A Proprietary Model of Continuously Variable Transmission System using Spline

  • In each country, efforts are being made to replace engine-driven cars and motorcycles using fossil fuels with electric drive. Electrically driven vehicles have the advantage of no harmful gas or environmental pollution and low noise. In the motorcycle market, China accounts for more than 95% of the world, and the electric motorcycle market is being revitalized due to the strengthening of regulations. Japan is actively preparing to include electric motorcycles in ISO 26262, forming a TF team centered on electric motorcycle producers. Therefore, it is necessary to respond to standardization targeting China and Japan in Korea. In this study, we propose a proprietary transmission model that can be applied to small electric vehicles that can be operated in hilly domestic terrain. The proposed continuously variable transmission model is a continuously variable transmission system which moves the pin between the basic disk and the rotary disk using a spline to perform shifting. The proposed continuously variable transmission model is used in the pulley configuration by connecting the linear type spline and the inclined spline with the central axis of the basic disk and the rotational disk, respectively. In addition, it can be divided into two types according to the application of the auxiliary disk, and the production drawing is completed for the practical use of the model.

A Efficient Network Security Management Model in Industrial Control System Environments (산업제어시스템 환경에서 효과적인 네트워크 보안 관리 모델)

  • The industrial control system (ICS) has operated as a closed network in the past, but it has recently been linked to information and communications services and has been causing damage due to cyber attacks. As a countermeasure, the Information Communication Infrastructure Protection Act was enacted, but it cannot be applied to various real control environments because there is only a one-way policy-from a control network to a business network. In addition, IEC62443 defines an industrial control system reference model as an international standard, and suggests an area security model using a firewall. However, there is a limit to linking an industrial control network, operating as a closed network, to an external network only through a firewall. In this paper, we analyze the security model and research trends of the industrial control system at home and abroad, and propose an industrial control system security model that can be applied to the actual interworking environments of various domestic industrial control networks. Also, we analyze the security of firewalls, industrial firewalls, network connection equipment, and one-way transmission systems. Through a domestic case and policy comparison, it is confirmed that security is improved. In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the proposed security model can be applied to security management measures for various industrial control fields, such as smart factories, smart cars, and smart plants.

Design and fabrication of a 300A class general-purpose current sensor (300A급 일반 산업용 전류센서의 설계 및 제작)

  • Current sensors are used widely in the fields of current control, monitoring, and measuring. They have become more popular with the increasing demand for smart grids in a power network, generation of renewable energy, electric cars, and hybrid cars. Although open loop Hall effect current sensors have merits, such as low cost, small size, and weight, they have low accuracy. This paper describes the design and fabrication of a 300A open loop current sensor that has high accuracy and temperature performance. The core of the current sensor was calculated numerically and the signal conditioning circuits were designed using circuit analysis software. The characteristics of the manufactured open loop current sensor of 300 A class was measured at currents up to 300 A. According to the test of the current sensor, the accuracy error and linearity error were 0.75% and 0.19%, respectively. When the temperature compensation was carried out with the relevant circuit, the temperature coefficients were less than $0.012%/^{\circ}C$ at temperatures between $-25^{\circ}C$ and $85^{\circ}C$.

  • In order to accelerate the commercialization of self-driving cars, it is necessary to accurately identify the causes of deteriorating the driving safety of the current self-driving cars and try to improve them. This study conducted a questionnaire survey of experts studying autonomous driving in Korea to identify the causes of problems in the driving safety of autonomous vehicles and the level of autonomous driving technology in Korea. As a result of the survey, the construction section, heavy rain/heavy snow conditions, fine dust conditions, and the presence of potholes were less satisfied with the current technology level than their importance, and thus priority research and development was required. Among them, the failure of road/road facilities and the performance of the sensor itself in the construction section and the porthole, and the performance of the sensor and the absence of an algorithm were the most responsible for the situation connected to the weather. In order to realize safe autonomous driving as soon as possible, it is necessary to continuously identify and resolve the causes that hinder the driving safety of autonomous vehicles.

All sorts of infortainments services connecting with the portable electronic device(Smart phone, tablet PC, and MP3 player) and car are rapidly grown. The Connected car emphasizes the vehicle connectivity with the concept that the car has communication with the around on a real time basis and it provides the safety and expedience to the operator and using the thing of Internet (IoT) in the car and supports the application, presently, the entertainment service including the real-time Navigation, parking assistant function, not only the remote vehicle control and management service but also Email, multimedia streaming service, SNS and with the platform. Intelligent vehicle network is studied as the kind according to MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) for the safety operation of the cars of the road and improving the efficiency of the driving.

  • In Korea, partial self-driving feature is added on Genesis G80, Tivoli 2017, and others, and full implementation is under evaluation. Tesla already completed test for full self-driving car, Tesla Model 'X'. Further adoption of self-driving car in market will bring benefits to the elderly and disabled, meanwhile traffic accident will be decreased. However, related regulations for traffic accident with autonomous car including ethical responsibility is not fully established yet. In addition, security and privacy issue of self-driving cars should be improved as well. In this paper, domestic researches and analysis status on autonomous car will be summarized, and proper activation model will be proposed for the previously described issues.

  • Ground Transportation is one of the most required field that users need positioning information Especially, more precise position can make smart traffic management possible and bring convenience to users. By advanced wireless network, cars can receive the GPS information of reference station in any tim e and any where. Thus land vehicles are possible to process precise positioning. In general, for precise positioning code and phase measurements are used. But receivers provide not only code and phase measurements but also doppler measurements and Doppler is direct measurement of velocity. In this paper, because velocity is very important information required in Ground Transportation, precise positioning for Ground Transportation is studied. For precise positioning RTK(Real-Time Kinematic) was used and double differenced doppler measurements were added, As a Result, positioning error by multipath and cycle slip was soften. However there still remained Positioning error. Thus smoothing technique using doppler measurement in position domain is used for softening positioning error.

  • Head-Up Display, an information-providing display, is a device that provides necessary information through a vehicle window for a driver when driving, with which the driver secures the visibility and acquires information necessary for driving. Head-up displays in early days were mostly installed in imported vehicles but increasingly, being installed in medium and large-sized domestic vehicles, they secures convenience of driving and information acquirement. The information display element of each of currently released brand cars not only has limits in consistency and in displaying interface but also reveals the limitation of a way to apply GUI, being applied to dot reflective form in terms of the technology type. Accordingly, this study draws real time information element described as necessary during driving through case survey and analysis, and aims to provide a user with new GUI guideline through transparent display technology recently developed based on results analyzed with priority of POI(Point of Interest) information.

Determination of safety factor for agricultural gear reducer using simulation software

  • Agricultural gear reducers are used in a variety of agricultural machinery designs such as in agricultural tractors and transport cars, and even greenhouses. For greenhouses, a gear reducer is used to control windows on the side and the roof. Gear reducers for agricultural applications are designed using the empirical method because of the lack of a standard for experimentation. Simulation is necessary for the optimal design of an agricultural gear reducer. There are many advantages to this optimization such as low-cost maintenance, reduced size, and weight. In this study, bending and contact safety factor simulation for the gear reducer of a greenhouse was conducted by decreasing the face widths of helical gear shaft 2 and shaft 3 from 30.8 and 30 mm, respectively, at an interval of 4 mm. The bending and contact safety factors were calculated using AGMA standard. Simulation results showed that bending and contact safety factors decreased rapidly when the face width of the helical gear on shaft 2 was 30 mm and the face width of helical gear on shaft 3 decreased from 30.8 mm to 26.8 mm, suggesting that it would be safe to reduce the face width of the helical gear on shaft 3 to 26.8 mm. The reduction of the face width also reduced the weight of the agricultural gear. This study suggests that the agricultural gear reducer safety factor decreases as the face width decreases.
