It is important to present authentic routine formulas in textbooks for students to acquire proper, efficient and safe communication strategies to communicate with other English speakers. For the analysis, currently available 7 series of 21 high school English textbooks under the $7^{th}$ National Curriculum were selected. Each series of textbooks contains 3 school grade textbooks as High School English, High School English I, and High School English II. The results show that the high school English textbooks generally demonstrate a secund reflection of the English native speakers' use of request strategies and downgraders. That is, the textbooks were found to have presented mostly casual forms of routine formulas while they have not presented sufficient coverage of elaborated polite routine formulas for requesting which English native speakers frequently use. The presence of some kinds of the frequently used downgraders was also very small in proportion in the textbooks. More effort should be given to complement the deficiency in this area by teachers and researchers.

  • The purpose of this article is to discuss the enhancement of medical professionalism and the artisan spirit proposed by Yu and to suggest curriculum content and methods to improve medical professionalism. Professionals are those who can share their knowledge with others and proceed under self-reflection on moral values and social expectations. The goal of medical education is to cultivate students to be good as well as to do well. To achieve this goal, educators should foster students to be good doctors for 99% of patients, rather than to be high performers for 1% of patients. There are two types of curriculum for medical professionalism: hidden and formative curricula. In these curricula, we doctors may be good role models for medical students. The curriculum contents and the methods for implementation that are based on accumulated experience can be embedded into education on professionalism. In addition, as suggested by Miller, how to evaluate medical professionalism based on a framework of clinical assessment must be discussed. Finally, it is suggested that the process of education on medical professionalism should be a kind of cultural movement to raise good doctors.

Methods: In-depth interviews were conducted with nine study participants who had experience volunteering with children receiving pediatric palliative care. The study analysis was conducted using the Colaizzi method, a rigorous qualitative research method, to develop "intra-group" comparisons among the study participants. Results: Through an analysis of the data, 51 themes, 18 theme clusters, and five main categories were derived. The results confirmed that the experience of university student volunteers in pediatric palliative care can be summarized as "awareness of the role of a volunteer," "difficulties encountered while volunteering," "efforts to overcome the difficulties of volunteer work," "personal reflection," and "awareness of life and death." • This paper examined the strategy of experiential learning on Web-based cyberspace for constructive education of social studies. The results as follows : The first, constructivism has brought the paradigm shift in traditional principles of teaching and learning, constructivism is not a theory about teaching, it is a theory about knowledge and learning, learning is understood as a self-regulated process of resolving inner cognitive conflicts that often become apparent through experience, collaborative discourse, and reflection. It is proper for constructive education of social studies to carry out from cognitive constructivism to socio-cultural constructivism, from socio-cultural constructivism to cognitive constructivism and co-constructivism, considering the aim or objectives of social studies education. The second, Web-based Instruction(WBI) can provide learners for constructive environments which can be proper for teaching and learning. WBI was suggested as the best medium for constructive education of social studies in the information age. WBI must design teaching and learning so that may not be teacher-centered, if teacher-centered, it is not constructivism. The third, Web-based cyberspace is the proper mediated experience fields for experiential learning to effectively study regions or space because of overcoming distance fractions through the time-space convergence, it actualize the constructive education of social studies in the space age.
