The smart convergence environment, in which all industries are converged around ICT infrastructure -- with the eventual inclusion of both industry and culture -- looms. With the emergence of new convergence industries such as smart medicine, smart cities, and smart automobiles, the ICT infrastructure is recognized as the foundation of the overall economy. As such, the importance of the next generation of information and communication construction businesses, which constructs the ICT infrastructure, is highlighted under the smart convergence paradigm environment; various multilateral policies to foster the information and communication construction business -- led by the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning -- are being implemented. Like other infrastructure industries, however, the estimation of the demand function of the information and communication construction business overall is essential for effectively establishing promotional policies for information and communication construction businesses. However, there has been no study which theoretically estimates the market demand function in the information and communication construction business thus far. The pursuit of a creative economy is a national agenda, as the significance of accelerating the ICT infrastructure is emphasized. Therefore, this paper seeks to estimate quantitatively the demand function in the information and communication construction business using empirical data and a statistical model and then to present policy implications which will aid the development of the information and communication construction business.
In recent years, the Augmented Reality Technology is improving in order to support the user-oriented interaction depending on growing trend in smart phones. In this paper, we present the Realistic Experience App. Contents which help the smart phone users experience the real situations by using the Object Recognition Technology of the tourist attractions and the users' location information. The developed system pinpoints both the location of the user and that of the tourist spot object through the GPS of the smart phone and the information of Beacon, providing the realistic experience contents about the tourist attraction after estimating the distance and the direction between the user and the place. The Realistic Experience App. Contents are expected not only to impress the culture of Jeju on the tourists but also to increase the potential to uncover the unknown tourist attractions and improve the image of Jeju as one of the best sightseeing cities.

Informational urbanism is a new research area in information science. In this study, art history joins informational urbanism: Are digital artworks in public urban spaces recognized as essential assets of a smart city? We employed case study research, working with the example of the huge digital media façade of the Arthouse Graz as an artwork in a public space. In a mixed-methods approach, we asked passers-by and interviewed experts on Graz as a smart city and on the Arthouse's role concerning the image of Graz as a smart city. The research found strong hints that indeed digital artworks with large screens or media façades at public spaces are parts of a city's weak location factors as well as of the city's urban structure and may symbolize the city's smartness. A practical implication of this finding is that artists, computer and information scientists, city planners, and architects should include interactive contemporary digital art into city spaces in order to demonstrate the city's way towards knowledge society.

Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) network, is increasingly becoming a ubiquitous connectivity between different advanced applications such as smart cities, smart homes, smart grids, and many others. The emerging network of smart devices and objects enables people to make smart decisions through machine to machine (M2M) communication. Most real-world security and IoT-related challenges are vulnerable to various attacks that pose numerous security and privacy challenges. Therefore, IoT offers efficient and effective solutions. intrusion detection system (IDS) is a solution to address security and privacy challenges with detecting different IoT attacks. To develop an attack detection and a stable network, this paper's main objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of existing intrusion detections system for IoT environment, cyber-security threats challenges, and transparent problems and concerns are analyzed and discussed. In this paper, we propose software-defined IDS based distributed cloud architecture, that provides a secure IoT environment. Experimental evaluation of proposed architecture shows that it has better detection and accuracy than traditional methods.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the utilization forms of hydrogen fuel cells, which are the core of building a smart city, and suggest ways to solve them. In the case of power plants to utilize hydrogen fuel cell, it was analyzed as the most promising form of use in the future due to the advantage of being free from intermittence problems. However, despite many advantages, local residents' opposition continues to emerge due to concerns about explosions and the problem of carbon dioxide generation in the case of certain hydrogen production methods, and it is analyzed that resolving them will be the main key to establishing the smart city. Finally, by analyzing the current hydrogen production method and identifying the problems facing it, the solution for the complete construction of the smart city was presented.
In a new age of smart tourism, free independent travelers (FITs) choose their travel routes in a more diversified and less predictable way with the aid of smart services. This paper focuses on the movements of Chinese outbound FITs in the U.S. in the year of 2018. 110 places to visit (destinations) extracted from 122 travel routes recommendations on Qyer.com, a major online travel community in China, are analyzed with social network analysis (SNA). Based on the results of SNA, employing degree centrality, eigenvector centrality, betweenness centrality, network visualization, and cluster diagram methods, some preferred cities and natural attractions outside city centers (i.e., New York City (NYC), Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Niagara Falls) are identified. Moreover, it is found that NYC in the East and Los Angeles in the West play a major role in the movements of Chinese FITs. This study contributes to the body of knowledge on tourist destination movements and provides valuable implications for smart service development in the tourism and hospitality industry.
This study aims to propose a smart city governance logic model that can accommodate more diverse information service systems by mixing hub-and-spoke and blockchain technologies as a data management model. Specifically, the research focuses on deriving the logic of an operating system that can work across smart city planning based on the two data governance technologies. The first step of the logic is the generation and collection of information, which is first divided into information that requires information protection and information that can be shared with the public, and the information that requires privacy is blockchainized, and the shared information is integrated and aggregated in a data hub. The next step is the processing and use of the information, which can actively use the blockchain technology, but for the information that can be shared other than the protected information, the governance logic is built in parallel with the hub-and-spoke type. Next is the logic of the distribution stage, where the key is to establish a service contact point between service providers and beneficiaries. Also, This study proposes the establishment of a one-to-one data exchange relationship between information providers, information consumers, and information processors. Finally, in order to expand and promote citizen participation opportunities through a reasonable compensation system in the operation of smart cities, we developed virtual currency as a local currency and designed an open operation logic of local virtual currency that can operate in the compensation dimension of information.
As a way to solve the side effects of urban development, a smart city with information and communication technology converges in the city is being built. For this, a smart city platform should support the development and integration of smart city services. Therefore, the underlying technology and the functional and non-functional requirements that the smart platform must support were analyzed. As a result of this, we classified the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data and cyber-physical systems into four categories as the underlying technologies supported by the smart city platform, and derived the functional and non-functional requirements that can be implemented and the reference model of the smart city platform. The reference model of the smart city platform is used for decision-making on investment in infrastructure technology and the development scope of services according to functional or non-functional requirements to solve specific city problems for city managers. It provides platform developers with guidelines to identify and determine the functional and non-functional requirements and implementation technologies of software platforms for building smart cities.

Recently, there has been growing interest in spatial data that combines information and communication technology with smart cities. The high-precision LiDAR (Light Dectection and Ranging) equipment is mainly used to collect three-dimensional spatial data, and the acquired data is also used to model geographic features and to manage plant construction and cultural heritages which require precision. The LiDAR equipment can collect precise data, but also has limitations because they are expensive and take long time to collect data. On the other hand, in the field of computer vision, research is being conducted on the methods of acquiring image data and performing 3D reconstruction based on image data without expensive equipment. Thus, precise 3D spatial data can be constructed efficiently by collecting and processing image data using CCTVs which are installed as infrastructure facilities in smart cities. However, this method can have an accuracy problem compared to the existing equipment. In this study, experiments were conducted and the results were analyzed to increase the number of extracted matching points by applying the feature-based method and the area-based method in order to improve the precision of 3D spatial data built with image data acquired from stereo CCTVs. For techniques to extract matching points, SIFT algorithm and PATCH algorithm were used. If precise 3D reconstruction is possible using the image data from stereo CCTVs, it will be possible to collect 3D spatial data with low-cost equipment and to collect and build data in real time because image data can be easily acquired through the Web from smart-phones and drones.

The development of ICT technology has a huge impact on the existing closed CCTV security equipment market. With the importance of video data particularly highlighted in areas such as self-driving cars, unmanned vehicles and smart cities, various technologies using video are emerging. In this paper, we proposed a method to transmit videos and metadata as a part of smart city integration, and to solve the traffic, environment and security problems caused in urban life by utilizing the metadata instead of using CCTV videos for simple recording purposes, and reverse tunneling technique was designed and implemented as a method for accessing CCTV videos for vehicles from remote locations. Integrated management of CCTV videos and metadata for vehicles that have been used only for limited purposes in closed environments will enable efficient operation of integrated centers in real time required by smart cities, such as vehicle status check, road conditions and facility management.
