  • There is a growing concerns for startups and management issues in the small business sector. In the Korean unique condition, female-owned small business seemed to play a crucial role in stimulating domestic demands and replacements for workforce reductions in the time of reduced birth rates and export-driven economy. Despite importance of female-owned small businesses, domestic statistics about female small businesses are not well recognized and defined. To design the current entrepreneurship training programs for female entrepreneurs more female-friendly, we need to improve overall environments surrounding training systems. We can classify the environmental improvement for women-friendly entrepreneurship training into three types as follows: First, it is needed to conduct regular surveys on difficulties female entrepreneurs may have. To develop a program for women-friendly entrepreneurship training, extensive and thorough survey is required for entrepreneurship training goals. To design women-friendly entrepreneurship training for women entrepreneurs henceforth, preliminary surveys should be carried out to detect problems within the course of the program and women's expectation regarding entrepreneurship training. Second environmental improvement is to overcome the lack of information on entrepreneurship training for women. Difficulties that women entrepreneurs experience are different from their counterparts, male. Last is about overcoming the lack of follow-up management after opening a business. To surmount the issue, we need to organize a management improvement consulting systems focused on female entrepreneurs. Establishing networks connecting female businesses should be the most urgent measure. With this regard, if follow-up services for female entrepreneurs are provided for at least three years from the time a business is opened, it may produce even more desirable results.

  • In order to investigate the small female occupant behavior and accompanying injury mechanisms in vehicular trash event, a finite element model of $5^{th}$ percentile female has been developed. The model consists of articulated rigid body, which represents the morphology of small female body, and internal components with anatomical details. Articulated rigid body model serves as a basic platform for joining the detail internal skeletons and organs, while itself can be used for representing the overall kinematics of small female occupant. The modeling details such as anthropometry and finite element structure as well as validation results for the articulated rigid body model are introduced in this paper. The second part of the modeling, i.e. the internal components with anatomical details of small female are presented in subsequent part II of the paper.

  • Male red-spotted newts, Notophthalmus viridescens, use chemical cues to locate and select potential mates. To investigate whether large and small males respond differentially to chemical cues from conspecifics, we conducted a series of two-choice Y-maze tests with odorant stimuli from two large females (LF/LF), one large versus one small female (LF/SF), and one large female placed with four males versus one small female (LF+4M/SF). We found that males responded more rapidly in a LF/LF choice situation than in those involving LF/SF or LF+4M/SF. In addition, small males chose more quickly than did large males. These results suggest that both body size and odorant context affect the speed of odorant responses. By responding differentially to conspecific chemical cues, small males may arrive earlier at a courting area, increasing their chances of successfully guarding and mating with a female.

  • The aim of this study was to observe the effect of moxibustion at matched acupoints of ST36, ST37 and ST39 in rats with sex and age. This study measured small intestinal motility in rats. First, cauterize with moxa was applied to the ST36, ST37 and ST39 in rats classified by sex and age under enflurane anesthesia. And then same treatment is done to matched acupoints of ST36, ST37 and ST39. In each groups of ST36, ST37 and ST39, the small intestinal motility was increased in 5, 6, 8 weeks male and 5 weeks female rats at ST36, 6, 7 weeks male and 5, 6, 8 weeks female rats at ST37, 5, 6 weeks male and 5 weeks female rats at ST39. In matched acupoints, the small intestinal motility was increased in 5, 8 weeks male and 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks female rat at ST36+ST37, 5 weeks male and 6, 7, 8 weeks female rats at ST36+ST39, 5, 7 weeks male and 5, 8 weeks female rats at ST37+ST39. The effects of moxibustion at each acupoints decreased by advancing age and when these acupoints were combined, the effective results were shown in female rats of all age group. These results suggest that when each acupoints and matched acupoints was chosen in moxibustion treatment, the sex and age of individual is worth consideration.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of moxibustion at combined acupoints on sex and age in rats. This study measured the effects of moxibustion on small intestinal motility in rats. Cauterizing with moxa was applied 5 times to the acupoints on SI8, LI11 SP9 and ST36 under enflurane anesthesia in the groups divided with sex and age. In single acupoint groups, cauterizing with moxa on ST36 increased in all of sex and age groups. The SP9 group with 5, 6 weeks in female and 5, 8 weeks in male, the SI8 group with 5, 7 weeks in female and only 7 weeks in male, the LI11 group with only 5, 6, 7 weeks in female and only 7 weeks in male showed increasing on small intestinal motility. In combined acupoints groups, the SI8+SP9 group with 7 weeks in female and 5, 6, 8 weeks in male, the SI8+ST36 group with 5, 6 weeks in female and 8 weeks in male, the LI11+SP9 group with 5, 6 weeks in female and 6 weeks in male, the LI11+ST36 group with 5 weeks in female and 5, 6, 7 weeks in male showed increasing respectively. Although these different according to the sex and age in rats do not have a established tendency, the results suggested that the effects of combined acupoints of cauterizing with moxa have relation with individuality.

  • The out-of-positioned small female drivers are most likely to be injured during airbag deployment due to their stature and proximity to the steering wheel and airbag module. In order to investigate the injury mechanisms, some experimental studies with Hybrid III 5% female dummy and with female cadavers could be found from the open literatures. However, the given information from those experimental studies is quite limited to the standard conditions and might not be enough to estimate the airbag inflation aggressiveness regarding on the occupant responses and injury. In this study, a finite element analysis has been performed in order to investigate the airbag-induced injuries. A finite element 5% female human model in anatomical details has been developed. The validation results of the model are also introduced in this paper.

  • This study was designed to compare extreme variations in facial growth in order to examine the relationships between the glenoid fossa position and skeletal malocclusions. It was hypothesized that patients with large mandibular plane-sella nasion angles would have a more superior fossa position than patients with small mandibular plane-sella nasion angles. It was also hypothesized that patients with large ANB angles would have a more posterior fossa position than patients with small ANB angle. For this study, the data from lateral roentgenocephaloprams of 72 Females and 72 males aged from 10 to 18 years were used. The results were as follows 1. In the case of large ANB angle, glenoid fossa position was relatively posterior than that of small ANB angle in Female, but it was not significant in male. 2. In the case of large APDI, glenoid fossa position was relatively anterior in female, but it was not significant in male. 3. In the case of large SN-Go Gn angle, glenoid fossa position was relatively superior in both male and female. 4. In the case of large ODI, glenoid fossa position was relatively inferior in both male and female.

  • For basic data to develop health management program of female workers. this study was intended to characterize factors affecting health problems of women at workplace which has less than 50 workers by Cornell Medical Index(CMI). 195 items of CMI questionnaire were simplified to 57 items which were composed of 35 items concerning physical health problems and 22 items concerning mental health problems. The data was collected during 6 months from July 10 to December 30 and analyzed with frequency, percentage, t-test and ANOVA. The 107 female workers included in this study was characterized to be mainly twenties(64.5%), single(69.2%) and working at production position(89.7%). The most frequent physical problem was fatigability and the next, neurological system and cardiovascular system. Main mental complaints were inadquacy. anger and tension. When the health problems were reviewed according to its general characteristics, anger in young age, adaptiveness in single and respiratory complaints in self-recognized unhealthy group were prevalent. According to life styles. the prevalent complaints were musculoskeletal one in alcoholic group and cardiovascular one in group who are sleeping just for four to five hours. The appropriateness of each items of CMI should be evaluated to reveal the reasons why meaningful results could not come from many items of this questionnaire. The repeated study should be carried out to figure out the health problems and its related factors of female workers at small scale workplace. Also, exercise program and abstinence from drinking and smoking should be carried out for female worker's health.
