Experimental Study of Adaptive Sliding Mode Control for Vibration of a Flexible Rectangular Plate

  • This paper aims to address the intelligent active vibration control problem of a flexible rectangular plate vibration involving parameter variation and external disturbance. An adaptive sliding mode (ASM) MIMO control strategy and smart piezoelectric materials are proposed as a solution, where the controller design can deal with problems of an external disturbance and parametric uncertainty in system. Compared with the current 'classical' control design, the proposed ASM MIMO control strategy design has two advantages. First, unlike existing classical control algorithms, where only low intelligence of the vibration control system is achieved, this paper shows that high intelligent of the vibration control system can be realized by the ASM MIMO control strategy and smart piezoelectric materials. Second, the system performance is improved due to two additional terms obtained in the active vibration control system. Detailed design principle and rigorous stability analysis are provided. Finally, experiments and simulations were used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy using a hardware prototype based on NI instruments, a MATLAB/SIMULINK platform, and smart piezoelectric materials.

  • Purposes: This study was to validate the Robotic Smart Work System that can provides better working conditions and high productivity in unstructured environments like bio-industry, based on a tele-operation system for fruit harvesting with low cost 3-D positioning system on the laboratory level. Methods: For the Robotic Smart Work System for fruit harvesting and cultivation management in agriculture, a vision based tele-operating system and 3-D position information are key elements. This study proposed Robotic Smart Farming, an agricultural version of Robotic Smart Work System, and validated a 3-D position information system with a low cost omni camera and a laser marker system in the lab environment in order to get a vision based tele-operating system and 3-D position information. Results: The tasks like harvesting of the fixed target and cultivation management were accomplished even if there was a short time delay (30 ms ~ 100 ms). Although automatic conveyor works requiring accurate timing and positioning yield high productivity, the tele-operation with user's intuition will be more efficient in unstructured environments which require target selection and judgment. Conclusions: This system increased work efficiency and stability by considering ancillary intelligence as well as user's experience and knowhow. In addition, senior and female workers will operate the system easily because it can reduce labor and minimized user fatigue.

Intelligent Rain Sensing and Fuzzy Wiper Control Algorithm for Vision-based Smart Windshield Wiper System

  • A windshield wiper system plays a key part in assuring the driver's safety during the rainfall. However, because the quantity of rain and snow vary irregularly according to time and the velocity of the automobile, a driver changes wiper speed and interval from time to time to secure enough visual field in the traditional windshield wiper system. Because a manual operation of windshield wiper distracts driver's sensitivity and causes inadvertent driving, this is becoming a direct cause of traffic accidents. Therefore, this paper presents the basic architecture of a vision-based smart windshield wiper system and a rain sensing algorithm that regulates speed and interval of the windshield wiper automatically according to the quantity of rain or snow. This paper also introduces a fuzzy wiper control algorithm based on human's expertise, and evaluates the performance of the suggested algorithm in an experimental simulator.

  • The trend toward ubiquitous computing does not represent simply a change in the way people access and use information. In the end it will have a profound effect on the way people work with each other. In this paper, we have defined functionalities of an information system that helps operate a kind of smart office environment, and implemented the system using RFID technology. The system provides three major functions-time and attendance management, personalized message notification, and flexible seat allocation for a smart working center. We have also suggested the key performance indicators and performed a KPI analysis to measure an efficiency of implemented system.

  • 최근 유비쿼터스 시대에 진입하면서 PDA,PMP, Smart Phone 등의 휴대형 정보기기의 보급으로 임베디드 시스템의 기능이 다양해지고 멀티미디어 기능이 강화됨에 따라 시스템이 처리해야할 정보의 양도 늘어나고 있다. 이에 따라 시스템은 대용량의 전력 공급이 필요하게 되었다. 그러므로 Battery라는 제한적인 에너지원을 사용하는 휴대형기기에서 전력 관리는 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 미아방지용 스마트 디바이스에 최적화된 젼력 관리 솔루션을 제공하는데에 초점을 맞추었다. CPU는 ARM9 Core를 사용하고 Windows CE 5.0을 Porting 하였다.

  • 디지털 콘텐츠의 급속한 보급과 더불어 휴대용 단말기를 이용한 eBook 관련 콘텐츠의 개발이 점증하고 있는 추세에 유통 다변화를 통한 보급 확대를 위해 스마트 TV를 통한 VOD 방송콘텐츠와 연동하여 전자책을 사용자에게 즉시로 제공할 수 있는 시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 스마트 TV 방송콘텐츠를 기반으로 한 eBook 콘텐츠의 VOD 서비스를 하이브리드형으로 휴대 스마트 기기에 제공하기 위한 효과적인 시스템의 구성과 DRM 전략을 위한 프레임워크를 제시하고 프로토타입 시스템을 제안한다.

Design and Implementation of HL 7-based Real-time Data Communication for Mobile Clinical Information System

  • The main obstacles for adopting a mobile health information system to existing hospital information system are the redundancy of clinical data and the additional workload for implementing the new system. To obtain a seamless communication and to reduce the workload of implementation, an easy and simple implementation strategy is required. We propose a mobile clinical information system (MobileMed) which is specially designed for the easy implementation. The key elements of MobileMed are a smart interface, an HL7 message server, a central clinical database (CCDB), and a web server. The smart interface module transfers the key information to the HL7 message server as new clinical tests data is recorded in the existing laboratory information system. The HL7 message server generates the HL7 messages and sends them to the CCDS. As a central database the CCDS collects the HL7 messages and presents them to the various mobile devices such as PDA. Through this study we might conclude that the architecture for the mobile system will be efficient for real-time data communication, and the specially designed interface will be an easy tool for implementing the mobile clinical information system.

감정 키를 활용한 비대면 미술감상 시스템 연구 (A study on non-face-to-face art appreciation system using emotion key)

  • 본 연구는 비대면 수업에서 미술품의 해설을 듣고 수업의 결과로 학습자의 감정을 확인하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 제안한 시스템은 AI 서버를 통해 미술품의 해설을 듣고 학습자의 감정을 전용 키로 입력하고 그 결과를 음악으로 표현하게 된다. 이를 위해 감정 키를 활용한 비대면 미술감상 수업 모형의 방향을 설정하였고, 이를 바탕으로 비대면 미술감상을 위한 시스템을 구성하였다. 학습자는 미술품의 해설을 듣고 제시되는 질의에 대한 감정을 입력하기 위해 본 연구에서 제안한 '감정 키를 활용한 스마트 기기'를 사용하게 된다. 제안한 시스템을 통해 온라인 미술수업에서 학습자는 감정 상태를 표현할 수 있게 되고 교수자는 수업 참여결과를 전달받아 교육적 분석을 위해 다양하게 활용하게 된다.

  • 많은 기업과 단체들은 원격 접근을 위해 스마트카드 기반 사용자 인증을 사용한다. 그 동안 다양한 연구를 통하여 사용자와 서버 간의 연결을 보호하기 위해 분산된 다중 서버 환경에 대한 동적 ID 기반 원격 사용자 인증 프로토콜들이 제안되었다. 그 중, Qiu 등은 상호 인증 및 키 동의, 사용자 익명성, 다양한 종류의 공격에 대한 저항을 제공하는 효율적인 스마트카드 기반 원격 사용자 인증 프로토콜을 제안하였다. 이후, Andola 등은 Qiu 등이 제안된 인증 프로토콜에 대한 다양한 취약점을 찾아내었고, 그들의 인증 프로토콜에 대한 결점을 극복하고 사용자가 서버에 로그인하기를 원할 때마다 로그인하기 전에 사용자ID가 동적으로 변경되는 향상된 인증 프로토콜을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 Andola 등이 제안한 프로토콜의 동작 과정 및 취약점을 분석하여, Andola 등이 제안한 프로토콜이 offline smart card attack, dos attack, lack of perfect forward secrecy, session key attack에 취약하다는 것을 밝혔다.

석탄발전산업을 위한 지능형 CCTV 기반 스마트안전관리시스템 개발 연구 (Development of a CCTV Based Smart Safety Management System in Thermal Power Plants)

  • There has been a steady rate of accident in Coal Thermal Power Plants which have relatively higher chance of mortality. However, neither the systematic view of safety management nor the methodology such as safety factors or system requirements are yet to be studied in detail. Therefore, this study aims to propose a methodology to preemptively deal with safety issues and to secure fact focused responsibility in safety. It consists of two main parts. First, the Safety Measurement Index(SMI) with total 50 factors is proposed by analyzing the key factors that contribute to safety accidents based on failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and quality function deployment (QFD). To analyze the safety requirements, index presented by major countries and organizations are discussed. Second, main features of intelligent CCTV are studied to determine their relative importance for the framework of Smart Safety Management System (SSMS). Main features are discussed with four technological steps. Also, QFD was held to analyze to analyze how key technologies deal with Quality Measurement Index(QMI). The research results of this study reveal that scientific approaches could be utilized in integrating CCTV technologies into a smart safety management system in the era of Industry 4.0. Moreover, this reasearch provides an specific approach or methodology for dealing with safety management in Coal Thermal Power Plant.
