"문화모델" 개념의 건축적 수용 과정에 관한 연구 - 베르나르 위엣 그룹의 논의를 중심으로 - (On the Architectural Reception of the Concept "Modèles Culturels" - focusing on the discourses of Bernard Huet's group -)

  • This research deals with context and process of the reception of the sociological concept of "$mod{\grave{e}}les$ culturels" by French architects gathered around Bernard Huet in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. While this concept had its own shortcomings as sociological tool, its reception by some architects in collaboration with sociologists produced a series of meaningful debates when the role of inhabitants in collective housing design was a common issue. Through the analysis this research could situate the architectural reception of the $Mod{\grave{e}}les$ culturels in comparison with other then competing tendencies such as "flexibility tendency" and Design methods movement. It argues that the most significant meaning of the reception of $mod{\grave{e}}les$ culturels lies in its advanced and critical view on the relations and hiatus between the "social space" of the inhabitants characterized in particular by its topological nature and the "architectural space" of the architects characterized by its Euclidian geometrical nature.

사회성지수(SQ)가 대학생의 전공선택 및 PR매체 채택에 미치는 영향 (The impact of Social Intelligence on the choice of educational major and the adaptation of social media in Public Relations)

  • 소셜미디어의 등장으로 사회적 관계가 중요시되면서 사회성지수(SQ)가 다시 부각되고 있다. 이것은 공중관계를 다루는 PR과 밀접한 관계가 있다는 점에서 대학생들의 전공선택과 소셜미디어 채택에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구의 필요성으로 제기된다. 사회성지수는 다른 사람들과 잘 지내면서 그들을 자신에게 잘 협조하도록 하는 능력이라는 점에서 언론홍보전공 학생들에게 필요한 능력이고 또 적성이라고 할 수 있다. 하지만 본 연구는 언론홍보전공 학생들의 사회성지수가 기타 인문사회경영 전공학생들이나 자연이공계 학생들 보다 낮게 나타났다는 점에서 언론홍보전공 학생들에 대한 관계관리 능력이나 사회성지수를 높여줄 수 있는 교육이 필요하다는 점을 지적하고 있다. 이것은 결국 사회성지수가 전공 선택에 거의 영향을 미치지 못했다는 의미도 된다. 따라서 본 논문은 언론홍보전공 학생들에게 알브레히드(Albrecht)가 개발한 사회성지수 향상 프로그램 (SPACE)을 학습시키는 것과 이러한 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 새로운 교과목의 개발과 채택이 필요하다는 점을 밝히고 있다. 반면, 본 연구는 사회성지수가 높은 사람이 스마트폰과 같은 소셜미디어를 보다 활발히 이용한다는 사실을 보여주고 있다. 이것은 사회성지수가 관계 확립과 관계유지 능력을 높여 주는 소셜미디어 이용에 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다.

Impact of Human Mobility on Social Networks

  • Mobile phone carriers face challenges from three synergistic dimensions: Wireless, social, and mobile. Despite significant advances that have been made about social networks and human mobility, respectively, our knowledge about the interplay between two layers remains largely limited, partly due to the difficulty in obtaining large-scale datasets that could offer at the same time social and mobile information across a substantial population over an extended period of time. In this paper, we take advantage of a massive, longitudinal mobile phone dataset that consists of human mobility and social network information simultaneously, allowing us to explore the impact of human mobility patterns on the underlying social network. We find that human mobility plays an important role in shaping both local and global structural properties of social network. In contrast to the lack of scale in social networks and human movements, we discovered a characteristic distance in physical space between 10 and 20 km that impacts both local clustering and modular structure in social network. We also find a surprising distinction in trajectory overlap that segments social ties into two categories. Our results are of fundamental relevance to quantitative studies of human behavior, and could serve as the basis of anchoring potential theoretical models of human behavior and building and developing new applications using social and mobile technologies.

노인전문요양시설 치매노인의 공용공간 이용실태 및 행동특성에 관한 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Space Use Pattern and Behavior of the Elderly with Dementia in Common Space of Nursing Home)

  • The purpose of this study was to clarify the space use pattern and the daily living activities of the elderly with dementia in the common space (living room) of nursing home. The subjects were 2 units(living room) of the nursing home. For this, researcher visited from June 20 to July 2 and collected data by observations of behavior of the elderly with dementia in common space(living room) and interviews with staff for the information about basic characteristics of the elderly with dementia and administration and operation of the facilities. The data were analyzed using the frequency and percentage. The results revealed as follows: first, the daily living activities of the elderly with dementia in common space tended to focus on self-concentration type and physical environment-interest type. Second, physical environmental -interest type. Second, physical environmental characteristics of common space affected space usage pattern of the elderly with dementia. And it was perceived like as living oriented space, social interaction space, facility space, staff oriented space. Conclusively it was suggested to plan dining space as semi-private space, day corner as semi-public space.

문학과 비평의 새로운 사이버 공간: 소셜 네트워크의 적용 (New Cyber Space for Literature and criticism: Applied to Social Network)

  • 문학은 오랜 기간 동안 사회의 현상과 그 시대의 화제, 이슈 등을 표현하여 왔다. 또한 많은 문학 평론가들은 이를 하나의 문학 작품 뿐만 아니라 그 시대상을 바로 보는 지표로 사용하였다. 즉 문학은 그 시대를 표현하는 대표적인 방법이었다. 그러나 사람들마다 해당 작품을 보는 관점은 다를 수 있다. 그래서 문학은 사람들마다 독자적인 해석에 기반을 두게 되고, 이는 문학을 통해 보는 시대의 이해에 대한 일반화에 어려움을 주는 요인으로 작용하였다. 본 논문은 이를 위하여 소셜 네트워크를 통한 새로운 사이버 공간을 만들고, 문학을 통해 일반적으로 그 시대를 이해하고 공감할 수 있는 논의 공간이 될 수 있도록 하는 프레임워크를 제안하고자 한다. 이때 문학작품들은 디지털 콘텐츠로 제작 및 운용되도록 하였다.

The Kernel Trick for Content-Based Media Retrieval in Online Social Networks

  • Nowadays, online or mobile social network services (SNS) are very popular and widely spread in our society and daily lives to instantly share, disseminate, and search information. In particular, SNS such as YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, and Amazon allow users to upload billions of images or videos and also provide a number of multimedia information to users. Information retrieval in multimedia-rich SNS is very useful but challenging task. Content-based media retrieval (CBMR) is the process of obtaining the relevant image or video objects for a given query from a collection of information sources. However, CBMR suffers from the dimensionality curse due to inherent high dimensionality features of media data. This paper investigates the effectiveness of the kernel trick in CBMR, specifically, the kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) for dimensionality reduction. KPCA is a nonlinear extension of linear principal component analysis (LPCA) to discovering nonlinear embeddings using the kernel trick. The fundamental idea of KPCA is mapping the input data into a highdimensional feature space through a nonlinear kernel function and then computing the principal components on that mapped space. This paper investigates the potential of KPCA in CBMR for feature extraction or dimensionality reduction. Using the Gaussian kernel in our experiments, we compute the principal components of an image dataset in the transformed space and then we use them as new feature dimensions for the image dataset. Moreover, KPCA can be applied to other many domains including CBMR, where LPCA has been used to extract features and where the nonlinear extension would be effective. Our results from extensive experiments demonstrate that the potential of KPCA is very encouraging compared with LPCA in CBMR.

'제3의 공간'으로서 카페의 공간연출 전략에 관한 연구 - '길(street) 문화'가 형성된 지역을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Spatial Presentation Strategies for Cafe as 'The Third Space' - Focused on the cafes located in regions where 'Street culture' was formed -)

  • 'The Third space,' which is the concept that embraces sociological, spatial, and marketing concepts, refers to the place which is other than the home and the workplace and which is a comfortable frequented place where meditation, psychological relaxation, and social needs can be satisfied. 'The Third space' has the characteristics of comfort, openness, interactivity, playfulness, and diversity. In modern times, most of consumption spaces play the role of 'the Third space,' and the typical example is $Caf{\acute{e}}$. $Caf{\acute{e}}$ began from its origin with the characteristics of 'the Third space,' and recently it has become the complex cultural space of urban dwellers. $Caf{\acute{e}}$ as 'the Third space' has the characteristics of a healing space, communication space, personalized space, value-expressive space, culture and consumption space, nomad space. Such characteristics of $Caf{\acute{e}}$ are well represented in the cafes around the regions where 'street culture' has recently been formed. As examined through the examples, $Caf{\acute{e}}$ as 'the Third space' can be more strategically produced by establishing themes through storytelling, giving spatial identity through style creation, diversifying the sequence through complex space organization, and establishing interaction devices through experience elements.

중년여성의 스마트폰을 통한 SNS 사용경험 (The experiences of middle-aged woman using SNS through Smartphone)

  • 본 연구는 중년여성의 스마트폰을 통한 SNS 사용경험 현상의 본질을 밝히고 경험하는 의미를 이해하기 위해 Colaizzi(1978)의 방법을 적용한 현상학 연구이다. 연구 참여자는 중년여성 10명(연령범위 42-52세)이었다. 본 연구결과 75개의 의미있는 진술, 22개의 주제와 5개의 주제모음을 확인하여 2개로 범주화 하였다. 5개의 주제모음은 '만남-소통의 공간', '정보 교류의 공간', '문화창조의 공간', '디지털 피로의 공간', '진정성 없는 소통' 이며 범주화된 2개의 주제군은 '긍정적인 사회적 관계의 재구조화', '부정적인 사회적 관계의 재구조화' 로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 중년여성의 SNS 사용에 대한 새로운 관점을 파악하고 중년여성의 사회적 관계 활성을 위한 중재 방안을 모색하는데 기여할 것이다.
