  • Many studies have reported that software piracy is prevalent in today's society. As software is more closely integrated with across industries, software piracy would put more burdens on national economy. In spite of software anti-piracy efforts, the phenomenon has been getting worse. It is necessary to change the focus of current deterrence strategies. For better understanding of unethical behavioral intention, a research model of potential determinants for the software piracy is developed and empirically tested. The results from the study show that the planned behavior model variables-attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control-have impact on intention to commit software piracy. In addition to the variables, past behavior, perceived benefits and risk were found to be significant predictors of attitude toward software piracy. However, neither attitude nor intention was influenced by facilitating conditions. Moreover, the effect of past piracy behavior on attitude was strongly mediated by perceived benefits. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

  • Software piracy is widespread throughout the world. It has negative effects on the software industry and the intellectual property market. Despite various deterrent policies, the phenomenon has been getting severe. The current study investigated the antecedents of software piracy attitudes and intention. In order to identify factors and their relationship, a research model for illegal piracy behavior was developed and empirically examined through a path analysis using structural equation model. Also, this study employed a multiple group structural equation model to investigate differences in structural weights across PC software user group and smartphone application user group. It was revealed that perceived benefit, habit, social factor, self-efficacy had positive effect on attitude toward software piracy, whereas perceived risk had a decreasing influence on attitude. Relationships between piracy attitudes and intentions were significant as well. Furthermore, the cross validation between two groups showed the path coefficients of habit to attitude and attitude to intention were significantly different. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

  • An integrated orbit and attitude control algorithm for satellite formation flying was developed, and an integrated orbit and attitude software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulator was also developed to test and verify the integrated control algorithm. The integrated algorithm includes state-dependent Riccati equation (SDRE) control algorithm and PD feedback control algorithm as orbit and attitude controller respectively and configures the two algorithms with an integrating effect. The integrated SIL simulator largely comprises an orbit SIL simulator for orbit determination and control, and attitude SIL simulator for attitude determination and control. The two SIL simulators were designed considering the performance and characteristics of related hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators and were combined into the integrated SIL simulator. To verify the developed integrated SIL simulator with the integrated control algorithm, an orbit simulation and integrated orbit and attitude simulation were performed for a formation reconfiguration scenario using the orbit SIL simulator and the integrated SIL simulator, respectively. Then, the two simulation results were compared and analyzed with each other. As a result, the user satellite in both simulations achieved successful formation reconfiguration, and the results of the integrated simulation were closer to those of actual satellite than the orbit simulation. The integrated orbit and attitude control algorithm verified in this study enables us to perform more realistic orbit control for satellite formation flying. In addition, the integrated orbit and attitude SIL simulator is able to provide the environment of easy test and verification not only for the existing diverse orbit or attitude control algorithms but also for integrated orbit and attitude control algorithms.

  • Attitude control modeling and simulation (M&S) can be extensively applied in overall development process, from simple algorithm design to on-board software verification. This paper introduces CMG-based attitude control M&S software, which consists of 6-DOF modeling (CMG and space environments modeling), and attitude control algorithm. The M&S software is divided into three modules, from an inner CMG motor control module to an outer earth observation mission module. While an application of this developed software is currently limited to the initial-phase attitude controller development, its application area can be extended to the later-phases by considering sophisticated model information in future.

  • Recently the era of software integration which is expressed in words of the fourth industrial revolution has begun. Thus the need of the software education for the non-major preservice teachers who are cultivating future talent has been increasing and it is necessary to foster a positive attitude toward software education of non-major preservice teachers. The purpose of this study is to verify the causality between the computer learning attitude factors of non-major preservice teachers in the software education class. To analyze the causality, we performed correlational analysis and regression analysis between the exterior factors of attention, self-learning, application of learning and the other interior factors of computer learning attitude. As a result, the significant factor of attention was interests, and the significant factor of self-learning was superiority, and the significant factors of the application of learning were the sense of purpose and the motive of accomplishment.

  • This study is a research about the effect on achievement, retention and attitude of learning descriptive statistics with the computer software. For this study, 60 students are randomly divided two groups, one is an experimental group using software, the other one is a control group using lecture type of learning statistics. For the analysis, both groups are divided three subgroups according to mathematical ability. Also the topic "descriptive statistics" is divided by 5 subtopics. The test is divided three parts(computation, concept and application) according to knowledge type. The attitude toward statistics is investgated with questionaire and interview with both groups. The achievement test is taken after 8 class periods. The retention test were administered together six weeks after achievement test. The experimental group achieved significantly better than in concept type while the control group performed significantly better than the experimental group in computation type. With respect to the attitude toward statistics, lower ability students may have been negatively affected by the use of software.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine effects of maker education for high-school students on attitude toward software education, creative problem solving, and computational thinking. The program was designed to develop an artificial intelligence robot using mBlock and Arduino and implemented at a maker space. We analyzed 19 students among 20 who participated in the program, the result of paired t-test indicated significant increase in all variables. Also, we performed a multiple regression analysis to investigate predictors of perceived achievement and satisfaction. The finding demonstrated an initial attitude toward software education was found to be the significant predictor of perceived achievement and satisfaction. With the results, we confirmed maker education enhances attitude toward software education, creative problem solving, and computational thinking. Lastly, we discussed the implications and limitations and suggested the direction for future research.

  • The Vehicle Dynamic Simulator(VDS) is a key equipment of the performance verification of attitude control subsystem and it simulates the real dynamic environment that spacecraft undergoes during mission operation. All the software models and hardware interfaces necessary for the closed-loop simulation of the spacecraft dynamics are implemented. Using VDS, KOMPAT-2 attitude control logic functions and performance was verified. In this paper, the hardware and software configurations of KOMPSAT-2 VDS was described briefly and the information flow and exchanges between software models and actual hardwares during close loop simulation was described in the systematic point of view.

  • A test simulator is needed to develop a fuel quantity measurement system that takes into account the roll and pitch motion of the aircraft. In this paper, we develop a test simulator that consists of attitude simulation equipment, fueling equipment, and data storage equipment. The attitude simulation equipment simulates the aircraft attitude. It is manufactured to operate pitch angle and roll angle movement. The fueling equipment supplies fuel to the supplementary fuel tank. The data storage equipment collects and stores the measured data. We also develop an automation software that operates the test simulator and collects data automatically. The test simulator has been automated to prevent testers from being exposed to toxic fuel. Through automation software, the collection period is reduced by one quarter compared to manual collection. The developed fuel quantity measurement system is verified through the test simulator.
