고응력 외상에의한 고관절용 세라믹/세라믹 쌍의 비선형 유한요소법 분석 (Non Linear Finite Element Analyses of Ceramic/Ceramic Pairs of Total Hip Replacements Using High Trauma-Like Loads)

  • Non linear finite element analyses were performed in various configurations of stem-ball head. High stresses were found for the cases when the stem tended to penetrate less into the ball head. An upgraded design of the cone may improve the loading of the ball head to resist trauma-like loading more effectively than manipulating the ball diameter. When the surgeon needs to use small ball heads (i.e. 22 mm), the use of zirconia seems to be appropriate also. After simulating a trauma like loading of the materials, it was found that the deepness of the cone to locate the stem is of major importance for the performance of the device. Further work, considering more sizes for the cone design should be performed in order to determine an optimal depth for the cone in relation to the diameter of the ball head. Also the simulation of contacts pairs including polyethylene and CoCr is important for further research.

선형가속기를 기반으로 한 뇌정위 방사선 수술 시 전용 콘과 정방형 소조사면의 선량 특성에 관한 고찰 (Evaluation of Dosimetric Characteristics of Small Field in Cone Versus Square Fields Based on Linear Accelerators(LINAC) for Stereotactic Radiosugery(SRS))

  • 선형가속기를 기반으로 하는 뇌정위적 방사선 수술에 있어 전용 콘과 동일한 정방형 조사면에서의 소조사면 선량특성에 관해 알아보고자 6 MV 광자선과 소조사면 전용 검출기를 이용해 측정하였다. 선원 표면간 거리는 100 cm로 하고, 전용 cone ${\Phi}1\;cm$, ${\Phi}2\;cm$, ${\Phi}3\;cm$과 정방형 조사면 $1{\times}1\;cm^2$, $2{\times}2\;cm^2$, $3{\times}3\;cm^2$ 조사면 으로 1.5 cm, 5 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm 지점에서 심부선량을 측정하였고, 최대 선량점에서 각 조사면에서 출력선량을 측정하여 비교하였다. 반음영의 측정을 위한 선량측면도 측정은 ${\Phi}1\;cm$, ${\Phi}3\;cm$ 및 동일한 정방형 조사면에서 선원 표면간 거리 95 cm, 깊이 5 cm에서 SFD를 이용하여 측정하였다. 물리학적 조사면(90%) 내에서는 1 mm 간격으로, 반음영 영역(20~80%)에서는 0.5 mm 간격으로 측정하였다. 전용 콘 과 정방향 조사면의 PDD 변화는 기준조사면을 기준으로 5 cm 깊이에서 4.3~7.9% 낮게 나타났으며, 콘의 크기와 조사면 크기가 커질수록 PDD 변화는 적게 나타났다. 선질 비교를 위해 $PDD_{20,10}$를 비교한 결과 ${\Phi}1\;cm$ 콘과 $1{\times}1\;cm^2$을 제외한 다른 조사면에서는 1% 이내의 변화를 보였다. 출력선량은 콘을 이용한 방법에서 정방형 조사면에서 보다 3.1~4.6% 출력선량이 증가하였다. 반음영 영역은 ${\Phi}1\;cm$, ${\Phi}3\;cm$ 동일한 정방형 조사면에서 콘을 이용한 방법이 반음영 영역이 20% 감소하였다. 뇌정위적 방사선 수술은 소조사면을 이용해 1회 대선량을 조사하는 방법으로 조사면의 선량특성을 고려한 처방이 중요하게 된다. 본 실험을 통해 뇌정위적 방사선 수술에 있어 정방형 소조사면 보다 전용 콘을 이용한 방법이 유효하다고 사료되며, 향후 다양한 측정기를 이용한 소조사면의 선량특성에 관한 연구가 필요하다고 생각된다.

참갈겨니 Zacco koreanus와 눈동자개 Pseudobagrus koreanus의 생태학적 차이에 의한 망막 조직의 비교 연구 (Comparative Study of the Retinal Structure in Two Korean Endemic Freshwater Fishes, Zacco koreanus (Cyprinidae) and Pseudobagrus koreanus (Bagridae) Based on Their Habitats)

  • 한국산 고유 담수 어종인 참갈겨니와 눈동자개의 안구 외부형태와 망막구조를 광학현미경과 전자현미경으로 비교 조사하였다. 참갈겨니는 안구의 크기뿐만 아니라 수평안경/체장, 수평안경/두장의 비율이 모두 눈동자개보다 크게 나타났고 다만, 수정체직경/수평안경은 눈동자개가 더 크게 나타났다. 망막의 시각세포층에서 참갈겨니는 크게 단일원뿔세포와 이중원뿔세포, 두 종류의 원뿔세포를 가지며 단일원뿔세포는 긴단일원뿔세포와 짧은단일원뿔세포로 나뉜다. 반면 눈동자개는 긴단일원뿔세포와 짧은단일원뿔세포로 구분할 수 없는 단지 단일원뿔세포로만 구성되어 있었다. 또한 원뿔세포의 배열구조에 있어서도 참갈겨니는 보다 치밀한 열구조로 배열되어 있는 반면 눈동자개는 성긴 불규칙한 구조로 배열되어 있었다. 이상과 같이 참갈겨니와 눈동자개의 안구 및 망막의 구조적 차이는 2종 간의 생태학적 특성과 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 생각된다.

콘빔형 소동물용 전산화단층촬영(CT) 장치의 성능평가 (Characterization of Cone-beam Computed Tomography System for Small Animal)

  • 콘빔형 소동물용 CT 장치는 바이오-의료분야의 기초 실험에 활발히 응용되고 있다. $10{\mu}m$의 직경을 가진 텅스텐 와이어(wire)와 물 팬텀을 이용하여 비교적 간단한 방법으로 소동물용 CT 장치를 평가할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다. X선 튜브가 안정적으로 장시간 운전 가능한 조건에서 $1^{\circ}$ 간격으로 360개의 투영영상을 획득하고, 영상재구성을 통하여 슬라이스 영상 및 3차원 영상을 얻었다. 콘빔형 소동물용 CT 장치는 배율 1.07배 위치에서 13.78lp/mm(공간해상도 $36.2{\mu}m$)를 나타내었고, 80kV의 관전압에서 CNR 10.33 및 S/N 5.87을 보였다.

볼 충격을 받는 유리의 콘크랙형성에 대한 실링재료의 영향 (The Effects of Sealing Materials in Cone Crack Formation of Soda-lime Glass by Ball Impact)

  • In order to investigate the possibility of punching process of brittle material by ball impact, the effects of sealing materials about impact damage of soda-lime glass by small spheres were evaluated experimentally. The using of sealing materials in the development of perfect cone crack was more effective than no using of sealing materials. At the sealing materials condition, in the case of 5mm-thick specimen, Copper and PMMA sealing were more effective in producing a perfect cone formation than the other sealing materials. And in the case of 8mm-thick specimen, Aluminum sealing was most effective in producing a perfect cone formation. The impact velocity range over which perfect cones were formed was influenced by both the thickness of specimen and sealing materials. By a proper selection of sealing materials, the application fur industrial technology for hole (or nozzle) punching process of brittle materials is expected.

A Histological Study on the Visual Cell Layer of the Endemic Korean Species Liobagrus mediadiposalis (Pisces: Amblycipitidae)

  • A study on the visual cell and eyeball of the endemic Korean species Liobagrus mediadiposalis was investigated by light and electron microscopes. The retina of a small and 2 mm-diameter round eye was thin, $151.0{\pm}4.0{\mu}m$ and has two visual cells, a single cone and a rod cell. The single cone cells are short and thick, $18.0{\pm}0.9{\mu}m$ in length and $5.1{\pm}0.7{\mu}m$ (n=30) in diameter, while the rod cells are longer and thinner, $54.8{\pm}2.9{\mu}m$ in length and $3.3{\pm}0.6{\mu}m$ in diameter. The cone cells are seen an irregular and random mosaic pattern, and the rod cells are also randomly situated at between cone cells. As a rare phenomenon, such structure is one of characteristics reflecting the eye of a nocturnal and bottom-dwelling freshwater fish. The ultrastructure of visual cells was observed with scanning and transmission electron microscopy, both cone and rod cells are divided into an inner segment with numerous mitochondria and an outer segment with stacks of membrane discs.

Torsional vibration analysis of bi-directional FG nano-cone with arbitrary cross-section based on nonlocal strain gradient elasticity

  • In this paper, for the first time based on the nonlocal strain gradient theory the effect of size dependency in torsional vibration of bi-direction functionally graded (FG) nonlinear nano-cone is study. The material properties were assumed to vary according to the arbitrary function in radial and axial directions. The Navier equation and boundary conditions of the size-dependent bidirectional FG nonlinear nano-cone were derived by Hamilton's principle. These equations were solved by employing the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). The presented model can turn into the classical model if the material length scale parameters are taken to be zero. The effects of some parameters, such as inhomogeneity constant, cross-sectional area parameter and small-scale parameters, were studied. As an essential result of this study can be stated that an FG nano-cone model based on the nonlocal elasticity theory behaves softer and based on the strain gradient theory behaves harder.

The effect of metal artifacts on the identification of vertical root fractures using different fields of view in cone-beam computed tomography

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of metal artifacts on the accurate diagnosis of root fractures using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images with large and small/limited fields of view (FOVs). Materials and Methods: Forty extracted molar and premolar teeth were collected. Access canals were made in all teeth using a rotary system. In half of the teeth, fractures were created by the application of mild pressure with a hammer. The teeth were then randomly put into a wax rim on an acryl base designed in the shape of a mandible. CBCT scans were obtained using a Newtom 5G system with FOVs of $18cm{\times}16cm$ and $6cm{\times}6cm$. A metal pin was then placed into each tooth, and CBCT imaging was again performed using the same fields of view. All scans were evaluated by two oral and maxillofacial radiologists. The specificity, sensitivity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and likelihood ratios (positive and negative) were calculated. Result: The maximum levels of sensitivity and specificity (100% and 100%, respectively) were observed in small-volume CBCT scans of teeth without pins. The highest negative predictive value was found in the small-volume group without pins, whereas the positive predictive value was 100% in all groups except the large-volume group with pins. Conclusion: The specificity of CBCT decreased with the presence of a pin in the large-volume group, but not in the small-volume group.

동해 심해에서의 통발 어구종류별 수심별 어획 특성 (Catch and species composition with some different traps by depth in the deep-water of the East Sea)

  • The investigation for the catch and species composition in the deep sea of the East Sea was done to search marine organisms using some kinds of traps with small commercial fishing vessel near Goseong, Korea from 2008 to 2009. The experiments was carried out with some different traps at the depth of 200m, 400m, 700m and 1,000m. In 2008, the amount of catch with rectangular, cone and drum net traps was 91.4kg with twelve trips and the proportion of catch with rectangular and cone traps was high. Dominant species caught were Aniwan whelk (57%), snow crab (12%), hunchback sculpin (7%) and red snow crab (5%). The catch of Aniwan whelk was done well with rectangular and cone traps at the depth of 700-1,000m. Snow crab was mainly caught with rectangular and cone traps at the shallower depth of 200m, while red snow crab caught a lot with cone trap at the deeper depth of 700m. In 2009, the amount of catch with rectangular, cone and round traps was 92.4kg with nine trips. The proportion of catch with round trap was higher than that with cone trap. Dominant species caught were snow crab (67.1%), Aniwan whelk (14.8%) and northern shrimp (9.8%). Snow crab was caught well with round trap at the depth less than 400m.

비탈면 취약도 평가를 위한 동적콘관입시험기 모듈개발과 표준관입시험값과의 상관관계 연구 (Development of Dynamic Cone Penetration Tester Module for Slope Vulnerability Assessment and Correlation of Its Results with Standard Penetration Test Values)

  • 비탈면의 유실, 붕락사고 등 비탈면에 대한 안정성을 파악하기 위해서 지층의 구성상태, 역학적 특성 등의 지반정보 파악이 필요하다. 이러한 지반정보를 파악하기 위해서 일반적으로 표준관입시험(SPT) 및 콘 관입시험 등이 널리 이용되고 있다. 대부분이 급경사로 이루어지고 진입로가 없는 비탈면에 대한 접근성 문제로 표준관입시험이 널리 활용되지 못하고 있다. 이러한 단점을 보완할 수 있는 있는 휴대용 장비인 Drop Cone Penetrometer(DCP)를 이용한 조사도 여러 가지 문제로 제한적으로 사용되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 비탈면 현장접근이 용이한 휴대용 시추기와 동적콘관입시험 모듈을 개발하고, 개발된 동적콘관입시험기를 이용한 결과와 동일 현장에서 수행한 표준관입시험값과 상관성을 분석하였다. 에너지전단율로 보정된 동적콘관입시험과 표준관입시험간의 상관식은 Nd' = 3.13 N'으로 나타났다.
