산화물박막 증착에 의한 금속 메쉬전극 구조 광전기화학셀의 효율 개선에 관한 연구 (Efficiency Improvement of Metal-Mesh Electrode Type Photoelectrochemical Cells by Oxides Layer Coatings)

  • In this work, the $TiO_2$ and $SnO_2$ thin films as blocking layers were coated directly onto the metal-mesh electrode surface to prevent unnecessary inflow of back-transfer electrons from the electrolyte ($I^-/I_3^-$) to the metal-mesh electrode. The DSCs were fabricated with working electrode of SUS mesh coated with blocking $TiO_2$ and $SnO_2$ layers, dye-attached mesoporous $TiO_2$ film, gel electrolyte and counter electrode of Pt-deposited F:$SnO_2$. From the experimental result, it was ascertained that the efficiency of metal electrode coated with $TiO_2$ by Dip-coating was superior to that of metal electrode coated with $SnO_2$ by Dip-coating and screen printing with the results of experiments. The photo-current conversion efficiency of the cell obtained from optimum fabrication condition was 3% ($V_{oc}$=0.61V, $J_{sc}$=11.64 mA/$cm^2$, ff=0.64) under AM1.5, 100 mW/$cm^2$ illumination.

SiO2\TiO2 박막에 의한 투명 발수 반사방지 코팅 (Transparent Hydrophobic Anti-Reflection Coating with SiO2\TiO2 Thin Layers)

  • 태양전지의 셀을 보호하기 위한 커버 글라스에는 반사방지 코팅 및 셀프클리닝과 같은 기능성 코팅이 적용되어왔다. 일반적으로 메조포러스 실리카를 이용한 반사방지 코팅은 빛의 투과를 증가시키며, $TiO_2$ 광촉매 필름은 셀프클리닝 코팅에 적용되어왔다. 본 연구에서는 $SiO_2/TiO_2$ 박막 코팅에 의한 투명 발수 반사방지 및 셀프클리닝 코팅을 sol-gel 공정과 dip-coating 공정으로 글라스 기판 위에 제조하였다. 기능성 코팅의 표면형상은 전계방출 주사전자현미경과 원자힘 현미경으로 분석하였고, 광학적 특성은 UV-visible 분광광도계로 분석하였다. 필름의 발수특성은 접촉각 측정으로 확인하였다. 그 결과 $TiO_2$ 필름은 기판인 슬라이드 글라스와 비슷한 수준의 높은 광 투과율을 나타내었다. 일반적으로 $TiO_2$ 나노입자는 필름에서 반사를 증가시키며, 결과적으로 투과율의 저하를 가져온다. 하지만 본 연구의 $SiO_2/TiO_2$ 박막으로 이루어진 기능성 코팅은 $110^{\circ}$의 접촉각을 나타내었으며, 파장 550 nm에서 기판인 슬라이드 글라스의 투과율보다 2.0% 증가한 93.5%의 광 투과율 특성을 나타내었다.

디젤엔진 배가스 처리를 위한 세라믹 필터 촉매코팅에 관한 연구 (A Study on catalyst-coated ceramic filter for diesel engine exhaust-gas treatment)

  • 본 연구는 디젤엔진에서 배출되는 NOx환원용 촉매로서 산화반응에서 우수한 활성을 나타내고 있는 페롭스카이트상의 $LaCoO_3$을 sol-gel 공정을 이용하여 촉매코팅용액을 제조한 후, 이를 기존의 dip-coating방법보다 코팅시간, 코팅량, NO-CO 산화 환원 반응에 있어서 경제적이고 효율적인 modified dip-coating방법을 이용하여 촉매코팅필터를 제조하고 이를 후처리장치에 부착함으로써 디젤엔진에서 배출되는 배가스를 효과적으로 제거시키고자 한다. 실험결과, modified dip-coating방법이 기존의 dip-coating방법에 비해서 코팅에 소요되는 용액량이 8.3배 코팅시간 83.3배 단축되었으며, 코팅량은 2~3배정도 커지고, NO-CO 산화 환원 반응성도 1.1~1.8배 가량 증가하였다. 그리고 코팅점도는 $0.006202kg{\cdot}m/sec$을 이용하여 코팅횟수 2회, 코팅량은 88.56mg/g에서 우수한 반응을 보였다. 또한 세라믹 필터의 셀수에 있어서는 200 CPSI가 적절함을 확인할 수 있다.

  • Silica coating on ZnS particles with buffer solution has been investigated. Diluted sodium silicate in water was used as the precursor material and it was diluted in water. Sodium silicate was added drop-wise in the continuously stirred suspension of ZnS in the buffer solution at room temperature. Smooth and evenly distributed silica coated ZnS phosphors has been obtained when the pH of buffer solution was 10, the concentration of sodium silicate in water was 20 wt%, firing temperature was 500 $^{\circ}C$.

  • Model equations for the gas permeation through a ceramic composite membrane were derived for examining the existence of crack, the reproducibility, and the microstructural properties of composite membranes. From the results of analyzing the nitrogen permeability data through alumina-tube supported TiO2 and SiO2 composite membranes, the extent of cracking, and the formation and structure of membrane top-layers were modelled. It was proved that the crack-free and reproducible composite membranes could be easily prepared only by the pore-filled coating within pores of the support in the sol-gel coating process.

졸-겔법에 의한 CdS 분산$SiO_2$ Glass 박막의 비선형광학특성

  • Recently semiconductor doped glasses have attracted attention as nonlinear optical materials because of their large third order nonlinear optical properties. The transparent and homogeneous CdS-doped SiO2 glass thin films were obtained by the dip=coating process of the sol-gel method. Thin films were consisted of glasses containing CdS microcrystallites which were formed by dissolved Cd2+ and S2- ions in a SiO2 matrix solutions. A subsequent thermal treatment of this samples led the formation of colloidal agglomerates and finally of microcrystallites. The size of CdS microcrystallites was about 4 to 15 nm after thermal treatments at various heating conditions. From the optical absorption spectra of the CdS-doped SiO2 glass films it was found that the absorption edge was blue-shifted compared with that of the bulk CdS crystal(~2, 4 eV) and that the amount of energy shift was inversely proportional to the crystal size. And the band gap energy increased with the decrease in crystallite size indicating that the quantum size effects occured.

Preparation of Highly Oriented ZnO Thin Films Prepared by Sol-Gel Method

  • Highly oriented ZnO thin films were fabricated by dip-coating technique using zinc acetate 2-methoxyethanol 2-aminoethanol solution as starting materials, and effects of substrates on the film's orientation were investigated. Product films were obtained by prefiring at 300, 400, 500 and 550℃ for 10 min, followed by final heat-treatment at the same temperatures as prefiring for 1h. c-axis oriented films on glass substrates were prepared by heat treatment of prefiring films at 300-550℃, while films on alumina showed polycrystalline structure. Films with c-axis orientation exhibited lower specific resistivities than those of polycrystalline films with partial crack and pore.

Crystallinity and Battery Properties of Lithium Manganese Oxide Spinel with Lithium Titanium Oxide Spinel Coating Layer on Its Surface

  • In this study, lithium manganese oxide spinel ($LiMn_{1.9}Fe_{0.1}Nb_{0.0005}O_4$) as a cathode material of lithium ion secondary batteries is synthesized with spray drying, and in order to increase its crystallinity and electrochemical properties, the granulated $LiMn_{1.9}Fe_{0.1}Nb_{0.0005}O_4$ particle surface is coated with lithium titanium oxide spinel ($Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$) through a sol-gel method. The granulated particles present a higher tap density and lower specific surface area. The crystallinity and discharge capacity of the $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$ coated material is relatively higher than uncoated material. With the coating layer, the discharge capacity and cycling stability are increased and the capacity fading is suppressed successfully.

  • The Powder characteristics and sintering behavior of $SiO_2$ coated $BaTiO_3$ were studied. Silica coated $BaTiO_3$ powders were prepared by sol-gel method. The particle size of the $BaTiO_3$ powders were $\sim35$ nm and the thickness of the $SiO_2$ coating layer was $\sim5$ nm. As the $SiO_2$ content increased, the $SiO_2$ layers improved the powder dispersion. The Zeta potential of $SiO_2$ coated $BaTiO_3$ was getting close to that of pure silica with a more negative charge, compared with that of the uncoated $BaTiO_3$. The onset temperature of shrinkage curves shifted to higher temperatures with increasing $SiO_2$ contents

알루미나 첨가가 플라즈마 용사된 세리아계 전해질체 코팅츠의 미세구조 및 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Alumina Addition on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Plasma-Sparayed Ceria Based Electrolyte Coatings)

  • Alumina were added to ceria based ceramic powders upto 9.7 vol% and composite powders were sprayed by plasma spraying process in order to improve the mechanical properties such as hardness fracture tough-ness and thermal shock resistance. The ceria based coating sprayed without alumina has the typical colum-nar and lamellar structure. Alumina addition has lowered the amount of columnar and lamellar sturcture Added alumina was segreagated in the grain boundary and grain of ceria based crystal accompanied with pore. The maximum value of density and the minimum value of porosity were observed at the sprayed coating with 4.8 vol% alumina. The hardness fracture toughness and thermal shock resistance were increased with alumina addition. The improvement of mechanical properties of plasma sparyed ceria based coatings result-ed from the disapperance of the columnar and lamellar sturcture by addition of alumina.
