  • In this paper, a novel multiple description image coding (MDC) scheme is proposed, which is based on the characteristics of the human visual model. Due to the inherent characteristics of human vision, the human eye can only perceive the change of the specific thresholds, that is, the just noticeable difference (JND) thresholds. Therefore, JND model is applied to improve MDC syetem. This paper calculates the DCT coefficients firstly, and then they are compared with the JND thresholds. The data that is less than the JND thresholds can be neglected, which will improve the coding efficiency. Compared with other existing methods, the experimental results of the proposed method are superior.

  • Change coupling is a measure to show how strongly change-related two entities are. When two source files have been frequently changed together, they are regarded as change-coupled files and they will probably be changed together in the near future. In the previous studies, the change coupling between two files is defined with the number of common changed time, that is, common commit time of the files. However, the frequency-based technique has limitations because of 'tangled changes', which frequently happens in the development environments with version control systems. The tangled change means that several code hunks have been changed at the same time, though they have no relation with each other. In this paper, the change types of the code hunks are also used to define change coupling, in addition to the common commit time of target files. First, the frequency vector based on change types are defined with the extracted change types, and then, the similarity of change patterns are calculated using the cosine similarity measure. We conducted experiments on open source project Eclipse JDT and CDT for case studies. The result shows that the applicability of the proposed method, compared to the previous studies.

  • This study attempts to explain the mechanism behind the migration from vertically integrated value chain architecture to an innovation ecosystem consisting of horizontally separated layers in value chain. We first present a comprehensive framework based on the theoretical analysis of the drivers for migration to an innovation ecosystem, which are standard (institution), capability distribution, and transaction costs. The theoretical framework suggests that the migration to an innovation ecosystem is explained by the influence of standard on the evolutionary change of capability distribution and transaction costs. In particular, when the new de-jure standard competes with the de-facto standard, the new de-jure standard has the greatest impact on the distribution capabilities and the transaction costs. Based on this theoretical framework, we analyze the latest SDN (Software Defined Networking) case of the network industry. SDN standard has transformed the industry from a vertically integrated value chain architecture to a horizontally separated one with its influence on the distribution capabilities and the transaction costs in the industry.

  • The prediction of thermal effects in lithography projection objective plays a significant role in the real-time dynamic compensation of thermal aberrations. For the illuminated lithography projection objective, this paper applies finite element analysis to get the temperature distribution, surface deformation and stress data. To improve the efficiency, a temperature distribution function model is proposed to use for the simulation of thermal aberrations with the help of optical analysis software CODE V. SigFit is approved integrated optomechanical analysis software with the feature of calculating OPD effects due to temperature change, and it is utilized to prove the validation of the temperature distribution function. Results show that the impact of surface deformation and stress is negligible compared with the refractive index change; astigmatisms and 4-foil aberrations dominate in the thermal aberration, about 1.7 λ and 0.45 λ. The system takes about one hour to reach thermal equilibrium and the contrast of the imaging of dense lines get worse as time goes on.

  • End-user Computing(EUC) is one of the significant developments of the 1980s with the explosive supply of personal computers and application software related to it. EUC can be defined as the direct assumption of system development and data processing tasks by the user of the service for his own direct benefit. This is in contrast to the traditional approach to computing in which user requirement are identified and defined and then turned over to professional system designers and programmers for implementation, with the end-user a relatively passive participant in the process. The traditional approach to system development has two obvious drawbacks. First, there is the problem that something may be lost in translation of the problem as originally formulated by the requestor and as it is implemented by the computer specialists. Second, there is the problem that it can take a longtime as growth of significant workloads within system department staff. EUC is an attempt to compensate for this drawbacks associated with the traditional system department process. It permits the end-user to interact directly with an information system, utilizing user friendly software support tools. End-user Searching(EUS) can be defined as accessing online databases and performing search operations for the purpose of finding information to be used by that same person rather than another, in contract with intermediary searcher. The concept of EUS is related to the concept of EUS. That is, two concept are similarly to development background, effects and functions. Therefore, as EUC bring on a change the traditional data processing environment, EUS also bring on a change the traditional intermediary search environment.

  • Most of the accidents occur due to drowsiness while driving, avoiding road signs and due to driver's distraction. Driver's distraction depends on various factors which include talking with passengers while driving, mood disorder, nervousness, anger, over-excitement, anxiety, loud music, illness, fatigue and different driver's head rotations due to change in yaw, pitch and roll angle. The contribution of this paper is two-fold. Firstly, a data set is generated for conducting different experiments on driver's distraction. Secondly, novel approaches are presented that use features based on facial points; especially the features computed using motion vectors and interpolation to detect a special type of driver's distraction, i.e., driver's head rotation due to change in yaw angle. These facial points are detected by Active Shape Model (ASM) and Boosted Regression with Markov Networks (BoRMaN). Various types of classifiers are trained and tested on different frames to decide about a driver's distraction. These approaches are also scale invariant. The results show that the approach that uses the novel ideas of motion vectors and interpolation outperforms other approaches in detection of driver's head rotation. We are able to achieve a percentage accuracy of 98.45 using Neural Network.

  • Embedded system is applied in various fields and must equip system to respond market's requirement which is changing fast. Products that do not equip such fast construction system will have become sterilization. Construction system for Time-To-Market is reusability system or framework that have reused existent product and produce new product. Because embedded system is being based on hardware, amendment is not available easily, but can change system softly using segment of software. Therefore, in this paper, suggest meta-model of reusability framework that can change embedded software. Meta model of this paper suggests dynamic meta-model to design functional flow of reusability framework.

  • In order to increase the productivity of software, the research to reduce the total cost in software development environments is working, Considerable time is wasted waiting for a changed program in program development, however smell the change, to be edited and compiled and executed. In case of partial change, we need incremental interpreter for reexecuting the changed parts and its affected parts, In this paper, we implement the incremental interpreter by using analyzing dynamic semantics at execution time, We define a new IMPLO(IMPerative Language with Object) language using EBNF(Extended Backus Naur Form) notation and then, design and implement the incremental interpreter of this language by using action equations to describe the dynamic semantics.

  • Various efforts have been made worldwide to respond to environmental problems such as climate change. Research on artificial intelligence (AI)-based energy management has been widely conducted as the most effective way to alleviate the climate change problem. In particular, buildings that account for more than 20% of the total energy delivered worldwide have been focused as a target for energy management using the building energy management system (BEMS). In this paper, we propose a multi-armed bandit (MAB)-based energy management algorithm that can efficiently decide the energy consumption level of the lighting system in each room of the building, while minimizing the discomfort levels of occupants of each room.

  • Forests are crucial for ecosystem stability, societal advancement, and subsistence; however, environmental changes since the 1970s, including shifting agriculture, deforestation, urbanization, increasing human population, and drought, have significantly impacted the region. The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of temporal forest cover changes in the Benchi-Sheko zone in Southwestern Ethiopia. Two types of data were collected: spatial data from satellite images of 1973, 1988, 2003, and 2017, and GPS point data. GIS software, ERDAS version 2015 software, and a handheld GPS were used for data analysis. The data of both GIS from image classification and ERDAS quantification revealed that forest cover decreased from 46,306.17 (92.67%) hectares in 1973 to 27,937.89 (55.91%) hectares in 2017; therefore 18,368.28 hectares (36.76%) decrease in forest cover was detected in the last 44 years by an average annual change of 417.46 hectares and. Based on this, it is recommended that partners working on forest conservation in the locality should enhance local people's awareness to protect forests and forest products in their day-to-day activities.
