As the residence time in the vehicle increases, the passenger desires a pleasant and stable riding environment in addition to the high driving performance of the vehicle. The windshield defrosting performance is one of the performance requirements that is essential for driver's safe driving. In order to improve the defrosting performance of the windshield of a vehicle, relevant elements such as the shape of the defrost nozzle should be appropriately designed. In this paper, CFD based numerical analysis is conducted to improve defrost performance of small electric vehicles. The defrost performance analysis was performed by changing the angle of the defrost nozzle and the guide vane that spray hot air to the windshield of the vehicle. Numerical simulation results show that the defrosting performance is best when the defrost nozzle angle is $70^{\circ}$ and the guide vane installation angle is $60^{\circ}$. Based on the analytical results, the defrosting experiment was performed by fabricating the defrost nozzle and the guide vane. As a result of the experiment, it is confirmed that the frost of windshield is removed by 80% within 20 minutes, and it is judged that the defrost performance satisfying the FVMSS 103 specification is secured.

Recently, electric propulsion systems are used for unmanned surface vehicle, fish finder boat, etc. Some of these propulsion systems can be constructed of two electric motors and propellers for advanced impellent force. In this case, the speed difference generated between two propellers, namely, the synchronous error has a bad influence on the energy efficiency and course error. In this study, a synchronous control system is designed to restrain synchronous error caused by disturbance and mismatched dynamic characteristics. The control system is composed of the reference model, pre-filters, speed controllers, and synchronous controllers. The reference model is used for calculating the decoupled synchronous error and control input for each propulsion system. The pre-filters and speed controllers are designed in order that the propulsion system may follow the reference signal without overshoot and input saturation. And the synchronous controllers are designed from the viewpoint of stable and quick synchronization through root locus mothed approach. Finally, the simulation results show that the designed control system is effective for the disturbance.

In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between charging operation system and electricity charges connected with charging infrastructure among data of many demonstration projects focused on electric vehicles recently. At this point in time, due to the rapid increase in demand for the electric charging infrastructure that will take place in the future, we can prepare for an upcoming era in the sense of forecasting the demand value. At the same time, demonstrating and modeling optimized system modeling centering on sites is a prerequisite. The modeling based on the existing small - scale simulation and the design of the operating system are based on the data linkage analysis. In this paper, we implemented a new optimized system modeling and introduced it as a standard format to analyze time - dependent time - divisional data for each vehicle and user in each point and node. In order to verify the efficiency of the optimization based on the data linkage analysis for the actual implemented electric car charging infrastructure and operation system.
Traction battery chargers are an integral part of the required charging infrastructure. EV charging systems are continuing to improve in design. The newer types are affecting power quality to a much lesser extent. High efficiency battery chargers are being designed and produced which form little or no harmonic distortion. In addition chargers are becoming smaller and lighter. This is due mainly to the fact that there are improvements in the power electronics industry, especially with respected to IGBTs. Lower costs are achieved by the reduction in price of the IGBTs, standard magnetic material and small cores for inductors and transformers. But electric vehicles occupy a relatively small market niche at present. Therefore with already existing power supply networks, establishment of EV infrastructure can safeguard the service value of present vehicle as well as ensure the ability to charge a significant number of such vehicle. In this paper, we surveyed the update charging technologies according to the conductive charging, inductive charging and fast charging. Then we suggested cost-optimized charging infrastructure in consideration of the economical, political and technical standpoint.
A non-isolated Multiple Input Converter (MIC) with an input port, two storage ports and a load port is proposed. The synthesis of the proposed four port converter with its switch realization is presented. A steady state analysis of each operating mode with a small-signal model is derived, and a stability analysis is done. A mode selection controller is proposed to automatically choose a specific operating mode based on the voltage levels of the different source and storage units. In addition, a voltage control loop is used to regulate the output voltage. A 200W prototype is built with a TMS320F28027 DSP controller to test the feasibility of the operating modes. Simulation and experimental results show the ability of the proposed converter to handle multiple inputs either individually or simultaneously.
The design of DC-DC converters for power electronic interfaces in power management systems for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) is a very challenging task. In this paper, the considered topology is the hi-directional buck-boost converter and inverter system. If we make the converter side DC link current the same as the inverter side DC link current in a converter-inverter system, no current will flow through the BC link capacitor and as a result, no DC link voltage variation occurs. This leads to the possibility of reducing small th size of DC link capacitors which are expensive, bulky. Therefore we propose the converter current controller which can manage to match inverter and converter current at the DC link.
This paper is research about the Maximum Power Point Tracking following algorism of solar power system attached small electric car. In this paper, we investigate P&O MPPT and Incremental Conduction MPPT among existing MPPT following algorism. And by changing them, the better algorism is proposed being able to follow Maximum Power Point rapidly as amount of solar radiation changes applied to the Solar Energy Generation System.
The performance analysis of the small satellites launch vehicle using the electric pump cycle as the upper stage engines was performed. The first stage is the launch vehicle that uses the test launch vehicle of the Korea Space Launch Vehicle II and the second stage employs elecpump cycle engine that uses liquid methane and kerosene (RP-1) as fuel. A model for the mass estimation was presented and the analysis was conducted for the range of thrust of 20 to 40 kN and combustion pressure of 3 to 6 MPa with a nozzle expansion ratio of 60 to 100. The mixture ratio with the maximum velocity increment was calculated and the performance of the LEO and SSO payload were calculated from the stage mass estimation. In both the cases, liquid methane, and RP-1 showed maximum payload for 20 kN thrust, 3 MPa combustion pressure, and the nozzle expansion ratio of 100, with a mixture ratio of 3.49 for liquid methane and 2.75 for RP-1. In addition, the ditching points of the first stage and the fairing in the LEO mission were analyzed using ASTOS.
In this paper, path generation using the sensor platform is proposed. The sensor platform is composed two electric motors which make panning and tilting motions. An algorithm fur a real path form and an obstacle length is realized using a scanning algorithm to rotating the sensors on the sensor platform. An ARV (Autonomous Robot Vehicle) is able to recognize the given path by adapting this algorithm. In order for the ARV to navigate the path flexibly, a kinematic model needed to be constructed. The kinematic model of the ARV was reformed around its body center through a relative velocity relationship to controllability, which derives from the nonholonomic characteristics. The optimal controller that is based on tile kinematic model is operated purposefully to track a reference vehicle's path. The path generation algorithm is composed of two parks. On e part is the generating path pattern, and the other is used to avoid an obstacle. The optimal controller is used for tracking the reference path which is generated by recognizing the path pattern. Results of simulation show that this algorithm for an ARV is sufficient for path generation by small number of sensors and for low cost controller.

One of the causes of malfunction of commercial vehicle is corrosion or wear. In order to prevent corrosion and wear, lubricants have to be supplied periodically. However, the period of lubrication usually depends on operator's judgment. If the period is too short, excess lubricant will cause pollution and unnecessary expenses, where as long periodic supply of lubricant might cause wear, damage and eventual breakdown. Therefore, an automatic lubrication system with predetermined interval will reduce the excessive supply of lubricating oil and prevent wear and damage. This thesis presents an automatic lubrication system which consists of a lubricant pump and an embedded controller. An automatic lubrication operating algorithm is used to operate the lubricant pump and feedback the pressure status of the system using pressure sensors. The developed system shows an efficient periodic supply of lubricant.
