Biochemical research was carried out on 4 human skeletal remains from historical lime-layered tombs assigned to the Joseon Dynasty in Oknam-ri, Seocheon. The preservation of femur was evaluated by stereoscopic microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Most of specimens showed good histological preservation. The histological results proved to be a good potentiality for biochemical analysis using bio-molecules. The amelogenin gene and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) analyses revealed that three specimens perhaps have maternal consanguinity due to sharing with mtDNA haplogroup D4b1, and two specimens buried in the same tomb were a couple in Gatjaegol site. Carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis indicated that four deads diet were built around C3 plant as rice, barley, wheat and bean. In this study we characterized genetic and diet features from the social stratum who could make lime-layered tombs during period of the Joseon Dynasty. The results suggest that biochemical research using the human skeletal remains from the Joseon Dynasty has the great potential and reasonable value for archaeology, anthropology, and population genetics.

The five capital(五京) was installed in the $Li{\acute{a}}o$(遼) Dynasty. $Sh{\acute{a}}ngj{\bar{i}}ng$(上京) was the main capital city of the $Li{\acute{a}}o$(遼) Dynasty. $Zh{\bar{o}}ngj{\bar{i}}ng$(中京) was the second capital(陪都); and the other three was the capital city with symbolic meaning. The layout of $Sh{\grave{a}}ngj{\bar{i}}ng$ was the '日-shaped plan; this was newly advent structure of ancient Chinese capital city system. $Zh{\bar{o}}ngj{\bar{i}}ng$(中京) was surrounded by multiple ramparts influenced by the $Bi{\grave{a}}nli{\acute{a}}ng$ Fortress (?梁城). Three capitals, Nanjing(南京), $X{\bar{i}}j{\bar{i}}ng$(西京) and $D{\bar{o}}ngj{\bar{i}}ng$(東京), were reconstructed on the foundation of the previously constructed town in $T{\acute{a}}ng$(唐) or Bohai(渤海) Fortress (舊城). The structure and Planning of $Sh{\grave{a}}ngj{\bar{i}}ng$(上京) in the $Li{\acute{a}}o$(遼) Dynasty, had significantly influenced in the capital city planning of the $J\bar{i}n$(金), $Yu{\acute{a}}n$(元) and Qing(淸) Dynasties of China

The observation and analysis results of 9 glass bead samples collected from Oc Eo site in Vietnam, an outport of the ancient port city Funan in East Asia, are as follows. The type of glass beads is round, the colors are reddish brown, greenish blue, green, black and purplish blue, and the chemical composition is soda glass group. This means that they are similar in type, color and chemical compositions to glass beads from the ancient Korean peninsula. There are limitations in data because the glass beads are not from excavation investigation but from earth surface investigation. But it is significant that similar making technique and chemical composition are being observed in both the glass beads from Oc Eo and those of Korea. According to "Nihon Shoki" Kinmeiki, Baekje king sent Funan's goods and 2 slaves to Japan in 543. It is clear that there were direct or indirect exchanges between Baekje and Funan. The possibility has grown that glass beads could be included among goods.
