Managing Service Recovery via Social Media: The Impact of Transparency and Service Recovery Type in the Distribution of Feedback

  • Purpose: The popularity of social media has altered how customers interact with businesses, and an increasing number of customers prefer to voice their complaints on social media. Bystanders can observe the customer complaint process on social media, but the impact of transparency on bystanders remains uncertain. Therefore, this study established and verified a model for defining the effect of transparency and service recovery types on bystanders. Research Design and Methodology: In this study, we used the internet survey platform "So Jump" to collect data. And we validated three studies with SPSS 26.0 and Smart PLS 4.0. Result: First, we showed that the transparency process (vs. result) is more likely to increase customer forgiveness and E-loyalty and reduce E-NWOM intention among bystanders. Second, customer forgiveness also plays a complementary mediating role between transparency and E-loyalty, as well as between transparency and E-NWOM intention. Finally, we found a modest interaction effect between transparency (process vs. result) and service recovery types (psychological vs. tangible vs. hybrid) on bystanders' customer forgiveness and E-loyalty. Conclusions: This study provides actionable recommendations for how service managers can effectively employ social media as a means for distributing feedback information to manage service recovery in the future.

  • As information systems are introduced in organizations, user attitudes toward IS are crucial factors for the success of such systems. Hence, understanding what affects user attitudes should be a major concern in MIS research. The purpose of this study is to improve the understanding of social influence on IS adoption. Social influence construct is stretched to include four items: subject norm, image, visibility, and voluntariness. Also, this paper examines the roles of two moderators regarding social influence: user characteristics and IT maturity. We could find that 1) social influence has a significant impact on perceived usefulness(PU), perceived ease of use(PEU), and intention, 2) the social influence on PU is more noticeable for knowledge worker than for undergraduate student, and 3) social influence on knowledge worker's PU is stronger for emerging IT(e.g., wireless internet services) than for mature IT(e.g., spreadsheet software).

  • 본 논문의 주안점은 다양한 매스 미디어에 나타난 이벤트(event) 정보를 자동으로 인식하고, 이를 시간 및 장소 축으로 시각화함으로써 특정 이벤트의 시간의 흐름에 따른 장소 이동의 추이를 분석하는 데에 있다. 특히 사용자가 직접 작성한 소셜 미디어에 기반하여 이벤트를 추출하고 그들 간의 연속성 분석을 통해 해당 이벤트의 변화 방향성과 사회적 영향을 가늠할 수 있다. 연속성 이벤트의 특성을 규명하기 위해 2년간의 뉴스 기사 및 트윗(tweet)을 수집하여 관련 도메인 선정을 위한 전수조사를 수행하였다. 수행 결과, '질병'과 '여가'도메인을 선정, 본 논문에서 제안한 시각화 방법을 적용한 사례 연구를 통해 시간 및 장소 관점에서의 시각화를 통한 추이 분석의 효용성과 제안된 방법의 유용성을 검증하였다. 특히 단순 사실기반의 연속성 시각과 결과와 사용자의 관심도가 반영된 소셜 미디어에 기반한 연속성 시각화 결과를 비교한 결과, 같은 시기의 이벤트들이라 하더라도 사회적으로 미치는 파장이 큰 장소 이동의 흐름을 파악할 수 있음을 보였다.

Sentiment Analysis of COVID-19 Tweets: Impact of Pre-processing Step

  • Internet users are increasingly invited to express their opinions on various subjects in social networks, e-commerce sites, news sites, forums, etc. Much of this information, which describes feelings, becomes the subject of study in several areas of research such as: "Sensing opinions and analyzing feelings". It is the process of identifying the polarity of the feelings held in the opinions found in the interactions of Internet users on the web and classifying them as positive, negative, or neutral. In this article, we suggest the implementation of a sentiment analysis tool that has the role of detecting the polarity of opinions from people about COVID-19 extracted from social media (tweeter) in the Arabic language and to know the impact of the pre-processing phase on the opinions classification. The results show gaps in this area of research, first of all, the lack of resources when collecting data. Second, Arabic language is more complexes in pre-processing step, especially the dialects in the pre-treatment phase. But ultimately the results obtained are promising.

청소년의 음란물 이용이 성폭력 가해행동에 미치는 영향 : 가족지지의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Pornography Use Among Adolescents on Violent Sexual Behavior and the Moderating Effect of Family Support)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of pornography use among adolescents on their subsequent violent sexual behavior, and to ascertain the moderating effect of family support. The study was conducted with a sample of 2,087 Korean middle and high-school students. To analyze the data, a descriptive analysis, a correlation analysis, and a Poisson regression were conducted using SPSS 24.0. A Poisson regression was performed because the dependent variable, violent sexual behavior, was measured by the frequency of occurrence, and most responses were distributed at '0', indicating a non-normal distribution. The results indicated that 8.1% of adolescents admitted to having sexually violent experiences over the past year, with a relatively high rate of sexual harassment. Secondly, 53.3% of adolescents had used pornography over the past couple of years, with the highest percentage of use occurring via the Internet. Finally, pornography use among adolescents had a significant and direct impact on their sexually violent behavior, with family support playing a moderating role. This indicated that, for adolescents with a high level of family support, the impact of pornography usage on sexually violent behavior decreased. Based on these results, we discuss practical and policy interventions to prevent sexually violent behavior by adolescents.

중국에서의 소셜 커머스 특성과 소비자 특성이 재구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Repurchase Intention by Social Commerce Traits and Consumer's Traits in China)

  • Purpose - Social commerce is a certain way of how people buy some products together with others through the internet sites with mutual interactions among customers with the benefits of SNS when buying some products. At present, China market has some problems due to its rapid growing. However, empirical research or academic approach to social commerce has not been made enough. So, it is important for Chinese social market to develop and enlarge the customers with stability under the reliability and satisfaction. Also it is important for them to have repurchase intention. Nowadays, it is necessary to find the factors on customer satisfaction and trust, whereas consumers' dissatisfaction and unreliability are increasing on social commerce recently. In addition, researches on social commerce have been actively pursued by a variety of domestic and foreign scholars. However, researches on social commerce and Chinese market are short of, and they have some limitations because of the rapid growth of the market even though it is the early stage. The current situation requires researches on consumers' repurchase intention for continuing growth in the future according to the growth of Chinese social commerce. Research design, data, and methodology - The literature and the empirical studies are combined in order to achieve the purpose of the study. Deriving social commerce features and consumer properties as factors affecting the repurchase intention through the literature, and these factors have modeled a series of assumptions about the impact on satisfaction and trust, and have established hypotheses to verify them. The survey which is conducted to test the hypothesis and questionnaires are derived based on the variables discussed in the previous study. Appropriate measures were developed and tested on 227 respondents in China with a cross-sectional questionnaire survey. The path relationships of the research model were analyzed by SPSS 23.0 and Amos 23.0. Results - Research results about social commerce characteristics and factors affecting the repurchase intention are presented to Chinese market companies that adopt business models and consumer characteristics. In addition, this study focuses on the characteristics of social commerce, from two-dimensional characteristics of the consumer satisfaction, trust and the impact on the repurchase. Therefore, social commerce features and consumer properties based on the results of this study may lead the strategic implications that may increase the repurchase intention. Conclusions - The classification reviewing the previous findings related to social commerce and social commerce features affects social commerce repurchase (price discount, interactivity) and consumer characteristics (impulsivity, innovation, collectivism). It affects repurchase on factors and analyzes empirically. The empirical results identify major characteristics (social commerce characteristics, attributes) that affect the repurchase intention, and give the practical implications as well as the business strategies that are able to enhance social commerce repurchase consumers. 무선 인터넷 서비스의 사용자 수용 (User Acceptance of the Mobile Internet Services)

  • Despite their potential value, the mobile Internet services in the domestic market have not been widely accepted as industry experts have expected. To understand why, this study uses the TAM, Technology Acceptance Model, and explores the factors affecting the usage behavior of the end-users. Based on statistical analysis of survey data, we show that social influence and perceived ease of use affect perceived usefulness, and that self-efficacy and focus significantly influence perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived usefulness is shown to play a significant role in explaining actual usage of the mobile Internet services. However, contrary to the hypothesized relationships, service quality, focus, and innovativeness of users turn out to have little impact on the traditional endogenous TAM variables such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and actual usage behavior. Based on these results, we attempt to provide managerial implications for the domestic mobile Internet service providers and to suggest future research directions in this domain of research.

Mobile Internet News Consumption: An Analysis of News Preferences and News Values

  • Internet news consumption is rapidly growing in Korea, and majority of that is being done through Naver, Korea's primary search engine. Naver is also the go-to search engine for smartphone use. This study analyzed 824 most popular news accessed via mobile gears; the news items were selected from Naver's 'Daily Top 10 Stories,' dating from March 2016 to December 2016. The results indicate that entertainment news were the most viewed, while political and social issue news were the most liked and commented by mobile users. With regard to news value, 'prominence' and 'impact' were the two most important factors that influenced a user's news selection process in a mobile environment. The degree of a news' 'prominence' was the most important factor that determined the number of views, while 'impact' was critical to determining "the most commented-upon" and "the most liked" news. The results also indicate that mobile news consumers prefer more dramatic storylines and events that incite public anger or grief, threaten the safety of citizens, or evoke emotional sympathy rather than 'hard news' about such subjects as politics and economics.

Movie Experience Sharing on Social Networking Sites of Cinema: Interplay between Telepresence and Customer Delight

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of telepresence on young moviegoers' flow experiences and social interactions, and the impact on consumer delight, trust, and experience sharing behavior on cinema mobile social network site pages. Given the scarcity of telepresence research, indirect telepresence on experience sharing via two experiences and social interactions is also included. The study used pages from Korean cinema mobile social network sites, and 175 Chinese moviegoers residing in Korea participated. We found that telepresence positively impacts the activity in both human-human and human-computer interactions. We further contend that telepresence positively affects perceived enjoyment and attentional focus. However, perceived enjoyment does not significantly affect consumer delight. We found that consumer delight positively influences consumer trust and movie experience sharing. Moreover, we illustrated that telepresence significantly and indirectly influences consumer movie experience-sharing behavior through attention focus and consumer delight. Our results provide crucial insights for future study and practical managerial.
