Nowadays, as we can notice on social media, most users choose to use more than one language in their online postings. Thus, social media analytics needs reviewing as code-switching analytics instead of traditional analytics. This paper aims to present evidence comparable to the accuracy of code-switching analytics techniques in analysing the mood state of social media users. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) to study the social media analytics that examined the effectiveness of code-switching analytics techniques. One primary question and three sub-questions have been raised for this purpose. The study investigates the computational models used to detect and measures emotional well-being. The study primarily focuses on online postings text, including the extended text analysis, analysing and predicting using past experiences, and classifying the mood upon analysis. We used thirty-two (32) papers for our evidence synthesis and identified four main task classifications that can be used potentially in code-switching analytics. The tasks include determining analytics algorithms, classification techniques, mood classes, and analytics flow. Results showed that CNN-BiLSTM was the machine learning algorithm that affected code-switching analytics accuracy the most with 83.21%. In addition, the analytics accuracy when using the code-mixing emotion corpus could enhance by about 20% compared to when performing with one language. Our meta-analyses showed that code-mixing emotion corpus was effective in improving the mood analytics accuracy level. This SLR result has pointed to two apparent gaps in the research field: i) lack of studies that focus on Malay-English code-mixing analytics and ii) lack of studies investigating various mood classes via the code-mixing approach.
Visual analytics is an emerging research field that combines the strength of electronic data processing and human intuition-based social background knowledge. This study demonstrates useful visual analytics with Tableau in conjunction with semantic network analysis using examples of sentiment flow and strategic communication strategies via Twitter in a blockchain domain. We comparatively investigated the sentiment flow over time and language usage patterns between companies with a good reputation and firms with a poor reputation. In addition, this study explored the relations between reputation and marketing communication strategies. We found that cryptocurrency firms more actively produced information when there was an increased public demand and increased transactions and when the coins' prices were high. Emotional language strategies on social media did not affect cryptocurrencies' reputations. The pattern in semantic representations of keywords was similar between companies with a good reputation and firms with a poor reputation. However, the reputable firms communicated on a wide range of topics and used more culturally focused strategies, and took more advantages of social media marketing by expanding their outreach to other social media networks. The visual big data analytics provides insights into business intelligence that helps informed policies.

Social media have emerged as new communication channels between consumers and companies that generate a large volume of unstructured text data. This social media content, which contains consumers' opinions and interests, is recognized as valuable material from which businesses can mine useful information; consequently, many researchers have reported on opinion-mining frameworks, methods, techniques, and tools for business intelligence over various industries. These studies sometimes focused on how to use opinion mining in business fields or emphasized methods of analyzing content to achieve results that are more accurate. They also considered how to visualize the results to ensure easier understanding. However, we found that such approaches are often technically complex and insufficiently user-friendly to help with business decisions and planning. Therefore, in this study we attempt to formulate a more comprehensive and practical methodology to conduct social media opinion mining and apply our methodology to a case study of the oldest instant noodle product in Korea. We also present graphical tools and visualized outputs that include volume and sentiment graphs, time-series graphs, a topic word cloud, a heat map, and a valence tree map with a classification. Our resources are from public-domain social media content such as blogs, forum messages, and news articles that we analyze with natural language processing, statistics, and graphics packages in the freeware R project environment. We believe our methodology and visualization outputs can provide a practical and reliable guide for immediate use, not just in the food industry but other industries as well.
Social media platforms have become an integral part of our daily lives, and they generate vast amounts of data that can be analyzed for various purposes. However, the quality of the data obtained from social media is often questionable due to factors such as noise, bias, and incompleteness. Enhancing data quality is crucial to ensure the reliability and validity of the results obtained from such data. This paper proposes an enhanced decision-making framework based on Business Decision Management Systems (BDMS) that addresses these challenges by incorporating a data quality enhancement component. The framework includes a backtracking method to improve plan failures and risk-taking abilities and a steep optimized strategy to enhance training plan and resource management, all of which contribute to improving the quality of the data. We examine the efficacy of the proposed framework through research data, which provides evidence of its ability to increase the level of effectiveness and performance by enhancing data quality. Additionally, we demonstrate the reliability of the proposed framework through simulation analysis, which includes true positive analysis, performance analysis, error analysis, and accuracy analysis. This research contributes to the field of business intelligence by providing a framework that addresses critical data quality challenges faced by organizations in decision-making environments.

Purpose Facebook is a social network service that has the highest number of Monthly Active Users around the world. Hence, marketers have selected Facebook as the most important platform to get customer engagement. With respect to the customer engagement enhancement, the most popular and engaging post type in the Facebook brand fan pages related to what was usually classified as 'sweepstakes'. Sweepstakes refer to a form of gambling where the entire prize may be awarded to the winner. Which makes customers more engaged with the brand. This study aims to explore sweepstakes-oriented social media marketing approaches based on the application of big data analytics. Design/methodology/approach we collect sweepstakes data from each company based on the data crawling from the Facebook brand fan pages. The output of this study explains how companies in each category of FCB grid can design and apply sweepstakes for their social media marketing. Findings The results show that they have one thing in common across the four quadrants of FCB grid. Regardless of the quadrants, most frequently observed type is 'Simple/Quiz or Comments/Quatrains [event type of sweepstakes] + Gifticon [type of reward prize] + Image [type of message display] + No URL [Link toother website] +Single-Gift-Offer [type of reward prize payment]'. So, if the position of the brand is hard to be defined by the FCB grid model, then this general rule can be applied to all types of brands. Also some differences between the quadrants of the FCB grid were observed. This study offers several research implications by analyzing Sweepstakes-oriented social media marketing approaches in Facebook brand fan pages. By using the FCB grid model, this study provides guidance on how companies can design their sweepstakes-oriented social media marketing approaches in the context of Facebook brand fan pages by considering their context.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were first reported in December 2019, in China, and an increasing number of cases have since been detected all over the world. The purpose of this study was to collect significant news media reports on food services during the COVID-19 crisis and identify public communication and significant concerns regarding COVID-19 for suggesting future directions for the food industry and services. SUBJECTS/METHODS: News articles pertaining to food services were extracted from the home pages of major news media websites such as BBC, CNN, and Fox News between March 2020 and February 2021. The retrieved data was sorted and analyzed using Python software. RESULTS: The results of text analytics were presented in the format of the topic label and category for individual topics. The food and health category presented the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on food and health, such as an increase in delivery services. The policy category was indicative of a change in government policy. The lifestyle change category addressed topics such as an increase in social media usage. CONCLUSIONS: This study is the first to analyze major news media (i.e., BBC, CNN, and Fox News) data related to food services in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Text analytics research on the food services domain revealed different categories such as food and health, policy, and lifestyle change. Therefore, this study contributes to the body of knowledge on food services research, through the use of text analytics to elicit findings from media sources.
This study explored the relationship between post types and linguistic characteristics in marketer-generated content and social media engagement to find the optimized content to enhance social media engagement level. Post data of 23,588 marketer-generated content were collected from 50 states' destination marketing organization Facebook pages in the United States. Social media is a window for everyone, individuals, communities, and companies to spread ideas and promote trends and products. With these opportunities, challenges and problems related to security, privacy and rights arose. Also, the data accumulated from social media has become a fertile source for many analytics, inference, and experimentation with new technologies in the field of data science. In this chapter, emphasis will be given to methods of trend analysis, especially ensemble learning methods. Ensemble learning methods embrace the concept of cooperation between different learning methods rather than competition between them. Therefore, in this chapter, we will discuss the most important trends in ensemble learning and their applications in analysing social media data and anticipating the most important future trends.
Emergence events are the cause of much economic damage. In order to minimize the damage that these events cause, it must be possible to predict what will happen in the future. Accordingly, many researchers have focused on real-time monitoring, detecting events, and investigating events. In addition, there have also been many studies on predictive analysis for forecasting of future trends. However, most studies provide future tendency per event without contextual compositive analysis. In this paper, we present a predictive visual analytics system using topic composition to provide future trends per event. We first extract abnormal topics from social media data to find interesting and unexpected events. We then search for similar emergence patterns in the past. Relevant topics in the past are provided by news media data. Finally, the user combines the relevant topics and a new context is created for contextual prediction. In a case study, we demonstrate our visual analytics system with two different cases and validate our system with possible predictive story lines.
