Development of Analog Gauge Recognition System Using Morphological Operation and Periodic Measurement Function

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to read the hand of analog gauges to prepare for the smart factory. In addition, we suggest a new and improved method that can apply, in general, diverse analog gauges even if their scale types and ranges are various. Many companies are making great efforts to build smart factories that increase energy efficiency and automation. Managers use a variety of equipment and tools to manage the production process at the factory. In this kind of factory, analog gauges have been often used with many equipment and tools. Analog gauges are mostly circular in shape, and most papers use circular hough transform to find the center and radius of a circle. However, when the object to be found is not of the correct circle type, it takes a long time to recognize the circle using the circular hough transform, and the center and radius of the circle can not be calculated accurately. The proposed method was tested on various circular analog gauges. As a result, we confirmed that our method is outstanding.

An inertia-type hybrid mount combining a rubber mount and a piezostack actuator for naval shipboard equipment

  • This paper has been focused on developing a new hybrid mount for shipboard equipment used in naval surface ships and submarines. While the hybrid mount studied in our previous research was 100 kg-class series-type mount, the new hybrid mount has been designed as an inertia-type mount capable of supporting a static of 500 kg. The proposed mount consists of a commercial rubber resilient mount, a piezostack actuator and an inertial mass. The piezostack actuator connected with the inertial mass generates actively the control force. The performances of the proposed mount with a newly designed specific controller have been evaluated in accordance with US military specifications and compared with the passive mount. An isolation system consisting of four proposed mounts and auxiliary devices has been also tested. Through a series of experimental tests, it has been confirmed that the proposed mount provides better performance than the US Navy's standard passive mounts.

  • 본 논문에서는 카메라 및 다양한 센서가 복합되어 고속의 데이터를 다중으로 처리하는 성능을 요구하는 전자광학장비의 안정적인 데이터 전송을 위해 Event 기반의 동기화 방식을 통한 Multi-Thread 환경의 다중 통신 미들웨어 설계 및 구현 방법을 제안하였다. 구현된 통신 미들웨어의 성능 검증을 위해 영상 데이터 및 센서 데이터를 전송하여 송신 주기 대비 수신 주기에 대한 차이를 비교하고, 다중으로 전송 및 처리할 수 있는 최대 통신 가능 수를 측정 및 분석하였다. 또한 전송되는 데이터의 무결성 검증과 Round Trip Time 측정 등의 실험을 통해 제안하는 통신 미들웨어의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • With the recent expansion of electric kickboards and bicycle sharing services, more and more people use them. In addition, the rapid growth of the delivery business due to the COVID-19 has significantly increased the use of two-wheeled vehicles and personal mobility. As the accident rate increases, the rule related to the two-wheeled vehicles is changed to 'mandatory helmets for kickboards and single-person transportation' and was revised to prevent boarding itself without driver's license. In this paper, we propose a wearable smart safety equipment, called SafetyHelmet, that can keep helmet-wearing duty and lower the accident rate with the communication between helmets and mobile devices. To make this function available, we propose a safe driving assistance function by notifying the driver when an object that interferes with driving such as persons or other vehicles are detected by applying the YOLO v5 object detection algorithm. Therefore it is intended to provide a safer driving assistance by reducing the failure rate to identify dangers while driving single-person transportation.

Determination of electrical and geometric properties of brown eggs

  • Eggs are considered an excellent complete food because they contain many major energy sources, including protein. Eggs are one of the most widely consumed foods worldwide, and egg consumption is steadily increasing. Eggs are generally classified according to their quality and weight. Various characteristics of eggs must be considered for the design and effective utilization of equipment used for the transport, processing, packaging, and storage of eggs. In this study, egg surface area, volume, density, etc. were measured according to the grade of the egg. The values of several geometrical properties that were measured tended to increase with increasing egg grade. The smallest grade eggs had the lowest shell thickness and density. The electrical conductivity of the eggshell and its contents was measured with a self-made electrode and equipment. The egg shell showed properties similar to insulators, and as the thickness increased, the electrical conductivity tended to increase. The electrical conductivity of the egg yolk showed almost constant values under all conditions. The electrical conductivity of the egg white and mixture was particularly low at 0.1 kHz. Fouling and electrode corrosion occurred in a low frequency region due to the egg white. In this study, various geometric and electrical characteristics of eggs were measured, and based on this, factors that could serve as new indicators for egg processed production were analyzed and investigated.

  • This study is normal orientation technology of slit coating equipment to improve the quality of curved displays. Currently, the demand for curved displays is increasing significantly due to advantages such as screen immersion or design in various industries. Accordingly, changes in the display coating process are essential. In the curved display coating process, unlike the existing flat coating process, the nozzle must be rotated along the curvature of the curved surface to spray the coating solution. The coating solution must be applied while maintaining a uniform thickness. If the thickness of the coating liquid applied to the target surface is non-uniform, the quality of the product may be degraded such as image quality deterioration and light spreading. This paper presents technology and experimental results for keeping the nozzle of slit coating equipment perpendicular to the curved surface and is expected to contribute to the quality improvement of curved displays.

텍스트 마이닝을 통한 건설기계분야 국내 정부 R&D 연구동향 분석 (Text-Mining Analysis of Korea Government R&D Trends in Construction Machinery Domains)

  • To investigate the national science and technology policy direction in the field of construction machinery, an analysis was conducted on projects selected as national research and development (R&D) initiatives by the government. Assuming that the project titles contain key keywords, text mining was employed to substantiate this assumption. Project information data spanning nine years from 2014 to 2022 was collected through the National Science & Technology Information Service (NTIS). To observe changes over time, the years were divided into three-year sections. To analyze research trends efficiently, keywords were categorized into groups: 'equipment,' 'smart,' and 'eco-friendly.' Based on the collected data, keyword frequency analysis, N-gram analysis, and topic modeling were performed. The research findings indicate that domestic government R&D in the construction machinery field primarily focuses on smart-related research and development. Specifically, investments in monitoring systems and autonomous operation technologies are increasing. This study holds significance in analyzing objective research trends through the utilization of big data analysis techniques and is expected to contribute to future research and development planning, strategic formulation, and project management.

소규모 민간 건축물을 위한 최적의 붕괴 위험 감지 모니터링 시스템 설치 방안 연구 (A Study on the Installation of the Optimized Collapse Risk Detection Monitoring System for Small-Scale Private Buildings)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 재난 안전 사각지대에 있는 소규모의 민간 건축물을 대상으로 건축물의 위험징후를 분석하고 계측기술을 개발하기 위한 건축물 모니터링 시스템 설치 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 건축물 위험거동의 원인, 모니터링 계측 기기의 구성요소, 계측기기 설치 위치, 관리 방안 등을 제시한다. 연구결과: 계측기기는 필수적으로 가속도센서, 기울기센서, 자이로센서, GPS 등이 포함된다. 계측장치는 기둥의 높이와 단면적을 고려해야 한다. 결론: 본 연구의 결과는 소규모 민간 건축물에서 발생할 수 있는 건축물 붕괴로부터 발생하는 재난을 대비하여 재난 안전 역량 강화를 할 수 있다.

  • Demand for cosmetics with functionality and eco-friendliness has increased dramatically due to recent aging, well-being trends, and increased interest in beauty. Cosmetics production in 2014 was 8,970.4 billion won, an increase of about 50% compared to 6,014.6 billion won in 2010. In the midst of this, similar companies in intense competition are pursuing differentiated strategies and innovation activities to solve quality, price and delivery problems. In particular, cosmetics packaging work is getting more difficult due to the increasing bill of materials (BOM) and difficult assembly methods. Therefore, in this study, the following problems were identified and suggestions for the improvement of the packaging Many research laboratories such as biotechnology, chemistry, and pharmaceuticals, which are undergoing various studies, are equipped with ready-made laboratory safety equipments such as bio-safety workbenches, aseptic bases, and exhaust workbenches. However, most researchers are disadvantaged in using existing safety equipment. This is because existing safety equipment can not take into account all of the unique characteristics of the research. For this reason, researchers are demanding the development of customized safety equipment that is well suited to their research needs. process of Company C, which is facing difficult situation to respond to the customer 's delivery due to the 52 - hour work week. First, we used the stopwatch to find the difficulty process in the packaging process and show ways to improve it. Second, to improve the efficiency of line balancing in the packaging process, we integrate processes, improve work methods, and perform simple automation. As a result, the prepare loss for replacement was reduced by 1 minute from 5 minutes, resulting in a 23% increase in productivity from 112 ea./hour to 137ea./ hour per person. At this time, the LOB of the packaging process was improved from 70% to 82% by operating one more production line through one person per line, total 9 people saving.

비콘 서비스를 사용한 보행자 안전 신호감지시스템의 설계 (Signal Sensing System Design for Pedestrian Safety using Beacon Service)

  • 오늘날 IT산업의 눈부신 발전으로 개인 스마트폰을 1개 이상을 소유하고 보유 비율이 급격히 증가하고 있다. 이 때문에 최근 스마트폰으로 인한 보행자 사고가 잇따라 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 근거리 통신 기술인 블루투스 4.0 BLE 기반의 비콘을 이용하여 서버와의 통신이 필요한 감지방법과 신호등의 전류를 이용하는 감지방법 등 두 가지 개발 방법을 통해 신호등 시스템의 통신 상황에 따라 서버와의 통신이 불가능할 때 홀센서를 이용한 감지를 수행하고 그렇지 않을 때는 조도센서를 활용하여 신호감지시스템을 구현하고자 한다. 블루투스 신호를 이용하여 신호등의 신호정보를 파악하여 해당 스마트폰을 인지하고 스마트폰에 신호등 현황을 보행자가 접근 시 스마트폰 사용자에게 디스플레이 함으로써 보행자 사고를 줄이기 위한 방안을 제시하고 향후 개선 방향을 제안하고자 한다. 스마트폰 시대가 오기 전에는 휴대폰 사용으로 인한 보행 중 사고의 빈도가 굉장히 낮았다. 이제 우리에게 편의를 제공해주는 IT기기들로 인하여 생명의 위협을 받는 상황에 처하고 있다. 거리에서 스마트폰사용을 국가적 차원에서 차단할 수 없다면 이에 맞춰 보행자에게 간접적으로 상황을 알려주도록 하고, 사건 사고의 위험률을 줄이는 것이 본 논문의 제안 목적이다.
