A Study on Optimal Software Maintenance Policies with Warranty Period (보증기기간을 고려한 최적 소프트웨어의 보전정책 연구)

  • In general, a software fault detection phenonenon is described by a software reliability model based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process(NHPP). In this paper, we propose a software reliability growth model considering the differences of the software environments in both the testing phase and the operational phase. Also, we consider the problem of determining the optimal release time and the optimal warranty period that minimize the total expected software cost which takes account of periodic software maintenance(e.g. patch, update, etc). Finally, we analyze the sensitivity of the optimal release time and warranty period based on the fault data observed in the actual testing process.

  • This study was tried for the improvement of software process ability of the software firms, and analyzed empirically the impact that a software process infrastructure level influences on the software process level and process performance. The questionnaire were developed and data were collected from the process improvement correspondences or project quality managers of the 78 software firms. The result was shown that management-organization infrastructure was composed of software process improvement organization's role and activity, process standard and education, management system and supporting, management guides and procedures. And organization's standard development procedure or criteria, process asset, process support tools were included in technical infrastructure. This study provides that some components of software process infrastructure had an significant influence on the process level, process infrastructure management level, and software process performance.

  • In the software industry of Korean Small and Medium-sized Enterprise(SME)s, the development process is often not mature. This may lead to failures in quality control and output management. As a result, the quality of the software can be degraded. To solve the problem, the software visualization technique, which is from the National IT Industry Promotion Agency Software Engineering Center can be applied. We have experienced with mentoring not only the visualization of software development process, but also various visualization process of SMEs. However, the existing software visualization method was difficult to install environment and its time cost was high. This paper proposes a software visualization environment through a cloud service along with a case of building a software visualization environment. We expect that this method will make it easier to build a visualization environment and improve the quality of SME software.

  • Recently, CMM have been recognized as a critical factor to validate the competitiveness of software organizations, even if the organizations have already achieved the ISO9001 certification. Furthermore, the new version of ISO9001:2000 is being required instead of ISO9001:1994. Both CMM and ISO9001 have a common point that they pursuit quality improvement for the organizations processes and products. Therefore, it is important to understand the similarities of specific requirements between the two models in software organizations which attempt to employ both of the models. From this background, this paper compares CMM and ISO9001 by considering the versions in 1994 and 2000 of ISO9001. The results of this research are likely to help software organizations ma]fe a decision for a strategy to adopt CMM and ISO9001.

  • Since software development team members have been more geographically spread due to the globalization of business and Internet technologies, the management of deliverables and communication efforts for developing high-quality software products on time is becoming more complicated. Among the functional requirements for collaborative software development management, the manipulation of shared information objects is essential for the collaborative work among distributed development team members. This paper proposes an integrated information object management framework comprised of a so-called BOC (Bill Of Class) scheme and a standardized software part dictionary for managing shared information objects efficiently among distributed co-workers. In order to manage these complex information objects, the proposed framework adopt product structures represented by Bills Of Materials (BOM) as stems for integrating the various information objects. Based on the proposed framework, a collaborative software development management system (CSDMS) is implemented, and the functionalities and the structure of the system are also described in this paper. The proposed system provides sufficient functionalities for the change management of information objects and the management of their relationship to other objects rather than existing system.

  • In this study, we developed a software for statistical process control. This software presents $\bar{x}$, R, CUSUM, EWMA control chart and process capability index. In this system, statistical process control methods are integrated into the automated method on a real time base. It is available in process control of specified type and can be performed on personal computer with network system.

Design and Implementation of Software Globalization Quality Management Framework (소프트웨어 글로벌화 품질관리 프레임워크 설계 및 구현)

  • Software globalization is becoming more important worldwide but little is known about how globalization technologies are actually carried out in the Korean software industry. In this paper, we have designed Globalization Quality Management (GQM) framework and applied the framework to the industry domestically for the first time. GQM provides a structured and effective way for software organizations to adopt globalization practices and evaluate the results. GQM consists of three main components: 1) software quality management process, 2) globalization support model and 3) globalization assessment model. This framework also supports both plan-driven and iterative/incremental development methods. On the basis of the GQM, a survey study was conducted among software engineering professionals, gathering the data from 31 IT companies across 7 large-scale projects in Korea. The result indicate that the evaluation score for globalization capability is 2.47 and global readiness is 2.55 out of 5 points. Also It said that internationalized product design (32.9%) and global/local product requirements analysis (28%) are needed to be taken care of first.

  • The mobile internet telephony service rapidly grows according to the extending deployment of smartphones. Unlike telephony service over a conventional public switched telephone network (PSTN) or mobile network, internet telephony service cannot guarantee its service quality, which can be severer in a wireless environment. Therefore, a more strict and systematic quality management is required for successful settlement and popularization of mobile internet telephony service. Existing quality management scheme using a specific measurement equipment cannot measure all the time so that it performs late management. In order to overcome the problem, this paper develops a software that can be equipped on a user terminal and measures the service quality all the time. By using the developed software, all-time and user-activating service quality monitoring can be supported.

  • We consider about software quality nowadays. The company considers about software quality more and more compare to software development. We analyze the software testing data in this paper. We find the software effect according to the number of testing, the number of testing date, the number of fault according to characteristics. Also, we analyze the result by regression. Also, we propose the testing effect by sex.
