  • Due to the wide growth and popularity of social network website, large numbers of users discover these social network sites are a place where they can be able to spend their leisure time sharing interests, sharing ideas freely, sharing personal experience, and also to search for new friends or partners. These websites give an opportunity for its users to socialize with new people and to keep in touch or reconnect with current or old friends and families across disperse continents, which traditionally replace the common traditional methods. These social network websites need accurate and careful investigations and findings on the usability issues for effective interactivity and more usability. However, little research might have previously invested on the usability of these social network websites. Therefore, we propose a new framework to study and test the usability of these social network sites. We namely call our framework "Interactivity". This framework will enable developers to assess the usability of the social network sites. It will provide an overview of the user's behavior while interacting in these social network websites. Performance of the framework will be performed using Camtasia software. This software will entirely capture the interactivity of users including the screen and the movements, which the screen and the motion of the user action will undergo to analysis at the end of our research.

  • Purpose -This paper aims to understand how easy and convenient it is for consumers to use mobile services. A mobile service combines hardware and software with information technology. To specifically meet the needs of users of mobile applications, the context of usability was identified in consumer mobile services. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - For usability measurement and evaluation, appliances and software were the main target: this applied to an expanding range, such as a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), mobile phones, and wired and wireless integrated services. This study extended the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by examining the roles of two characteristics of mobile applications'usage: usability and usefulness. Results - The study tested the research model using a structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. Results showed no significant differences between the two models. Usability comprised learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction: the motivation for using a mobile application was understood as being the usefulness and easy-of-use of the mobile application. This empirical study validated the proposed research model and hypotheses, and found that the hypotheses could be supported. Finally, the phenomena derived from the causal relationships in usability were identified, and their implications considered.

  • User authentication is indispensable in computer login and internet banking. Usability as well as security is needed in user authentication software. To develop the software systematically, development process must be defined, and it can result in the improvement of software maturity. In this paper, a process needed to develop user authentication software systematically is proposed from experience of developing visual password input software. This process is composed of 6 phases and 15 activities. It is able to improve usability with its requirement analysis, planning, integration testing, and acceptance testing activity.

A Usability Evaluation Method Based on the Lostness of Unit Action for Coding Education Software (코딩 교육용 소프트웨어에 대한 단위 행동 손실률 기반의 사용성 평가 방법)

  • In this paper, we first point out the limitation of the existing methods in usability evaluation, and propose a new method to find tasks and users that can cause problems in the use of software applications. To deal with object-based applications, we define unit actions and divide a given task into the sequence of unit actions. Then, we propose a new measure to calculate the degree of lostness for the unit actions. In several experiments, we show the proposed method can represent the usability well while the previous method has a problem in object-based applications. We also find that the user's evaluation is more related to the proposed method than the previous method based on execution time through correlation analysis.

  • Mobile Banking Applications (MBAPs) is one of the recent fads in mobile trading applications (Apps). MBAPs permit users to execute exchanges of money and many more whenever it might suit them; however, the primary issue for mobile banking Apps is usability. Hardly any investigation analyzes usability issues dependent on user's age, gender, exchanging accomplices, or experience. The purpose of this study is to determine the degree of usability issues, and experience of mobile banking users. The survey employs a quantitative method and performs user experiment on 240 participants with six different tasks on the application's interface. The post experiment survey is done with concerning participants. On the other hand, banking experts and Information Technology (IT) expert's group is also involved after the experiment. Expert's opinions about existing mobile banking Apps and suggestions for improving usability of MBAPs are collected through physical means (like questionnaire and interview) and online means like Google form. After that comparison of the opinions of users and experts about MBAPs is performed. The experimentation measures the tasks usability of various mobile banking apps with respect to its effectiveness, efficiency, trustfulness, learnability, memorability and satisfaction. The usability testing was led at different Universities and the outcomes acquired show that there are privacy and trust issues with their mobile banking apps. There is also a gap between users and experts which should be minimized by applying customized usability models, modes concept like other application software and also by adding complete features of banking in MBAPs. It will benefit mobile banking apps users, developers and usability engineers by providing user-friendly which are up to the mark of user's requirements.

  • Although the concept of usability has been well defined in the software usability engineering area, it is not appropriate to apply the same concept directly to the consumer electronic products. A new concept of usability appropriate for evaluating consumer electronic consumer electronic products was suggested in this study. It is characterized by integrating both the performance and the impression factors. Based on the concept developed, a systematic and integrated methodology for usability evaluation was proposed. The methodology contains four major steps; the development of the measurement methods for evaluating usability attributes, the development of the analysis techniques for the human interface elements, the development of the evaluation method for the usability of human interface elements, and the development of the usability model. The results of this study can be applied to evaluate the usability of various electonic products in a systematic and efficent manner.

  • As information becomes more sophisticated with the advancing technology of our times, the usability of software is considered an important factor. However, the research on usability of weapons system software graphical user interfaces (GUIs) remains insufficient. For this reason, this paper focuses on developing checklists for the usability of GUIs in weapons systems. In the first step, design principles are collected from various design guidelines on usability and from career soldiers. In the second step, a survey is conducted for factor analysis, and in the third step, factor analysis is conducted on 12 principles, with two principles excluded, as a result, due to less correlation with weapons system usability. In Step 4, the weights for design characteristics and design principles are derived using AHP. In the final step, the checklists are developed by mapping the GUI design factors and from the results of factor analysis. This research could be utilized as a foundation for usability evaluation of GUIs in weapons systems.

  • Software quality is very important in software. We think, software testing is very important in point of functionality, usability. But, we have to consider about all of the software quality. We change our thinking about software quality from time to time. In this paper, we try to the best to find important factors by the number of testing dates and the number of testing in point of functionality, usability, reliability, efficiency, portability, maintainability. We study the mean of the number of faults according to products. We find the difference the number of errors by sex of tester.

  • Evaluating methods for software asset have been made based on subjective evaluation criteria. In this study, we try to evaluate the usability of complex assets obtained from the previous measurement of the complexity of the asset management system. The evaluation used a scale provided by measuring logical complexity to measure the complexity of the asset, and evaluated the relationship with the usability of the software asset by measuring the index related to reusability. Therefore, it can be seen that HVs maintain a constant ratio according to the composition of various assets for the two types of assets and maintain the applied consistency. Therefore, it can be determined that an asset optimized in terms of usability can be applied consistently in the architectural design process while securing as much diversity as possible.

  • So far, various researches have been conducted on evaluation of e-learning software, but subjective evaluation criteria are formed according to the classification presented from the viewpoint of the researcher rather than systematized form according to related standards. In addition, standards for software evaluation are continuously being supplemented for practical use, so it is urgent to establish evaluation bases by establishing evaluation criteria. Therefore, in order to establish the quality evaluation standard of e-learning software, this study analyzes the quality requirements of e-learning software based on the usability system among the quality characteristics of ISO/IEC 25000 series. This evaluation standard is distinguished by the fact that the evaluation standard of e-learning software that reflects the latest trend of related standardization has been established and practical utilization has been improved. It can be used effectively for quality evaluation and certification of e-learning software in the future.
