Augmented reality smart-glass enables healthcare providers to use patient and their care related information without interference of workflow. In addition, augmented reality smart-glass simulation had advantages in improving competency via remote collaboration and real-time information sharing. This study investigated perception and attitude regarding augmented reality smart glass based healthcare simulation on three different groups of healthcare major students, computer major students, developers and faculties. Using convenience sampling method, data were obtained from 95 participants and statistical analysis were performed using SPSS 25.0. Developer and faculty group showed the highest scores, followed by healthcare major students. There was the high expectation on augmented reality smart-glass for skill acquisition and the high performance and big screen were essential features of device. The findings of this study revealed that differences between healthcare and computer major students exist and strategies to reduce those gaps are required to adopt augmented reality smart glass in healthcare settings.

This paper proposes a smart glass-based emergency tele-medical direction system. This system is designed for hospital specialists to provide remote medical guidance to on-site coast guards or emergency responders. To identify the requirements necessary for system development, relevant technological trends and case studies were analyzed. Based on this analysis, three system requirements were defined: 1) The system must be able to determine the necessity of patient transport, 2) It should assist in providing emergency medical care during transport to the hospital, and 3) It must be capable of transmitting patient information to medical facilities. A prototype that meets these requirements was developed and its usability was evaluated.
In this study, we assessed the hydrophilic characteristics of the surface of toughened glass used in smartphones by investigating the optical properties and contact angle characteristics of the plasma device. In this study, the characteristics were different depending on the partial pressure of the gas, input voltage, and degree of ionization of argon gas. In this study, the surface of the toughened glass became more hydrophilic, as indicated by contact angle and light spectrum, after plasma treatment than before the treatment.

Nowadays, the touch screen panel (TSP) cover glass for mobile smart devices is being developed with a curved glass shape due to different design requirements. Because the sizes of mobile smart devices continue to increase, there has also been a great increase in the demand for large-area curved glass greater than 20 inches. In this study, heat and fluid flow analysis using CFD was performed to optimize the heating surface temperature distribution of the large curved glass formation system. Five cooling water flow paths in the cooling block were designed and analyzed for each case. A function that can quantitatively calculate the temperature uniformity of the heating surface was proposed and these values were obtained for the five models. The temperature distributions of the heating surface and the energy consumption of the heating system were also compared and comprehensively analyzed. Based on the analysis results of the five different cooling channel path models, the optimal path design could be presented.

Smart structural system is defined as structural system with a certain-level of autonomy relying on the embedded functions of sensors, actuators and processors, that can automatically adjust structural characteristics, in response to the change in external disturbance and environments, toward structural safety and serviceability as well as the extension of structural service life. In this study, carbon and glass hybrid fiber materials were investigated fundamentally for the applicability of self diagnosis in smart concrete structural system as embedded functions of sensors.
In these days, due to generalization of using smart mobile phone and wearable device such as smart watch, demand of Cover-glass and touch screen panel for protecting display increases. With increasing the demand of Cover-glass, slimming technique is promising for weight lightening, zero bezel. Cover-glass produced by this technique is required to decreasing thickness with increase strength. In the Cover-glass manufacturing process, mechanical processing and chemical processing has improve in the strength. Generally, Diamond electrodeposition wheel is used in mechanical process. Reinforced glass with the characteristics of the brittle and high hardness was manufactured by using a diamond electrodeposition wheel. At this time, Because of surface of the tool present non-uniform distribution of diamond particle, it has generate Loading of wheel and it has been decrease life of grinding tool, efficiency of grinding, quality and shape accuracy of workpiece. Thus Research is needed to controling particle distribution of diamond electrodeposition wheel uniformly. And it is necessary to study micro hole machining such as proximity senser hole, speaker hole positioned Cover-glass. Reinforced glass with the characteristics of the brittle and high hardness is difficult to machining. Processing of reinforced glass have generated wear of tool, micro cracks. Also, it is decreasing shape accuracy. In this paper, We conducted a study on how to control particle distribution uniformly about the diamond tool manufactured using elecetodeposition processing. It analyzed the factors that affect the arrangement of the particles in the electrodeposition process by design of experiment. And There is produced the grinding tool, which derives an optimum deposition conditions, for processing Cover-glass edge and the machinability was evaluated.

In this study, we fabricated light-weight solar module for various applications such as building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), vehicles, trains, etc. Ethylene tetra fluoro ethylene (ETFE) film was applied as a material to replace the cover glass, which occupies more than 65% of the weight of the PV module. Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) was applied to the ones with a low durability by replacing the cover glass to ETFE. Moreover, to achieve a high solar power conversion in this study, we applied a shingled design to weight reduced solar modules. The shingled module with GRP shows 183.7 W of solar-to-power conversion, and the output reduction rate after weight load test was 1.14%.

Earthwork is to level or excavate the ground to provide a space for installing structures. A large number of construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, and dump trucks are put into the earthwork operation. The equipment operators need to constantly communicate with each other during the operation. In the earthwork operation, therefore, the process should be analyzed on the equipment operation to improve the effectiveness of communication. The objective of this study is to understand the earthwork process, and improve the effectiveness of data interface by adopting the smart glass technology. In the study, the general process of earthwork is modeled using a process diagram. The data that is generated during the process is modeled using a class diagram. A database is developed to store and reuse the data. The smart glass technology is adopted to develop a data interface during the earthwork operation. The result of the prototype showed that the technology can improve the data interface during excavation overcoming the shortcomings of hand or sound signals.
It is necessary to develop new methods to prevent catastrophic failure of structural material in order to avoid accidents and conserve natural and energy resources. Design of intelligent materials with a self-diagnosing function to prevent fatal fracture of structural materials was achieved by smart composites consisting of carbon fiber tows or carbon powders with a small value of ultimate elongation and glass fiber tows with a large value of ultimate elongation. The changes in electrical resistance of CF-GFRP/GFRP (carbon fiber and glass fiber-reinforced plastics/glass fiber-reinforced plastics) composites increased abruptly with increasing strain, and a tremendous change was seen at the transition point where carbon fiber tows were broken. Therefore, the composites were not to monitor damage from the early stage. On the other hand, the change in electrical resistance of CP-GFRP/GFRP (carbon powder dispersed in glass fiber-reinforced plastics/glass fiber-reinforced plastics) composites increased almost linearly in proportion to strain. CP-GFRP/GFRP composites are superior to CF-GFRP/GFRP composites in terms of their capability to monitor damage by measuring change in electrical resistance from the early stage of damage. However, the former was inferior to the latter as an application because of the difficulties of mass production and high cost. A method based on monitoring damage by measuring changes in the electrical resistance of structural materials is promising for improved reliability of the material.
