vertical load and 244 N of $30^{\circ}$ oblique load were placed on the central pit of an occlusal surface. von Mises stresses were recorded and compared in the crowns, abutments, fixtures. Results: 1. Under the oblique loading, von Mises stresses were larger in the crown, abutment, fixture compared to the vertical loading condition. 2. The stresses were increased proportionally to the crown height under oblique loading but showed little differences with three different crown heights under vertical loading. 3. In the crown, the highest stress areas were loading points under vertical loading, and the finish lines under oblique loading. 4. Under the oblique loading, the higher stresses were located in the fixture/abutment interface of the Bicon and Frialit-2 systems compared to the ITI and TG systems. Conclusions: The stress distribution patterns of each implant-abutment system had difference among them and adequate crown height/implant ratio was important to reduce the stresses around the implants.

  • The analysis of temperature distribution and change of metallic structures during water quench were presented by finite element method. In temperature calculation the equation of unsteady state hear conduction problem considering latent heat due to phase transformation was applied to finite solid cylinder, SM 45C of 40mm diameter and 40mm height. In metallic structure analysis iso-thermal transformation curve and the equations of evolution in pearlite-martensite transformation were applied. The calculated results upon temperature and metallic structures were agreed with those of experimental observations.

  • An experimental investigation was conducted in order to determine the flammability limit of the solid fuel ramjet using the backward facing step flow combustion of the plexiglass grain. In order to get the different step height ratio, the grain was drilled straight forward or stepwise. The Phoenics computer code was adopted in order to compare. the flow patterns of the some sample tests using a non-reacting cold turbulent flow model. The stepwise grain give some loading advantage; specially thin and long shape grain design.

  • One row of pollen parent to two rows of seed parent (1:2), 2:4 and solid (1:2) planting patterns (PP) were compared in seed parent densities of 3,500, 5,000 and 6,500 plants per 10 ares to determine effects of PP and plant density on growths of seed and pollen plants, and seed yield of seed parent of modified single cross corn hybrid. Planting pattern did not significantly affect agronomic characteristics of seed plant except ear number per 100 plants and seed yield which were greater in solid and 1:2 PP than in 2:4 PP. Significant PP x plant density interaction did not exist for agronomic characteristics of seed parent. In the seed parent, plant height and 100 kernel weight were not affected by plant density, but ear height, ear number per 100 plants, and kernel number per ear were linearly decreased with increased plant densities. Seed yield ranged from 330 to 460 kg per 10 ares and overall yield response to plant density was quadratic. Tassel length and spikelet number per tassel of the pollen parent were significantly affected by PP and plant density. Significant PP x plant density interaction existed for tassel length and spikelet number per tassel. Tassel length and spikelet number per tassel were greater in 1:2 and 2:4 PP compared to solid PP and were greatly reduced with increased plant densities in solid and 1:2 PP. The results indicated that 1:2 or 2:4 PP at around 5,000 plants per 10 ares for seed parent would be suitable for seed production of modified single cross com hybrid.

  • Circulating fluidized bed system consists of SEWGS reactor - lower loop seal - regeneration reactor - riser - cyclone - upper loop seal has been used for solid circulation between the SEWGS reactor and the regeneration reactor in a SEWGS system for pre-combustion $CO_2$ capture. A vertical type lower loop seal has been used in current system but this lower loop seal requires high gas flow rate through the lower loop seal for fluidization and smooth solid circulation, and consequently, causes slugging behavior sometimes. To overcome these disadvantages, inclined type lower loop seal was proposed by this study. Solid circulation characteristics with change of lower loop seal geometry were measured and compared in a bubbling - bubbling - riser type circulating fluidized bed using $CO_2$ absorbent (P-78) as bed material at ambient temperature and pressure. We could conclude that the inclined lower loop seal is better than the vertical type lower loop seal from the viewpoints of minimum flow rate requirement for stable solid circulation and solid height change during solid circulation.

  • In this study, grain size distribution of dredged soil and suspended solid distribution of supernatant in containment area were measured and compared with design prediction for suitability evaluation on prediction of suspended solid concentration of supernatant in conventional design of containment area. In addition to that, relationship were also analyzed between current velocity and suspended solid concentration of supernatant. Evaluation results show a relatively good agreement between field measurement and design prediction. On contrast, field measurement and design prediction show a quite different value each other in the early stage of dredging or at a point that current velocity increases. It is believed that this is due to that conventional design method of containment area does not account for ponding depth and current velocity which change sensitively with dredging period. Since current velocity and distribution of suspended solid concentration measured simultaneously show a similar trend, it is observed that there exists a close relationship between current velocity and distribution of suspended solid concentration. Therefore, a new design method for containment area, which can consider sedimentation of suspended solid that changes with interface height of dredged soil, ponding depth, current speed of supernatant, is necessary in order to predict the situation change of containment area more precisely.
