  • Smart TV is approaching as a new media service to integrate the broadcasting and the internet according to the technology evaluation of convergence to broadcasting, telecommunication, and computing. Therefore, This paper proposes the next generation smart TV(Smart TV 2.0) technology based on CPNT which supports those services such as the broadcasting, telecommunication, a convergence of broadcasting & communication, and computer service through multi-screen. Also, this paper describes the concept and details of the related technologies.

  • 스마트TV 관련 사업자들은 적어도 당분간은 스마트TV 보급 및 확산을 위해 스마트TV 기능의 탑재율을 높이고 콘텐츠를 마련하는 등 다각도의 노력을 지속할 것으로 보인다. 이용자들은 스마트TV 기능에 대한 기대를 가진 사람뿐만 아니라 단순히 고사양의 TV로 교체하려는 구매자까지 스마트TV를 구매할 확률이 높아지므로 스마트TV의 확산은 당분간은 지속될 것으로 보인다. 스마트TV에 대한 수용도 조사 결과, 스마트TV를 이용해보지 않은 이용자들은 스마트TV 2.0의 가치를 이해하지 못하여 수용도가 낮게 나타났으나 스마트TV 1.0을 경험해본 소비자들은 이미 고도화될때로 고도화된 스마트폰에서의 편리한 경험과 비교하여 스마트TV가 아직은 불편하고 볼꺼리도 부족한 상태라는 것을 바로 인지하게 되므로 스마트TV 2.0에 대한 수용도가 훨씬 높게 나타났다. 따라서 스마트TV 서비스와 산업의 지속적인 성장 발전을 위해서는 이용자들의 기대수준에 맞는 스마트TV로 조속히 진화 발전할 수 있도록 준비해야 할 것이다.

  • 인터넷의 발달과 웹 어플리케이션의 활성화로 Internet Connected TV가 차지하는 비율이 점차 늘어나고, 스마트폰의 선풍적인 인기와 시장의 영향으로 디지털 TV에도 Smart TV의 바람이 불고 있다. Smart TV의 기술을 수신기 관점에서 살펴보았을 때, 방송과 웹이라는 두 가지 분야의 기술과 표준을 생각할 수 있다. 이에, 방송 분야에 대해서는 북미 ATSC 2.0, ATSC PT-3, 유럽 HbbTV 와 DVB-IPTV, 그리고 한국의 OHTV를 표준 관점에서 서비스 및 기술을 서로 비교하고, 다음으로 웹에 대한 기술과 표준화는 W3C의 HTML5, Web and TV 그리고 MPEG에서의 DASH를 살펴보기로 한다.

  • 한국정보통신기술협회(이하,TTA)에서는 "HTML5 기반 스마트 TV 플랫폼(TTAK.KO-07.0111/R2)"표준(이하, 스마트 TV 2.0 표준)을 2016 년 6 월에 개정하였으며, 본 논문에서는 스마트 TV 2.0 표준을 준수하여 개발되는 스마트 TV 용 앱 개발도구(SDK, Software Development Kit)의 두 가지 확장 내용을 다룬다. 첫 번째 확장 내용은 스마트 TV 2.0 표준이 개정됨에 따라 추가되는 기능인 고급입력 API, 녹화 및 다운로드 API 인터페이스를 확인하고 검증할 수 있는 검증기능 구현에 대한 내용이며, 두 번째 확장 내용은 표준기반 TV 애뮬레이터를 스마트 TV 앱 개발도구에서 사용 가능하게 하는 인터페이스 구현에 대한 내용이다. 본 논문에서는 표준기반 서비스를 만드는 개발자에 대한 지원과 표준기반 TV 앱 생태계의 활성화를 위한, 스마트 TV 플랫폼 표준 앱 개발도구 확장기능의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 소개한다.

A Study on Correlation among Viewers by Medium based on KBS PIE-TV Index

  • In order to respond to the ever-changing media environments in the era of smart and mobile technology, KBS has introduced and partially applied PIE-TV and PIE-nonTV modes that monitor the average number of viewers among the national population group by means of the sample household extraction method which is a traditional way of rating investigation. This study analyzes the correlation between the number of viewers of premiere, re-air broadcasting, and MPP channel programs and the number of OTT-based VOD viewers in reference to the data extracted from PIE-TV survey results. KBS conducted a survey for 3 months between June and August 2017 to measure the PIE-TV Index, based on which the above-mentioned correlation was analyzed with programs classified to entertainment, drama, and cultural programs. For data analysis, SPSS (Ver. 18.0 for Window, SPSS Inc, Chicago, IL, USA) was utilized. It was assumed that when p<0.05 in the confidence interval of 95%, statistically significance would be secured. Among the 30 subjects in the simple correlation analysis, the parameter was determined by the Person correlation coefficient and the non-parameter by the Spearman correlation coefficient. Analysis results are as below: (1) As the number of viewers of premier entertainment, drama, and cultural programs was larger, the number of VOD viewers was larger accordingly. (2) As for entertainment and drama programs, as the number of re-air broadcasting viewers was larger, the number of VOD viewers decreased accordingly. (2) As for entertainment and drama programs, as the number of MPP viewers was larger, the number of VOD viewers decreased accordingly. It is expected that this statistical data can be utilized for strategic planning of MPP channel lineups including terrestrial TV broadcasting, cable TV, etc.

470-MHz-698-MHz IEEE 802.15.4m Compliant RF CMOS Transceiver

  • This paper proposes an IEEE 802.15.4m compliant TV white-space orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (TVWS)-(OFDM) radio frequency (RF) transceiver that can be adopted in advanced metering infrastructures, universal remote controllers, smart factories, consumer electronics, and other areas. The proposed TVWS-OFDM RF transceiver consists of a receiver, a transmitter, a 25% duty-cycle local oscillator generator, and a delta-sigma fractional-N phase-locked loop. In the TV band from 470 MHz to 698 MHz, the highly linear RF transmitter protects the occupied TV signals, and the high-Q filtering RF receiver is tolerable to in-band interferers as strong as -20 dBm at a 3-MHz offset. The proposed TVWS-OFDM RF transceiver is fabricated using a $0.13-{\mu}m$ CMOS process, and consumes 47 mA in the Tx mode and 35 mA in the Rx mode. The fabricated chip shows a Tx average power of 0 dBm with an error-vector-magnitude of < 3%, and a sensitivity level of -103 dBm with a packet-error-rate of < 3%. Using the implemented TVWS-OFDM modules, a public demonstration of electricity metering was successfully carried out.

  • 본 논문은 2016 년 6 월 TTA 개정 표준 "HTML5 기반 스마트 TV 플랫폼(TTAK.KO-07.0111/R2)"에서 스마트폰, 태블릿 등 컴패니언 디바이스를 통해 스마트 TV 에 설치된 서비스 애플리케이션(이하, 앱)을 원격으로 조회, 실행, 종료 등의 제어를 지원하는 표준 기술을 소개한다. 이 기술은 표준에서 이미 정의된 멀티스크린 기술을 바탕으로 컴패니언 디바이스(모바일, 테블릿 등)를 통해 스마트 TV 를 인지하고 해당 TV 의 IP 주소 정보를 인식하여 JSON-RPC 프로토콜을 이용한 함수 형식 제어 요청을 통해 정보를 전달하는 방식으로 스마트 TV 수신기는 앱 정보 제공, 특정 앱 실행, 앱 종료 등 다양한 원격 앱 제어 기능을 서비스한다. 또한, 해당 원격 앱 제어 기술을 PC 기반의 가상환경인 스마트 TV 2.0 에뮬레이터 구현으로 표준기술에 유효성 검증과 서비스 응용 사례를 설명한다.

Should forward approval ratings, real-time Twitter subtitles on the TV screen in TV debate Twitter influence in the election will be greatly expanded.

  • WebGL is a cross-platform web standard for a low-level 3D graphics API based on OpenGL ES 2.0 and presents 3D graphics in web browsers without installing extra plug-ins. The reason that WebGL is notable is because it is included in the HTML5 standard which is getting the spotlight as a next-generation RIA(Rich Internet Application) platform for variable devices such as PCs, smart phones, table PCs, and smart TVs. In this research, we would like to introduce and develop a behavior engine for easy and rapid authoring of complicated interactions and 3D object's behavior models in WebGL-based contents.
