In this study, a rehabilitation 3D printed wearable device was developed by combining an assembly-type robot hand and an integral-type robot hand through fused deposition 3D printing manufacturing with various hardness TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) filaments. The hardware configuration of the robot hand includes a controller designed with four motors, one small servo motor, and a circuit board. In the case of the assembly-type robot hand model, a 3D printed robot hand was assembled using samples printed with TPU of hardness 87A and 95A. It was observed that TPU with a hardness of 95A was suitable for use due to shape stability. For the integrated-type robot hand model, the external sample using TPU of hardness 95A could be modified through a cutting method, and the hardware configuration is the same as the assembly-type. The system structure of the 3D printed robot hand was improved from an individual control method to a simultaneous transmission method.Furthermore, the system architecture of an integrated 3D printed robotic hand rehabilitation device and the application of the rehabilitation device were developed.
This paper present a sensor based obstacle avoidance method which is based on a VFH(Vector Field Histogram) method. The basic idea of obstacle avoidance is to find a minimum obstacle direction and distance. From the minimum sonar index and the target direction high level system determine steering angle of mobile robot. The sonar sensor system consists of 12 ultra sonic sensor, and each sensor have its direction and safety value. This method has advantage on calculation speed and small memory. This method is implemented on indoor autonomous vehicle'ALiVE-2'.
In this paper, robust vibration control of a one-link flexible robot arm based on variable structure system is discussed. We derive dynamic equations of it using a Lagragian assumed modes method based on Bernoulli-Euler beam theory. The optimal sliding surface is designed and the problem of chattering is also solved by the adoptation of a continuous control law within a small neighborhood of the switching hyperplane.
The mobile robot, named as KAEROT, is designed to go up and down stairs in nuclear facilities. To get a proper stable motion, kinematic modeling and analysis are seriously considered and new climbing algorithm is proposed focused on the stability. A couple of small wheels of one planetary wheel have to contact the surface ol stairs all the time to give the guarantee for stability and safety. To confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm, simulation is carried out. The results make evident of feasibility for the algorithm.

A swarm robot system consists of with multiple mobile robots, each of which is called an agent. Each agent interacts with others and cooperates for a given task and a given environment. For the swarm robotic system, the loss of the entire work capability by malfunction or damage to a single robot is relatively small and replacement and repair of the robot is less costly. So, it is suitable to perform more complex tasks. The essential component for a swarm robotic system is an inter-robot collaboration strategy for teamwork. Recently, the swarm intelligence theory is applied to robotic system domain as a new framework of collective robotic system design. In this paper, FA (Firefly Algorithm) which is based on firefly's reaction to the lights of other fireflies and their social behavior is employed to optimize the group behavior of multiple robots. The main application of the firefly algorithm is performed on path planning of swarm mobile robots and its effectiveness is verified by simulations under various conditions.

This paper describes a mapping and localization based on wave algorithm[11] and Kalman filter for effective SLAM. Each robot in a multi robot system has its own task such as building a map for its local position. By combining their data into a shared map, the robot scans actively seek to verify their relative locations. For simultaneous localization the algorithm which is well known as Kalman Filter (KF) is used. For modelling the robot position we wish to know three parameters (x, y coordinates and its orientation) which can be combined into a vector called a state variable vector. The Kalman Filter is a smart way to integrate measurement data into an estimate by recognizing that measurements are noisy and that sometimes they should ignored or have only a small effect on the state estimate. In addition to an estimate of the state variable vector, the algorithm provides an estimate of the state variable vector uncertainty i.e. how confident the estimate is, given the value for the amount of error in it.
Previous walking pattern generation methods could generate walking patterns that allow only straight walking on flat and uneven terrain. They were unable to generate modifiable walking patterns whereby the sagittal and lateral step lengths and walking direction can be changed at every footstep. This paper proposes a novel walking pattern generation method to realize modifiable walking of humanoid robots on unknown uneven terrain. The proposed method employs a walking pattern generator based on the 3-D linear inverted pendulum model (LIPM), which enables a humanoid robot to vary its walking patterns at every footstep. A control strategy for walking on unknown uneven terrain is proposed. Virtual spring-damper (VSD) models are used to compensate for the disturbances that occur between the robot and the terrain when the robot walks on uneven terrain with unknown height. In addition, methods for generating the foot and vertical center of mass (COM) of the 3-D LIPM trajectories are developed to realize stable walking on unknown uneven terrain. The proposed method is implemented on a small-sized humanoid robot platform, DARwIn-OP and its effectiveness is demonstrated experimentally.

A robot assembly method which uses configuration and force/torque information of tactile sensor system and performs chamferless peg-in-hole tasks is suggested and experimentally studied. When the robot gripes the peg with random orientation, the realignment of the peg to the hole center line is successfully performed with the gripping configuration information of the tactile sensor and the inverse kinematics of the robot. The force/torque information of the tactile sensor makes it possible to control the contacting force between mating parts during hole search stage. The suggested algorithm employs a hybrid position/force control and the experiments show that the algorithm accomplishes well peg-in-hole tasks with permissible small contacting force. The chamferless peg-in-hole tasks with smaller clearance than the robot repeatibility can be excuted without any loss or deformation of mating parts. This study the possibility of precise and chamferless parts mating by robot and tactile sensor system.
This paper shows the development of a snake robot (KAEROT-snake V) which consists of 16 1-DOF actuator modules and head module. The modules are connected serially and the joint axis of each module is rotated by $90^{\circ}$ with respect to the previous joint so that the snake robot can move in the 3D space. A tail actuator module includes slip-ring and metal connector. KAEROT-snake IV developed in prior research could move in the 3D space and climb up in a narrow pipe. But its design was not appropriate to the unstructured tough environment and its speed was somewhat slow. A new actuator module is designed to enclose all parts of the module so that any wire is not exposed. The size and weight of the new module was slightly reduced. And the rotation speed and torque of the joint was increased by about twice when compared with pre-module. An embedded controller was developed so small that it can be mounted inside the module. The performance of the developed robot was demonstrated through various locomotion experiments.

An optimal capturing trajectory for a moving object is proposed in this paper based on the observation that a single-curvature path is more accurate than double-or triple-curvature paths. Moving distance, moving time, and trajectory error are major factors considered in deciding an optimal path for capturing the moving object. That is, the moving time and distance are minimized while the trajectory error is maintained as small as possible. The three major factors are compared for the single and the double curvature trajectories to show superiority of the single curvature trajectory. Based upon the single curvature trajectory, a kinematics model of a mobile robot is proposed to follow and capture the moving object, in this paper. A capturing scenario can be summarized as follows: 1. Motion of the moving object has been captured by a CCD camera., 2. Position of the moving object has been estimated using the image frames, and 3. The mobile robot tries to follow the moving object along the single curvature trajectory which matches positions and orientations of the moving object and the mobile robot at the final moment. Effectiveness of the single curvature trajectory modeling and capturing algorithm has been proved, through simulations and real experiments using a 2-DOF wheel-based mobile robot.
