  • As the number of people with chronic diseases increases due to an aging society, it is urgent to prevent and manage their diseases. Although biometric authentication methods and Telemedicine Systems have been introduced to solve these problems, it is difficult to solve the security problem of medical information and personal authentication. Since smart healthcare includes personal medical information of subjects, the security of personal information is the most important field. Therefore, in this paper, we tried to propose a Telemedicine System using a smart wearable device ECG in the form of a wristband and face personal authentication in a private blockchain environment. This system targets various medical personnel and patients with chronic diseases in all regions, and uses a private blockchain that can increase data integrity and transparency, ECG and face authentication that are difficult to forge and alter and have high personal identification to provide a system with high security and reliability. composed. Through this, it is intended to contribute to increasing the efficiency of chronic disease management by focusing on disease prevention and health management for patients with chronic diseases at home.

  • Agriculture has the longest history in many industries and is directly or indirectly linked to human development. However, recently agriculture in Korea has difficulties in farm management due to the decrease of rural population, aging of society, increase of material costs, and climate change on the Korean peninsula. Smart farms using ICT are proposed as an alternative to solve these problems. Smart farms manage the temperature and water supply facilities of farms through various sensors, but there is a limit to the delicate management of crops. Therefore, in this paper, unlike the conventional moisture sensor, the water supply is varied according to the depth of the soil, thereby realizing an optimized environment for plant growth.

  • Research on smart farms centering on greenhouse cultivation is actively under way due to the decrease in agriculture population and aging, but in the case of vegetables such as vegetables, outdoor cultivation is 70%. Therefore, there is a need to improve productivity and prevent soil contamination by automating, cultivating, and intelligentizing the outdoor cultivation of agriculture crops. In this paper, we show the case of establishing a outdoor production system using the Internet of things and define the environmental variables in the outdoor production system. By measuring soil temperature, water content, electrical conductivity and acidity through sensors, LoRa communication module transmits the information to the outdoor production system. The outdoor production system controls the amount of fertilizer and the volume of water based on this sensor data. We have developed a system that manages a wide range of crops using LoRa technology, which is a suitable communication method for cultivating crops, and manages production volume and sales performance.

  • Social infrastructure facilities that have been under construction since the country's high-growth period are undergoing rapid aging, and, thus, safety assessments of large structures such as bridge tunnels, which can be directly linked to large-scale casualties in the event of an accident, are necessary. It is difficult to construct economical and efficient wireless smart sensor networks that improve structural health monitoring (SHM) because the existing wire sensors have a short signal reach. However, low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs) are becoming popular within the Internet of Things, and enable economical and efficient SHM. In this study, the technology trends of a wireless measuring sensor based on LoRa LPWANs were investigated, and an installation and maintenance plan for this type of sensor is proposed.

  • Railway point machines act as actuators that provide different routes to trains by driving switchblades from the current position to the opposite one. Since point failure caused by the aging effect can significantly affect railway operations with potentially disastrous consequences, replacement detection of point machine at an appropriate time is critical. In this paper, we propose a replacement condition detection method of point machine in railway condition monitoring systems using electrical current signals, after analyzing and relabeling domestic in-field replacement data by means of OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) operations in the multidimensional data cube into "does-not-need-to-be replaced" and "needs-to-be-replaced" data. The system enables extracting suitable feature vectors from the incoming electrical current signals by DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform) with reduced feature dimensions using PCA(Principal Components Analysis), and employs SVM(Support Vector Machine) for the real-time replacement detection of point machine. Experimental results with in-field replacement data including points anomalies show that the system could detect the replacement conditions of railway point machines with accuracy exceeding 98%.

Wireless smart sensor networks that improve SHM(Structural Health Monitoring) based on existing wire sensors are difficult to construct economical and efficient system due to short signal reach. The LPWAN, Low Power Wide Area Network, is becoming popular with the Internet of Things and it is possible to construct economical and efficient SHM by applying it to structural health monitoring. This study examines the applicability of LoRa LPWAN to structural health monitoring and proposes a channel usage pre-planning based LoRa network operation method that can efficiently utilize bandwidth while resolving conflicts between channels caused by using license - exempt communication band.

  • The Ministry of National Defense aims to create an environment in which transparent and reasonable defense policies can be implemented in real time by establishing the vision of smart defense innovation based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and promoting innovation in technology-based defense operation systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) based defense technology is at the level of basic research worldwide, includes no domestic tasks, and involves classified military operation data and command control/decision information. Further, it is needed to secure independent technologies specialized for our military. In the army, military power continues to decline due to aging and declining population. In addition, it is expected that there will be more than 500,000 units should be managed simultaneously, to recognize the battle situation in real time on the future battlefields. Such a complex battlefield, command decisions will be limited by the experience and expertise of individual commanders. Accordingly, the study of AI core technologies supporting real-time combat command is actively pursued at home and abroad. It is necessary to strengthen future defense capabilities by identifying potential threats that commanders are likely to miss, improving the viability of the combat system, ensuring smart commanders always win conflicts and providing reasonable AI digital staff based on data science. This paper describes the recent research trends in AI military staff technology supporting commander decision-making, broken down into five key areas.

  • With the development of digital technology, the size of the smart agriculture market at home and abroad is rapidly expanding. It is necessary to establish a foundation for sustainable precision agriculture in order to respond to the aging of rural areas and labor shortages. This study was conducted to establish an automated digital agricultural test bed for soybean production management using data suitable for agricultural environmental conditions in Korea and to demonstrate the field of leading complexes. In order to manage water smartly, we installed a subsurface drip irrigation system in the upland field and an underground water level control system in the paddy field. Based on data collected from sensors, water management was controlled by utilizing an integrated control system. Irrigation was carried out when the soil moisture was less than 20%. For effective water management, soil moisture was measured at the surface, 15cm, and 30cm depth. The main growth characteristics and yield, such as stem length, number of branches, and number of nodes of the main stem, were investigated during the main growth period. During the operation of the test bed, drought appeared during the early vegetative growth period and maturity period, but in the open field smart agriculture test bed, water was automatically supplied, reducing labor by 53% and increasing yield by 2%. A test bed was installed for each field digital farming element technology, and it is planned to verify it once more this year. In the future, we plan to expand the field digital farming technology developed for leading farmers to the field.
