Analysis on the Teachers' Utilization Levels of Smart Devices for Their Improvement (스마트기기에 대한 교사의 활용 수준과 개선 사항에 대한 실태 분석)

  • Smart classrooms have been set up nationwide to utilize smart devices for teaching and learning in the knowledge- based society, As this trend might quickly spread, we have investigated the utilization levels, and issues around the facilities from the experienced teachers. In order to study the impact of easy access to smart devices, the teacher sampling groups were divided into two: one teacher group responsible for smart classrooms and the other group teaching in ordinary classrooms. Survey questions dealt with teacher needs analyses, their expectation of their students' attitude changes, their satisfaction and utilization levels of smart devices currently built in classrooms. The results showed us that teachers have vague expectation about the smart devices and want more highly applicable devices for instruction, improvement of their compatibility with other multimedia devices or applications as well as to improve the resolution of electronic boards. and basic functions of information search and videos that they use everyday.

  • Smart TV is to form a market of new industries along with the smartphone that appeared in the early 2000s. With the development of IT technology and the emergence of smart phones, user to pursue the application of high satisfaction. The smartphone has to meet the needs of the user in a variety of applications. However, Smart TV which led to a decrease in the development of a member of the application that reflect the needs of the user. Smart TV is popularized, the approach may be used instead of the application of high specification, the smart TV feel to be a smart are required to meet the needs of the user. Therefore in this paper, using the latest IT technology to provide a smart TV applications. This provides a feeling in conjunction as a system of one smart TV, smartphone, the exercise bike like to travel the distance of the actual user.   • In education, innovative ways of teaching and learning are always under development and keep being proposed with advanced concepts since the ancient times. Student-centered learning, problem-based learning and cooperative learning have been three major trends under development in secondary education research and practice more than a decade or so. Combined with advanced information and communication technologies, these trends will greatly transform the way we teach and learn in classroom environment and may change the classroom environment itself, into a more interactive and self-centered coaching type environment. In this study, a smart environment that utilizes advanced information technology devices and network is conceptualized, accommodating requirements contained and proposed in the recent trendy pedagogies. Pedagogical cases discussed in these trends are analyzed in detail, producing requirements for such a learning and coaching environment. These requirements are modeled using unified modeling language, leading to a proposal of a basic architecture for an information system supporting this environment.

A Study on Smart Factory Construction Method for Efficient Production Management in Sewing Industry

  • In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, many production plants are gradually evolving into smart factories that apply information and communication technology to manufacturing, distribution, production, and quality management. The conversion from conventional factories to smart factories has resulted in the automation of production sites using the internet and the internet of things (IoT) technology. Thus, labor-intensive production can easily collect necessary information. However, implementing a smart factory required a significant amount of time, effort, and money. In particular, labor-intensive production industries are not automated, and productivity is determined by human skill. A representative industry of such industries is sewing the industry. In the sewing industry, wherein productivity is determined by the operator's skills. This study suggests that production performance, inventory management and product delivery of the sewing industries can be managed efficiently with existing production method by using smart buttons incorporating IoT functions, without using automated machinery.

A Study on Marker-based Detection Method of Object Position using Perspective Projection

  • With the mark of the fourth industrial revolution, the smart factory is evolving into a new future manufacturing plant. As a human-machine-interactive tool, augmented reality (AR) helps workers acquire the proficiency needed in smart factories. The valuable data displayed on the AR device must be delivered intuitively to users. Current AR applications used in smart factories lack user movement calibration, and visual fiducial markers for position correction are detected only nearby. This paper demonstrates a marker-based object detection using perspective projection to adjust augmented content while maintaining the user's original perspective with displacement. A new angle, location, and scaling values for the AR content can be calculated by comparing equivalent marker positions in two images. Two experiments were conducted to verify the implementation of the algorithm and its practicality in the smart factory. The markers were well-detected in both experiments, and the applicability in smart factories was verified by presenting appropriate displacement values for AR contents according to various movements.

Smart Sensor Management System Supporting Service Plug-In in MQTT-Based IIoT Applications

  • Industrial IoT applications, including smart factories, require two problem-solving to build data monitoring systems required by services from distributed IoT sensors (smart sensors). One is to overcome proprietary protocols, data formats, and hardware differences and to uniquely identify and connect IoT sensors, and the other is to overcome the problem of changing the server-side data storage structure and sensor data transmission format according to the addition or change of service or IoT sensors. The IEEE 1451.4 standard-based or IPMI specification-based smart sensor technology supports the development of plug-and-play sensors that solve the first problem. However, there is a lack of research that requires a second problem-solving, which requires support for the plug-in of IoT sensors into remote services. To propose a solution for the integration of these two problem-solving, we present a IoT sensor platform, a service system architecture, and a service plugin protocol for the MQTT-based IIoT application environment.

  • This study suggests how to use tablet PC application to improve the cognitive functions of the elderly. As a part of lifelong education, this study analyzes cases of developing and applying smart application programs to contribute to the enhancement of science education as an elderly education. For the research, we set the direction of the program and developed the programs 'Coloring,' 'Building lights,' 'Matching shapes,' and 'Pressing button' accordingly. As a result of applying the program to nine participants, each program has a positive effect on the improvement of cognitive function of the elderly. This shows the possibility of using smart applications as a cognitive function enhancement program for the elderly.

  • This paper focuses on developing and strengthening realistic media education programs through the introduction of smart glass for reasonable development and operation of academic research as well as hands-on learning and services provided by museums in modern society where the labor market changes. Through this study and case, a paper was written to improve the quality of museum education programs and hands-on learning through smart glass, and to provide higher education services to the people and contribute to the development by helping academic research.

The Intelligence APP development for children's Kanji character education using Block and Stop motion

  • With the growing shift from traditional educational approaches and studying to the more digital classroom, using electronic textbooks and digital native's demand, there is a growing need to develop new methods for learn Kanji characters for children. The purpose of this study is to help children learn the basic Kanji by using stop motion and block methods, and approaching the basic Kanji character education with a more innovative and interactive smart phone APP. In the development of this smart phone App for children's Kanji character education proposed in this study, 100 basic Kanji characters for children are selected. These 100 characters are required for the stop motion animation production, where each selected Kanji is created as a stop-motion animation utilizing a variety of techniques, such as storytelling, to better engage children. The intelligent App is designed with image recognition technology, so that in the learning process children take a picture for the assembled block using their smart phone, the APP then recognizes whether it is assembled correctly, and then plays an animation corresponding to the assembled Kanji character.
