  • This study investigates the influence of social desirability to questionnaire response and data analysis in order to identify the need for social desirability control in clothing consumer research. A questionnaire measuring social desirability, social face sensitivity, clothing shopping behavior, and demographic characteristics was developed. Responses of 234 respondents were analyzed using factor analysis, simple regression analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, descriptive analysis, and Cronbach's alpha analysis. The results were as follow. First, respondents were influenced by social desirability when they responded to items measuring other-conscious social face. Second, the result of regression analysis (that the independent variable was social formality) was less influenced by social desirability control because the influence of social desirability to social formality was insignificant. Conversely, the result of regression analysis (that the independent variable was other-conscious social face) was more influenced by social desirability control because the influence of social desirability to other-conscious social face was significant. This study is an initial study that notices the need for social desirability control in clothing consumer research.

  • As social network services has become one of the most successful web-based business, recommendation in social network sites that assist people to choose various products and services is also widely adopted. Collaborative Filtering is one of the most widely adopted recommendation approaches, but recommendation technique that use explicit or implicit social network information from social networks has become proposed in recent research works. In this paper, we reviewed and compared research works about recommendation using social network analysis and collaborative filtering in social network sites. As the results of the analysis, we suggested the trends and implications for future research of recommendation in SNSs. It is expected that graph-based analysis on the semantic social network and systematic comparative analysis on the performances of social filtering and collaborative filtering are required.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the Korean social workers' level of social work values, advocacy attitude and advocacy intervention, and to verify the relations among social work education, social work advocacy and social work values by examining whether social work education influences social work advocacy and social work values, and whether social work values affect social work advocacy. Further, this study wishes to confirm not only the direct effect that social work education has on social work advocacy, but also how social work education indirectly influences social work advocacy through social work values on the social level as a mediator. The research of this study was conducted on 461 social work practitioners who have obtained either social worker licenses or mental health social worker licenses and are currently working in the field. As survey tools, this study utilized social work advocacy attitude, social work advocacy intervention, outcomes of social work education, social work values, self-esteem and locus of control. Collected data were analyzed by using SPSS/PC+ 11.5 for one-way ANOVA and t-test, Pearson's correlation, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis and multiple regression. To sum up the results of the study in terms of the research hypothesis, the research hypothesis was established according to the analysis method of the testing mediation of Baron & Kenny (1986) in order to examine whether social work values on the social level intervene between social work education and social work advocacy. The results of the hypothesis test confirm that social work values on the social level serve as a mediator variable.

  • In this paper, we propose the system for automatic generation of issue analysis report based on social big data mining, with the purpose of resolving three problems of the previous technologies in a social media analysis and analytic report generation. Three problems are the isolation of analysis, the subjectivity of experts and the closure of information attributable to a high price. The system is comprised of the natural language query analysis, the issue analysis, the social big data analysis, the social big data correlation analysis and the automatic report generation. For the evaluation of report usefulness, we used a Likert scale and made two experts of big data analysis evaluate. The result shows that the quality of report is comparatively useful and reliable. Because of a low price of the report generation, the correlation analysis of social big data and the objectivity of social big data analysis, the proposed system will lead us to the popularization of social big data analysis.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility has become a hot issue for modern enterprises recently. Under this trend, companies have to focus on what they can do for society instead of on just making profits. This paper is to explore the relationship between ecological corporate social responsibility and organizational performance in the construction industry in Taiwan. 192 samples were collected from Taiwan's general contractors and analyzed using factor analysis, correlation analysis and path analysis. This study found: (1) in general, the contractors in Taiwan don't devote much to realizing ecological corporate social responsibility, and there is still much room for improvement; (2) the correlation analysis results indicated there are significant positive relationships between ecological corporate social responsibility and organizational performance; and (3) according to the path analysis results, a contractor can improve its business performance by improving its realization of corporate social responsibility.

Recently, bigdata anlalytics challenge traditional methods by providing efficient ways to identify social trend and hidden issues in the public sector. In this study the authors introduce a case study using social bigdata analytics for conducting policy analysis. A semantic network analysis was employed using textual data from social media including online news, blog, and private bulletin board which create buzz on the startup business. Results indicates that each media has been forming different discourses regarding government's policy on the startup business. Furthermore, semantic network structures from private bulletin board reveal unexpected social burden that hiders opening a startup, which has not been found in the traditional survey nor experts interview. Based on these results, the authors found the feasibility of using social bigdata analysis for policy-making. Methodological and practical implications are discussed.

The subjects of this study were 230 social welfare facility workers in OO city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. Analysis was conducted using the SPSS program, including frequency analysis, reliability analysis and correlation analysis, and regression analysis on the causal relationship between variables. The results of the study showed that the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers had a meaningful effect on their emotional commitment, continuous commitment and normative commitment. These results confirmed that the higher the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers, the higher the sub-factors of organizational commitment, such as emotional, continuous, normative commitment, resulting in positive effects on the achievement of goals and values that are pursued by the welfare facilities. This study aims to become foundational data for the improvement of working conditions to improve psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers to increase organizational commitment.

  • The study explores social enterprises' social goals by analysing their mission so as to better understand their perceptions of social problems. Based on the analysis, the study reconsiders the mission of the current era of the Korean social economy. Accordingly, self-disclosed social enterprise data were collected and analyzed using LDA topic modeling and social network analysis methods. Seven mission topics were extracted, and the network centering on key keywords was derived. The analysis results largely divided the social purposes of social enterprises into three categories: 'social purpose that social enterprises want to achieve', 'activities to achieve the purpose', and 'operation method to achieve the purpose'. The study is meaningful in that it emphasizes the importance of establishing and implementing social goals from the point of view of the social economy as well as realizing the economic value of social enterprises by analyzing their mission.

  • Social network analysis is a graphical technique to search the relationships and characteristics of nodes (people, companies, and organizations) and an important node for positioning a visualized social network figure; however, it is difficult to characterize nodes in a social network figure. Therefore, their relationships and characteristics could be presented through an application of correspondence analysis to an affiliation matrix that is a type of similarity matrix between nodes. In this study, we provide the relationships and characteristics around authors and keywords in the JKSS(Journal of the Korean Statistical Society) of the Korean Statistical Society through the use of social network analysis and correspondence analysis.
