The damper oil seal of a high-speed railway vehicle is made from nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) in order to prevent lubricant from leaking into the damper and to stop harmful contaminants from entering the external environment while in service. Oil leakage through the seal primarily occurs from fatigue failure of the damper. Cumulative damage of the seal occurs due to the contact force between the rod and the rubber during movement due to track irregularities and cants, among other factors. Thus, the design of the oil seal should minimize the maximum principal strain at weak points. In this study, the optimal cross section of the damper oil seal was found using the multi-island genetic algorithm method to improve the durability of the damper. The optimal shape of the oil seal was derived using process automation and design optimization software. Nonlinear material properties for finite element analysis (FEA) of the rubber were determined by Marlow's model. The nonlinear FEA confirmed that the maximum principal strain at the oil leakage point was decreased 24% between the initial design and the optimum design.
This paper suggests the energy-efficient message delivery scheme and the software platform which exploits the multiple network interfaces of the mobile terminals and GPS in the current mobile devices. The mobile terminals determine the delivery method among 'direct', 'indirect', and 'WAN' based on the position information of itself and other terminals. 'Direct' method sends a message directly to the target terminal using local RAT. 'Indirect' method extends the service area by exploiting intermediate terminals as relay node. If the target terminal is too far to reach through 'direct' or 'indirect' method, the message is sent using wireless WAN technology. Our proposed scheme exploits the position information and, thus, power consumption is drastically reduced in determining handover time and direction. Network simulation results show that our proposed delivery scheme improves the message transfer efficiency and the handover detection latency. We implemented a message platform in a smart phone realizing the proposed delivery scheme. We compared our platform with other typical message platforms from energy efficiency aspect by observing the real power consumption and applying the mathematical modeling. The comparison results show that our platform requires significantly less power.

In this paper, we have proposed on the Matching Table of 'Type of If Business - Class of IT Techniques' to train If manpower as an educational-industrial cooperation. The Type of If Business(TITB) are classified according to ${\triangle}$IT Services, ${\triangle}$IT Devices, and ${\triangle}$Software & Computer related Services which are guided by KAIT(Korea Association of Information & Telecommunication). The Class of IT Techniques(CITT) are brought from IITA(Institute for Information Technology Advancement). We have suggested on the element techniques from the Class of If Techniques(CITT) according to the Type of IT Business(TITB) and proposed an educational-industrial cooperation program to line up 'Type of IT Business(TITB) - Class of IT Techniques(CITT) - University(Department/Major)'. The deduction process of the core education program is presented to show the educational-industrial cooperation between company(Type of IT Business : Digital Contents Development Service) and university(Major of Multimedia & Contents) in the Busan area. The Matching Table of 'Type of IT Business(TITB) - Class of IT Techniques(CITT)' varies as the way of classification according to IT Business and IT Techniques. The research on the real and exact Matching Table of 'Type of IT Business(TITB) - Class of IT Techniques(CITT)' is necessary for educational-industrial cooperation by the trends of techniques and the changes of IT market share.
A mobile phone has became as a payment tool in e-commerce and on-line banking areas. This trend of a payment system using various types of mobile devices is rapidly growing, especially in the Internet transaction and small-money payment. Hence, there will be a need to define its standard for secure and safe payment technology. In this thesis, we consider the service types of the current mobile payments and the authentication method, investigate the disadvantages, problems and their solutions for smart and secure payment. Also, we propose a novel authentication method which is easily adopted without modification and addition of the existed mobile hardware platform. Also, we present a simple implementation as a demonstration version. Based on virtual machine (VM) approach, the proposed model is to use a pseudo-random number which is confirmed by the VM in a user's mobile phone and then is sent to the authentication site. This is more secure and safe rather than use of a random number received by the previous SMS. For this payment operation, a user should register the serial number at the first step after downloading the VM software, by which can prevent the illegal payment use by a mobile copy-phone. Compared with the previous SMS approach, the proposed method can reduce the amount of packet size to 30% as well as the time. Therefore, the VM-based method is superior to the previous approaches in the viewpoint of security, packet size and transaction time.
Purpose - This study aimed to (a) investigate the effects of emotional intelligence on customer orientation, (b) examine the impact of customer orientation on customer relationship management (CRM) performance (including CRM-related variables such as 'relationship commitment,' 'image of corporation,' and 'customer loyalty'), and (c) identify the conceptual framework of emotional intelligence. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were collected using a questionnaire given to a sample of employees of luxury hotels in the metropolitan area. To test the hypotheses, AMOS were conducted for the 271 respondents of the sample using the SPSS Win 17.0 software. The concept of emotional intelligence (EI) has been on the radar of many leaders and managers over the past few decades. Emotional intelligence is generally accepted to be a combination of emotional and interpersonal competencies that influence behavior, thoughts, and interactions with others. Emotional intelligence consists of four factors: understanding the self's emotion, understanding other people's emotions, emotion utilization, and emotion control. Understanding the self's emotion means to understand of my own emotions. Understanding other people's emotions is to understand of the emotions of the people around me and to know how my friends feel based on their behavior. The concept of emotion utilization means to set goals for myself and then try to achieve them, encouraging myself to do my best. The concept of emotion control means I can control my temper, handle difficult situations rationally, and calm down quickly when I am very angry. Results - As a result of the analysis, three factors (understanding the self's emotion, understanding of other people's emotions, and emotion utilization) were shown to have a significant effect on customer orientation. Emotion control had an insignificant effect on customer orientation. Only emotion control makes it difficult to solve customers' problems because it is a passive behavior. In order to solve the customers' problems, hotel employees have to show a positive attitude. Second, customer orientation had a significant effect on customer relationship management performance (customer relationship commitment, corporate image, and customer loyalty). In other words, customer orientation increases commitment to customer relationships. For example, employees who have a customer-orientated perspective provide good service to their customers, while employees who don't have a customer-orientated perspective can't satisfy their customers. Customer orientation can also generate a good image among customers, because they evaluate the image of a hotel through the behavior of hotel employees. So it is very important for employees to show excellent customer orientation. Conclusions - It is very important for hotel CEOs to manage their employees' emotional intelligence. In order to increase their employees' emotional intelligence abilities, CEOs have to manage the overall corporate culture and reward programs to achieve what they want. This is because the system can lead to a customer-orientated mind-set and CRM performance among employees. As a result, the hotel CEO has to pay attention to the emotional intelligence of employees to achieve strong CRM performance. The sentence as originally written was a bit unclear. Purpose - The Garak agricultural wholesale market ('Garak Market') plays a central role in the distribution of agricultural products in Korea and is important in connecting consumers with producers. However, problems regarding inefficiencies and the high-cost structure of the wholesale market's distribution/logistical system are being raised in relation to severe competition among retailers. Furthermore, the service needs of retailers and market users are not being fulfilled due to the inconsistency of the wholesale market's functions and facilities, thus reducing the competitiveness of the market. In this regard, innovative changes are being requested of the agricultural wholesale market according to changes in the agricultural product distribution environment. In particular, the lack of unloading facilities and the outdated unloading system of the wholesale market must be improved to enhance system efficiency. Research design, data, and methodology - This study observed the problems of the unloading system of the agricultural wholesale market in order to present relevant measures for improvement. The need for unloading auctions was also researched in this study. The survey of 70 forwarders belonging to the producing district distributor association of the Garak market was conducted by post. Additionally, 20 auction dealers and 59 shippers and transporters were individually interviewed. The survey on the need for unloading auctions used five-point Likert Scales. The statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS WIN 12.0 software. Results - First, the wholesale market must employ members of the unloading labor union to allow these employees to directly manage the unloading process. Second, it is crucial to revise regulations to ensure that the principal agent pays the unloading cost according to the standard unloading cost system. Third, the vehicle auction carried out for certain vegetable products must be converted to the unloaded auction system. According to the related interviews with the wholesale market's distribution agents, whereas shippers and transporters recognized the need for unloaded auctions, auction dealers tend to have a negative view of this system. Furthermore, the stated reasons in favor of unloaded cabbage, radish, and other vegetable auctions were prevention of constraint, creation of transparent trade conditions, and reduction of corrected seller tickets. Many of the respondents answered that the transport cost reduction rate in unloaded auctions must be below 20%. Fourth, the unloading system must be mechanized and a detailed, reasonable plan must be provided to settle the existing conflict with the unloading labor union. Conclusions - The proposals in this study are expected to play an important role in improving the cargo handling system of the wholesale agricultural product market in the future. Improving the system is expected to help shore up the competitiveness of the industry. If all the related bodies closely cooperate with each other and work harder, taking advantage of the synergies created by the facility modernization project, the Garak market will play a pivotal role in the distribution of agricultural products.
The purpose of this study was to examine the attitude toward own aging among community-residing elderly and the predictors of the attitude focusing on personal resources, social support, and social participation. Data were collected from 198 elders aged 60+ with the cooperation of several social service center for the aged, senior centers, and senior citizen associations in Daejeon Metropolitan City. SPSS 22.0 software was used for descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. The results showed that (1) the research participant elderly's attitude toward own aging indicated fairly negative perception of their own aging; (2) self-esteem and economic status were statistically significant factors indicating the higher levels of self-esteem and economic status predicting the positive attitude of their own aging; (3) emotional support from family was statistically significant factor that predicted the positive attitude of their own aging; (4) the level of social participation was also statistically significantly associated with the positive attitude; (5) In the full model of all independent variables, the significance of emotional support from family and social participation disappeared, but self-esteem and economic status among personal resources remained statistically significant influential factors. Based on the findings, suggestions for social welfare policy and practice to improve community-residing elderly's positive attitude toward their own aging were discussed.

In the fourth industrial revolution, customization is becoming a conversation topic in various domains. Industry 4.0 applies cyber-physical systems (CPS), the Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing to manufacturing businesses. One of the main phrases in Industry 4.0 is mass customization. Optimized products or services are developed and provided through customization. Therefore, the competitiveness of a product can be enhanced, and satisfaction is improved. In particular, as IoT technology spreads, customization is an essential aspect of smooth service connections between various devices or things. Customized services in mobile applications are assembled and operate in various mobile devices in the mobile environment. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for improving customized cloud server-based mobile architectures, processes, and metrics, and for measuring the performance improvement of the customized architectures operating in various mobile devices based on the Android or IOS platforms. We reduce the total time required for customization in half as a result of applying the proposed customized architectures, processes, and metrics in various devices.

As social networking services such as twitter become increasingly popular, data streams are widely prevalent these days. In order to search data accumulated from data streams efficiently, the use of an index structure is essential. In this paper, we propose an update-efficient, disk-based inverted index structure for efficient keyword search on data streams. When new data arrive at the data stream, the index needs to be updated to incorporate the new data. The traditional inverted index is very inefficient to update in terms of disk I/O, because all index data stored in the disk need to be read and written to the disk each time the index is updated. To solve this problem, we divide the whole inverted index into a sequence of inverted indices with exponentially increasing size. When new data arrives, it is first inserted into the smallest index and, later, the small indices are merged with the larger indices, which leads to a small amortize update cost for each new data. Furthermore, when indices stored in the disk are merged with each other, we minimize the disk I/O cost incurred for the merge operation, resulting in an even smaller update cost. Through various experiments, we compare the update efficiency of the proposed index structure with the previous one, and show the performance advantage of the proposed structure in terms of the update cost.

An intelligent robot should decide its behavior accordingly to the dynamic changes in the environment and user's requirements by evaluating options to choose the best one for the current situation. Many intelligent robot systems that use the Procedural Reasoning System (PRS) accomplishes such task management functions by defining the priority functions in the task model and evaluating the priority functions of the applicable tasks in the current situation. The priority functions, however, are defined locally inside of the plan, which exhibits limitation for the tasks for multi-domain services because global contexts for overall prioritization are hard to be expressed in the local priority functions. Furthermore, since the prioritization functions are not defined as an explicit module, reuse or extension of the them for general context is limited. In order to remove such limitations, we propose a policy-based meta-planning for general task management for multi-domain services, which provides the ability to explicitly define the utility of a task in the meta-planning process and thus the ability to evaluate task priorities for general context combining the modular priority functions. The ontological specification of the model also enhances the scalability of the policy model. In the experiments, adaptive behavior of a robot according to the policy model are confirmed by observing the appropriate tasks are selected in dynamic service environments.
