Scintigraphic Detection of Elbow Hygroma in a Dog Using $^{99m}Tc-MDP$ (개에서 $^{99m}Tc-MDP$를 이용한 주관절 수활액낭종의 핵의학적 진단)

  • Elbow hygroma and hypertrophic osteodystrophy were diagnosed in Doberman referred to Veterinary Teaching Hosptial of Chungbuk national University. Physical examination, plain radiography, and bone scan were performed in the patient. The radiography revealed soft tissue swelling on the caudal region of the elbow and irregular radiolucent zone involving the metaphysis subjacent and parallel to the distal radial and ulnar physes. The bone scan of the forelimbs revealed increased uptake in region where the soft, fluid-filled mass on the elbow was present. But the radiolucent areas (the distal radial and ulnar physes) were seen normal bone uptake. Therefore, hypertrophic osteodystrophy ruled out the diagnosis. $^{99m}Tc-MDP$ scan is suitable to routine clinical use for soft tissue inflammation and bone lesions detection.

Monte Carlo Soft Handoff Modeling (몬데카를로 소프트 헨드오프 모델링)

  • In this paper some models for obtaining the distribution of a sojourn time in CDMA cellular systems are proposed. Knowledge on this is essential for reliable modeling of the soft handoff and for solving other related problems in the analysis of cellular system. The proposed model is based on random walk and can be adopted to different conditions. Analytical results can be obtained that lead to a quite complicated numerical scheme so simulation models are used for Monte Carlo experiments. Main assumptions include different kinds of mobile carriers (pedestrians and transport passengers) and round shape of a cell. The scheme for simulation experiments is presented along with the discussion of simulation results.

The Characteristics of Sasang Constitution from the Result of Regular Medical Inspection (한방건강검진 결과에 따른 체질별 특성연구)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to find the characteristics of Sasang Constitution, Soeumin, Soyangin and Taeumin, Using Regular Medical Inspection. Methods : Subjects of our study were 325 cases who took regular medical inspection. We collected the data of body composition analysis, 7-zone-diagnostic system, blood analysis, and analyzed by Sasang Constitution, Soeumin, Soyangin and Taeumin. Results and Conclusions : 1. In body composition analysis, Taeumin was significantly higher than Soeumin and Soyangin about soft lean mass, body fat mass, waist-hip ratio, body water index, body mass index and basal metabolic rate. In blood analysis, Taeumin was significantly highest about total protein, albumin, GPT, hemoglobin, WBC, triglyceride. In 7-zone-diagnostic system, Taeumin had the highest level at Zone 1, 2. 2. Taeumin had more significant differences than other Sasang constitutions about the parameters of regular medical inspection. 3. Body composition analysis had the most parameters that showed differences among the constitutions, followed by blood analysis and 7-zone-diagnostic system.

An Estimation of Smear Zone Induced by Vertical Drain Construction Based on the Laboratory Model test (실내모형실험을 통한 연직배수재 타설에 의한 스미어존의 평가)

  • When ground disturbance takes place due to vertical drain construction through mandrel penetration, that affects excess pore water pressure dissipation time because of soft clay coefficient of permeability decreasing. Eventually, consolidation time is influenced. In this research, we measure process of excess pore water pressure dissipation before and after each other different shape's mandrel penetration through model test, and calculates range of smear zone, coefficient of permeability and horizontal coefficient of consolidation after model test. Using of test result, we grasp a degree of drainage ability drop resulting from vertical drain construction.

  • This study deals with the mechanical properties of STS304-Al351 friction welding zone. Main results are as follows ; under the condition of upset pressure 75MPa, the tensile strength of STS304-al6351 friction weld interface was higher than that of Al6351 base metal, and the highest tensile strength(290MPa) was obtained at upset pressure 125MPa. The hardness profile across the weld interface shows that the hardness of both STS304 and Al6351 is higher around the weld interface, and sharply increased hardness on the STS304 side is related with the plastic deformation of micro volume. As the result of analyzing the tensile fracture, it showed perfect soft fracture.

  • From Jan. 1998, 28 young children patients with complete amputations at zone I or II were replanted using a microscopic technique. Children's average age was 4.5 years and the amputation levels were zone I in 12 cases and zone II in 16 cases. Overall survival rate was 57%(16 cases). In children, the advantages of the replantation for distal digital amputations are nearly normal length, good soft tissue coverage with nail and cosmetically high patient satisfaction but surgical technical difficulties are much greater than in adults.

  • Field instrumentation and numerical analysis by the finite difference method were applied to estimate the relaxed zone in a subway tunnel of shallow depth in soft rock, excavated by NATM. The convergence and ground displacement can be used to estimate the deformation behavior and the relaxed zone. Parameters for the several models previously suggested were measured using regression analysis techniques adopting a function of time and the face advance. The estimated relaxed zone by the MPBX and FDM analysis were 1.5~3.0 m and 1.5~2.0 m, respectively. It was concluded that the visco-elastic model and the time-dependent elasto-plastic model correlate very well ($r^2$>0.9) with results of the numerical analyses.

  • 고온고압장치(High Temperature and Pressure Vessels)의 적용을 위한 기초연구로서 9Cr-1Mo강 용접부의 연화특성에 대하여 검토하였다. 9Cr-1Mo 강재에 Bead-on-Plate용접을 실시한 후, 용접부의 기계적 성질과 그 현미경조직관찰 및 미세경도를 측정한 결과, As-Welded 및 용접 후열처리(PWHT)등의 조건에 관계없이 용접열향부의 변태역과 템퍼링역의 경계에서 모재의 경 도보다 낮은 경도값(연화역)을 나타내었으며 이러한 원인은 결정립계(Grain boundary)에 석출 되는 탄화물의 형성에 의한 뜨임 현상임이 판명되었다.

  • In this paper the conceptual design and development of a compact vertical type soft x-ray microscope is described. This x-ray microscope operates in the water window wavelength region(2.3 ${\sim}$ 4.4nm), where natural contrast between carbon(protein) and oxygen(water) allows imaging of unstained biological material their natural, hydrated environment. Until now, operational x-ray microscopes are based on synchrotron radiation sources, which limit their accessibility. Many biologists would benefit from having the x-ray microscope as a tool among other tools in their own laboratory, For this purpose we introduced the compact vertical type soft X-ray microscope with 50 nm resolution for biomedical application. The compact vertical type soft x-ray microscope is based on a laser plasma x-ray source, doubled ellipsoidal condenser reflective optics, diffractive zone plate optics and MCP coupled with CCD to record an x-ray image.

  • In recent years, the switching source devices have the advantage of small, light and high reliability with the high-frequency. But, high-frequency switching has disclosed disadvantage of result from stress and turn-on and turn-off peak losses at the switching instant. Accordingly, in this paper propose ZVS-HB type high-frequency resonant DC/DC converter using soft switching technique (Zero-Voltage-Switching, Zero-Current-Switching) with safety operating of circuit at diving on inductive zone, through the circuit design example using the capacitor $C_3,\;C_4$ with soft switching function and division characteristic of resonant Capacitor C, $C_1,\;C_2$, and, the characteristic analysis of circuit is generally described using normalized parameters. Also, this paper certified a rightfulness of characteristic analysis in comparison with a theoretical values and a experimental values obtain from experiment using MOSFET.
