Electrical Properties of $BaTiO_3$ System Thick Films Prepared by Screen-Printing Method

  • [ $(Ba,Sr,Ca)TiO_3$ ] powders, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with an organic vehicle and the BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen printing techniques on alumina substrates. The grain size decreased with increasing amounts of $MnO_2$, and the BSCT(50/40/10) thick film doped with 1wt% $MnO_2$ showed a value of 6.5mm. The thickness of thick films by four-cycle on printing/drying was approximately 100mm. The relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tunability of the BSCT(S0/40/10) thick films doped with 1.0wt% $MnO_2$ were 1296, 0.61% and 11.18%, respectively.

  • Self-standing mesoporous bioactive glass/poly($\varepsilon$-caprolactone) composite thin films with good molding capability, bioactivity, and biocompatibility in vitro, which may find potential applications in tissue engineering and drug storage, were prepared using a combination of the sol-gel, polymer templating, and water casting method. The thickness of self-standing films was affected by the difference of dielectric constant between distilled water and organic solvent.

  • $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ thin films are fabricated by Sol-Gel method and humidity sensing properties have been investigated. As the results of humidity sensing properties of thin films fabricated as humidity sensor, it is confirmed to have good humidity sensing properties in high humidity and low frequency regions.

  • Pb(Zr, Ti)$O_3$ ferroelectric thin layers were deposited onto Pt/$SiO_2$/Si substrates by Sol-Gel processing and annealed by RTA at $600^{\circ}C$ for $20{\sim}30\;sec$. microstructure of the films was examined by XRD and SEM analysis. Electrical properties of PZT thin films with different Zr/Ti ratio yield $P_r$ ranging $10{\sim}21{\mu}C/cm^2$, $E_c$, ranging $37.5{\sim}137.5\;kV/cm$, switching times faster than 180nsec, and leakage current about $20{\mu}A/cm^2$. The film was endured about $10^{10}$ fatigue cycles.

  • $900^{\circ}C$에서 합성된 코디에라이트의 합성 방법인 졸겔방법은 구리와 세라믹간의 상호 열처리를 가능하게 해준다. 구리와 코디에라이트 기판과의 강한 결합은 eutectic bonding 기술로 얻어질 수 있다. 구리와 코디에라이트의 접촉면에서 미시적 특성을 STEM을 이용하여 연구하였는데 구리의 확산은 강한 화학적, 구조적 변화와 함께 접촉면 영역에서 이루어지고 있다. 비록 이들 접촉면이 강한 접촉력을 가지고 있지만 접촉면에서 구리화합물의 형성에 대한 명백한 입증을 얻어내지는 못하였다.

  • A micromirror actuated by piezoelectric unimorph cantilevers is proposed as a tine-tracking device for high-density optical data storage. Bending motions of the metal/PZT/metal unimorphs translate an integrated micromirror along the out-of-plane vertical direction. The micromirror alters the optical path of the incident laser beam and linearly steers the reflected laser beam by its out-of-plane parallel actuation. Numerical analysis shows that the actuated micromirror can satisfy the tracking speed imposed by the requirement on the access time for the high-density optical data storage up to few tens Gbitlin2 owing to the light mass of the micromirror. In this paper, preliminary characteristics of the micro-machined PZT actuated micromirror (PAM) are reported. Only a 360 nm-thick PZT film deposited by sol-gel process shows both good electrical and mechanical characteristics for the fine-tracking actuator. The micromirror can be easily actuated up to several micrometers under low voltage operation condition well below 10 volts.

감광유리를 이용한 MEMS 촉매 연소기의 제작 및 성능 평가 (Fabrication and Performance Test of MEMS Catalytic Combustors Using Photosensitive Glass Wafer)

  • MEMS catalytic combustors were fabricated to use in micro-power sources as a heat source. The combustor was fabricated by photolithography and anisotropic wet etching of photosensitive glass wafers. Two different catalyst loading methods were used to complete the fabrication of the combustors. For thin film type, the $Al_2O_3$ was washcoated on the surface of the combustion chamber as a catalyst support, and for packed-bed type, ceramic foam was inserted after Pt was coated. The volume of the combustors was 1.8 $cm^3$ and 16W of heat was generated using the fabricated combustors with hydrogen. The energy density of combustor was about 8.9 W/$cm^3$.

  • [ $YBa_2C_3O_{7-x}$ ]films were fabricated on a $SrTiO_3$ (100) substrate using a trimethylaceate propionic acid (TMAP)-based MOD process by controlling the precursor solution viscosity, firing temperature, and by using various coatings. The viscosity of the precursor solution was controlled by the addition of Xylenes. The films were heat treated with different temperatures from 750 to $800^{\circ}C$. c-axis oriented films were obtained. After adding 9 ml of Xylene into the precursor solution, the $T_c$ of the YBCO film, which was coated 2 times and heat treated at $800^{\circ}C$, was 86 K and the measured $J_c$ was above 2.5 MA/$cm^2$ at 77 K in a zero-field.

  • 9/65/35 PLZT thin films were prepared by sol-gel processing and annealed by direct insertion, 9/65/35 PLZT thin films were poly-crystallized after direct insertion at $750^{\circ}C$ for 3omin. The grain size of film was 50 nm, coercive field was 28.2 kV/cm and remnant polarization was $3.68 {\mu}C/cm^2$.

  • The effects of In and Ga contents on characteristics of InGaZnO (IGZO) films grown by a sol-gel method and their thin film transistors (TFTs) have been investigated. Excess In incorporation into IGZO enhances the field effect mobilities of the TFTs due to the increase in conducting path ways, and decreases the grain size and the surface roughness of the films because more $InO_2^-$ ions induce cubic stacking faults with IGZO. Ga incorporation into results in decrease in carrier concentration of films and off-current of TFTs since Ga ion forms stronger chemical bonds with oxygen than Zn and In ions, acting as a carrier killer.
