A Raster Image Scaling Method focused on Calligraphy (캘리그라피에 특화된 래스터 이미지 확대 방법)

  • Recently, calligraphy has become popular because people focused on emotion. The strokes, dots, swoops, cracks and shading are the calligraphy factors for expressing various emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, and delight. However, the emotion which is expressed by cracks and shading can be destroyed in the digital work when the calligraphy is used for a variety sizes of prints. Professionals work with high-resolution images which are obtained through the scanner, however normal users should work with low-resolution images taken with the smart phone for calligraphy image editing. We propose a raster image scaling method focused on calligraphy that maintains the emotion with cracks and shading, when normal users use the low-resolution calligraphy images in the digital work. The method recolors aliasing boundary of enlarged rasterized image. When recolored by our method, our method decreases aliasing by using the image gradient method, vivify calligraphy images, and maintains the emotion in cracks and shading by using the alpha value.

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트 미러 사용자의 얼굴 인식, 표정 인식, 얼굴형 인식을 활용하여 감정에 적절한 멘트와 화장법을 제공하는 시스템의 개발 내용에 관해 기술한다. 이 시스템을 사용함으로써 사람들은 자신의 감정을 정확하게 인지할 뿐만 아니라 위로와 공감을 받을 수 있으며, 자신의 스타일에 적절한 화장법을 추천받을 수 있다. 스마트 미러를 통해, 사용자는 자기 이해도가 늘어나게 되어 스스로에게 더욱 집중할 수 있고 화장법을 찾는 시간이나 화장에 실패할 가능성이 줄어들어 시간과 비용을 절약할 수 있게 될 것이다.

  • In this paper, we propose the smart management technique of applications using fuzzy logic in wireless sensor networks. We consider the intelligent action compared to the classical action that can only be controlled by on and off. The vagueness depends on the places of the sensor nodes, human's character and emotion. In order to control them with the smartness, the proposed technique considers the better performance of applications in wireless sensor networks. We performed the simulations and implementations on sensor nodes and checked out our ideas. The simulation results show that the proposed technique is more reasonable than the classical approach.

  • The era of the fourth industrial revolution, which will bring about a great wave of change in the 21st century, is the age of super-connection that links humans to humans, objects to objects, and humans to objects. In the smart city and the smart space which are evolving further, emotional engineering is a field of interdisciplinary researches that still attract attention with the development of technology. This paper proposes an emotional object prototype as a possibility of emotional interaction in the relation between human and object. By suggesting emotional objects that produce color changes and movements through the emotional interactions between humans and objects against the current social issue-loneliness of modern people, we have approached the influence of our lives in the relation with objects. It is expected that emotional objects that are approached from the fundamental view will be able to be in our lives as a viable cultural intermediary in our future living space.

  • In this study, we implemented the emotional light controlling system by using the wheel interface built in the smart-watch devices. Most previous light controlling systems have been adopted the direct switches or smart-phone applications for presenting individual emotion in lighting systems. However, in order to control color properties, these studies have some complicated user-interfaces in systems and limitation to present various color spectrums. Therefore, we need to user-friendly interfaces and functions for controlling properties of the lightning systems such as color, tone, color temperature, brightness, and saturation in detail with the wheel interface built in the smart-watch devices. The system proposed in the study is given to choose the user's selecting the emotional status information for providing the emotional lights. The selectable emotional status such as "stable", "surprise", "tired", "angry", etc. can be among 11 kinds of emotional states. In addition, the designed system processed the user's information such as user's emotional status information, local time, location information.

  • This study conducted an actual analysis on the effects of smart phone experience marketing by brand on consumption value and purchase intention for Chinese consumers who are interested in smart phone purchase experience or products. In addition, experience marketing was classified into five components such as sense, emotion, cognition, behavior, and relationship. The results, In the effect of the components of experiential marketing on purchase intention, sense, act, fell, and relate had an obviously positive impact on purchase intention, however The result is that think does not affect. The results of this study are more effective when considering the five components of smart phone experience marketing. This The study will contribute to the projecting and establishment of long-term experience marketing of smart phone producers by continuously providing experiences related to the direction of pursuing brand image.

Usability Evaluation and Development of Design Prototyping for MP3 Smart Clothing Product (MP3 스마트웨어 제품 상용화를 위한 디자인 프로토타입 개발 및 사용성 평가 연구)

  • This study focused on developing MP3 smart clothing products and usability evaluation. MP3 smart clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. The kit consists of MP3 Player, remote controller module and ear phone, and are easy to assemble and dismantle. And usability evaluation about MP3 smart Clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. For making the MP3 Smart clothing, e-textile signal line and keypad was developed and a metal connection ring also was manufactured to adhere closely e-textile signal line to keypad. The last products are two kinds of MP3 smart clothing, jacket style of MP3-YSJ(Yonsei Smart Jacket) and safari style of MP3-YSS(Yonsei Smart Safari). Then usability evaluation conducted two times about MP3 smart clothing developed. Usability evaluation is classified by a module evaluation and an item evaluation. The module evaluation measured external appearance, material, a music controller, an ear phone(or a mini speaker) and connector. The item evaluation measured social acceptance, feeling of wearing, utility, easiness of maintenance and safety. The module evaluation described totally positive results in the first usability evaluation about MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The item evaluation shows a lower score in the social acceptance, especially the easiness of connector maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The second usability evaluation conducted with improved products by the first usability test results. Results from second item evaluation indicated needs to improve the easiness of connector & music-controller maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 2.0. In MP3-YSS 2.0, the easiness of material management and the social acceptance of music controller & connector needed to improvement. In particular, users felt inconvenience in the social acceptance because of e-textile keypad arrangement. To outweigh this disadvantage, further study is needed about keypad interface of the music controller.

  • The rapid spread of smart devices initiated by the launch of iPhone and the development of state-of-the-art communication technology have opened up a new chapter for today's age, accelerating a paradigm shift. It is defined as 'the smart era' that is characterized by a DNA of mobile. The meaning of the term 'smart' depends on in which field it is used and who uses it, but the term is basically based on 'human being,' namely people. Accordingly, people should take the initiative in this smart era, and what only people can do will become more important for that reason. In addition, there will be a drastic progress in today's technology, which is expected to make human life more convenient and to even make it possible to read human sentiment and emotion. Such social changes have affected education as well, and the education sector is making preparations for the introduction of 'smart education,' as there is a consensus that an absolutely new paradigm shift is mandatory. Smart education is not merely to introduce smart devices, ICT technology and SNS in education. New competent people are required in globalization age, and smart education is to attempt a new education to nurture new competent people. In this study, 4C (that were creativity, collaboration, contents and curation) were suggested as the key factors of smart education, and in which direction smart education should be led in our country was discussed.

Pupil Data Measurement and Social Emotion Inference Technology by using Smart Glasses (스마트 글래스를 활용한 동공 데이터 수집과 사회감성 추정 기술)

  • 본 연구에서는 적외선 카메라 기반의 비접촉식 측정 방법을 이용하여 동공 반응 데이터를 수집하여 공감의 사회감성을 객관적이고 정량적으로 추정하는데 그 목적이 있다. 실험에는 10명(남 6명, 여 4명, M ± SD = 24.17 ± 2.16세)의 피험자가 참여하였다. 30초의 참조 데이터 측정 후, 공감 유무에 따라 과제는 얼굴 표정 모방 과제와 얼굴 표정 자발적 표현 과제로 구분되어 두 사람은 표정으로 상호작용하였고, 2번씩 반복 진행하며 적외선 카메라를 통해 동공을 촬영하였다. 이진화 및 원형 윤곽선 검출법의 영상처리를 활용하여 동공 데이터를 수집하였고, 이동 평균 기법을 활용해 눈깜빡임 노이즈를 제거하고 동공 크기 개인차로 데이터 표준화를 진행하였다. 공감 유무에 따른 동공 크기 데이터는 정규성 검증 및 독립표본 t검정을 통해 통계적 유의성을 확인하였다. 분석결과, 공감하는 경우(M ± SD = 0.508 ± 1.278)와 공감하지 않은 경우(M ± SD = 1.681 ± 0.968) 동공 크기가 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다(t(18) = -2.313, p = 0.033). 판별분석을 통해 동공 크기에 따른 공감의 유무를 추정하는 규칙을 정의하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 동공 크기 데이터를 이용한 공감의 사회감성 추정 기술은 비접촉식 카메라 기반의 기술로 스마트 글래스와 접목되어 다양한 분야에 활용도가 높을 것으로 기대된다.

The effects of pixel density, sub-pixel structure, luminance, and illumination on legibility of smartphone (화소 밀집도, 화소 하부구조, 휘도, 조명 조도가 스마트폰 가독성에 미치는 영향)

  • Since the domestic introduction of iPhone in 2009, use of smartphones rapidly increased and many tasks, previously performed by various devices, are now performed by smartphones. In this process the importance of reading little text using small smartphone screen has become highly significant. This research tested how display factors of smartphone (pixel density, sub-pixel structure, luminance) and environmental factor (illumination) affect legibility related discomfort in text reading. The results indicated that legibility related discomfort is largely affected by pixel density, where people experience inconvenience when the pixel density becomes lower than 300 PPI. Illumination has limited effect on legibility related discomfort. Participants reported more legibility related discomfort when stimulus presented in various levels of illumination rather than single illumination level. Sub-pixel structure and luminance did not affected legibility related discomfort. Based on the results we suggest lower limit resolution of smart devices (smartphones, tablet computers) of different sizes for text legibility.
