A Method of Selecting Test Metrics for Certifying Package Software using Bayesian Belief Network (베이지언 사용한 패키지 소프트웨어 인증을 위한 시험 메트릭 선택 기법)

  • Nowadays, due to the rapidly increasing number of package software products, quality test has been emphasized for package software products. When testing software products, one of the most important factors is to select metrics which form the bases for tests. In this paper, the types of package software are represented as characteristic vectors having probabilistic relationships with metrics. The characteristic vectors could be regarded as indicators of software type. To assign the metrics for each software type, the past test metrics are collected and analyzed. Using Bayesian belief network, the dependency relationship network of the characteristic vectors and metrics is constructed. The dependency relationship network is then used to find the proper metrics for the test of new package software products.

  • Today, the growth of software industry leads to e quantitative expansion of software package products. Due to this rapid increase of software package products, qualify certification has been required fur software products which users select. Unlike the quality certification of industrial products, the history of software product certification has not been so long. For this reason, software quality evaluation and certification methods have not matured yet. When certifying software products, one of most important factors is the systematic generation of evaluation sets. The evaluation sets include checklists with metrics, and criteria for the software quality certification according to the classification of software product type. This paper presents a metamodel for the systematic generation and maintenance of the evaluation sets. Then, we construct prototype level evaluation sets to show the validity of the metamodel.

This paper presents a certification method for the quality of package software. First of all, the evaluation criteria are derived from ISO/1EC 9126 and 12119 standards, and then the evaluation module are designed considering the measurement scale type. The results can be applied to construct the certification scheme of software product quality for the commercial purpose.

  • Big data analysis needs a new tool for decision making in view of data volume, speed, and variety. Many global IT enterprises are announcing a variety of Big data products with easy to use, best functionality, and modeling capability. Big data packages are defined as a solution represented by analytic tools, infrastructures, platforms including hardware and software. They can acquire, store, analyze, and visualize Big data. There are many types of products with various and complex functionalities. Because of inherent characteristics of Big data, selecting a best Big data package requires expertise and an appropriate decision making method, comparing the selection problem of other software packages. The objective of this paper is to suggest a decision making method for selecting a Big data package. We compare their characteristics and functionalities through literature reviews and suggest selection criteria. In order to evaluate the feasibility of adopting packages, we develop two Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) models where the goal node of a model consists of costs and benefits and the other consists of selection criteria. We show a numerical example how the best package is evaluated by combining the two models.

  • In this paper, we discuss the plethora of uses for the software package R, and focus specifically on its helpful applications in reliability data analyses. Examples are presented; including the R coding protocol, R code, and plots for various statistical as well as reliability analyses. We explore Kaplan-Meier estimates and maximum likelihood estimation for distributions including the Weibull. Finally, we discuss future applications of R, and usages of quantile regression in reliability.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the product characteristics and spatial configuration in a retail store. This study utilized the analytical method of Space Syntax, and the software package used for the analysis was New-wave and Pesh. The qualitative study focused on the showroom of 'H INTERIOR', a leading furniture company in Korea, and examined the accessibility of the space. The result showed that the main accessible route was well established in the retail store, and more trendy and fashionable products were likely to be displayed in more accessible places. Also, the products in the selected showroom were arranged according to the pricing information, so that products with lower price were displayed in more accessible places. This study suggested that it be important to adequately and appropriately display the products in relation to the characteristics of products, and implied that the method of Space Syntax was useful to strategically evaluate the display in retail spaces.

  • Overseas literatures on the subject discussed so far have used the samples of tangible products and domestic studies have not limited the ranges of respondents while discussing the characteristics of the products. In the meanwhile, this paper has chosen intangible IT products as its research subject because IT area is an emerging industry in the 21st century. In addition, it has also limited the research samples to the buyers of the game software package products in order to enhance the reliability of respondency and the involvement. The results can be summarized as follows : Firstly, involvement acts as a moderator in the fair price and value of product as well as willingness to buy. Secondly, involvement acts as a moderator in the highest price and value of product as well as willingness to buy. Finally, involvement acts a moderator in the lower price and value of product.

  • The organization and company's effort to improve software qualify contributes to the increase of software productivity and quality in some sense. However, it has not been a solution of root causes. This result is caused not because of people or technology, but process in-stitutionalization. Recently SQA (Software Quality Assurance), which provide mechanism to make sure that the software development process and products follow the assigned requirements, plan and standards, is applied to achieve the quality improvements. Several standards and models are developed for SQA activities. However, those standards and mode]s are written in form and do not provide information related to the detailed procedures, methods and outputs. Therefore, the organizations that want to adopt those models or standards have to put a lot of effort to acquire the knowledge about the models and to set up SQA Process that is tailored to meet organization's goal and objectives. In this research, we developed SQA support package to support the organization to develop their SQA process in more convenient and systematic ways. With this package, the organizations can establish SQA Process by tailoring those features necessary to reflect organization's characteristics. We expect this package contribute the organizations in a way that it reduce the effort and cost for establishing SQA process.
