농촌 소유역 수환경 개선을 위한 유역관리 협의체 구성방안 - 함평천 사례를 중심으로 - (Framework of Watershed Management Organization Consortium for Water Environment Improvement of Small Rural Watershed)

  • Proper management of small rural watershed is important since it does affect water quality improvement of larger scale watershed. Therefore, effective small watershed management guideline including participatory program of local people is required to achieve water environment improvement. Feasibility of water quality goal, short and long-term watershed management plan and funding sources were investigated by field monitoring of Hampyungchun watershed which has characteristics of rural stream, and literature review. The relevant parties and their roles fer watershed management were identified and suggested. A hybrid model, that is mixture of government driven model and NGO model, is recommended for watershed management organization in this study.

농촌 소유역에 대한 GWLF 모형의 적용성 검토 (The Application of the GWLF model for Agricultural Small Watershed)

  • The objective of the study is to investigate the application of the mid-range model for agricultural ungaged small watershed. In this study, the need for the selection of an optimal model was presented, and the Feasibility of the GWLF(Generalized Watershed Loading Function) model was examined for agricultural small watershed. The study watershed covers 384ha, and the hydrologic and water quality data were monitored from 1996 to 2004. In the results of the simulation for the calibration period $(1996{\sim}1999)$ and verification $(2002{\sim}2004)$, $R^2$ were $0.70{\sim}0.91$ and RMSE was $2.11{\sim}5.71$. Then, the results of water quality simulation for SS, TN and TP, show that $R^2$ were 0.58, 0.47 and 0.62 respectively. This results were compared with the other research using the detailed models (SWAT, HSPF) for the same watershed and this showed the feasibility of mid-range model for the small watershed.

골프장 조성이 소유역의 지형적 특성에 미치는 영향 분석 (The Effects of Golf Course Construction on the Geomorphic Characteristics of a Small Watershed)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the changes in geomorphic characteristics of a small watershed when a golf course is constructed. The research site is a set of seven small watersheds including an 18-hole golf course that were randomly selected. The size, shape, and drainage network of watersheds were measured by using planimeter, watershed eccentricity, and stream order, respectively. In addition, a 25m$\times$25m mesh was used on topographic maps and grading plans in order to obtain the slope, elevation, and aspect of the watersheds. The major results of this research, while investigating of the changes in geomorphic characteristics of watersheds when a golf course is constructed, are as follows: 1. The size of watersheds is increased in accordance to the difference in elevation between the golf course site and the small watershed. 2. The watershed eccentricities are in general similar except for a few low-valued cases. 3. The changes in the average altitude and the gradient are more drastic with their bigger original values. 4. The aspects are changed more with decreasing elevation. 5. The stream order decreases in the case of a low watershed eccentricity. 6. The surface modification has a closer relationship to the slope rather than the size of effective use area. 7. With a steeper gradient and an excessively low gradient, the height of cutting/filling is increased.

THE WATERSHED MANAGEMENT AND ASSESSMENT USING GIS BASED ON HYDROLOGICAL AND LANDSCAPE ECOLOGICAL ANALYSIS

  • The watersheds are functional geographical areas that integrate a variety of environmental and ecological processes and human impacts on landscapes. Geographical assessments using GIS recognize the relationship between interdependence of resources and ecological/environmental components in watersheds. They are useful methodology for viable long term natural resource management. This paper performs through the using hydrological analyses, landscape ecological analyses, remote sensing, and GIS. Indicators are items or measures that represent key components of the small watersheds, and they are developed to be evaluated. Some indicators are described that they represent watershed condition and trend as well as focus on physical, biological and chemical properties of small watershed. Also, ecological functions such as stability, resilience, and sensitivity are inferred from them. The model implemented in GIS allows to reflect the ecological and hydrological functioning of watershed. Methodology from image analysis, landscape ecological analysis, spatial interpolation, and numerical process modeling are integrated within GIS to provide assessment for eco-logical/environmental condition. Results are described from the small watershed of Gwynns Falls in Baltimore County and Baltimore City, Maryland, an area of about 66.5 square miles. The small watershed within Gwynns Falls watershed are subject to a number of land-use. But it is predominantly urban, with significantly lesser amounts of forest and agriculture. The increasing urbanization is ass-coiated with ecological/environmental impacts and citizen conflicts.

  • This study was carried out to provide environmental information using geographic information system for the environmental manager engaged in governmental office. Point and nonpoint sources were classified by each small watershed and an administrative district. ArcView and ERDAS software were used to develop environmental information system. Small watershed was extracted into the DTEM using HEC-geoHMS which is ArcView extension. Study area was divided into 7 small watershed. Point sources were constituted as cattle, milk cattle, swine, and poultry. Land use was divided into forests, rice paddies, residential sites et al. User interface was designed to search information easily for the nonprofessional GIS users.

샛강 생태복원을 위한 해외 사례 연구의 고찰 (An Analytical Study of Foreign Researches and Examples on Ecological Restoration for the Small Stream)

  • Most domestic small rivers and streams due to industrialization and urbanization have managed by concrete structures. The environmental functions of the river and stream are disappearing and urban streams play only the role of drainage systems. Also, the researches to restore natural streams are something yet to develop and not established the restoration for ecological functions of a small stream. Therefore the researches are required to develop ecological engineering system for watershed management system to handle various pollutants with restoration for ecological functions of a small stream. To develop this, the ecological engineering system for watershed management system could be developed with ecological conservation. In addition, ecological engineering system for watershed management system should be prior to conserve the habitat of biological resources and water conservation and applied to the original shape of streams. Also, it should be designed to restore the micro-topography of stream, the habitat of plant population in watershed. It is needed to develop the integrated researches to restore a small stream ecosystem.

SCS TR-20 모형을 이용한 미계측 소유역의 홍수유출량 추정 (Estimating Peak Runoff from Small Ungauged Watersheds Using SCS TR-20 Model)

  • The objectives of this study are to evaluate the applicability of SCS TR-20 model for small ungauged watershed, to show the behavior of the model with variation of topography in watershed, and to evaluate the storage effect of paddy field for flood flow. For this purpose, simulated data from the model were compared with the observed flood data at two sites (HS#3, HS#4) in Balan watershed. From the comparison between simulated and observed data, it was found that the model is applicable to this watershed.

중소유역의 일별 용수수급해석을 위한 하천망모형의 개발(I) - 중소유역의 일유출량 추정 - (A Streamflow Network Model for Daily Water Supply and Demands on Small Watershed (1) -Simulating Daily Streamflow from Small Watersheds-)

  • The Objectives of this paper were to develop a modified tank model that is capable of simulating daily streamflow from a small watershed using daily watershed evapotranspiration and to test the applicability of the model to different watersheds. Tank model was restructured to consist of three series of tanks, each of which may mathematically reflect watershed runoff mechanisms from different components of surface runoff, interflow, and baseflow. And pan evaporation was correlated to potential evapotranspiration estimated from a combination method, and was multiplied by monthly crop and landuse coefficients, and watershed storage coefficient to estimate the watershed evapotranspiration losses. Ten watersheds were selected to calibrate model parameters that were defined using an optimization scheme, and the results were correlated with watershed parameters. Simulated daily runoff was compared to the observed ones from the tested watersheds. The simulating results were in good agreement with the observed values when optimal and calibrated parameters were used. Ungaged conditions were also applied to compare simulated values to the observed. And the results were in fair conditions for all the tested watersheds which differ considerably in their sizes, landuse types, and physiological features.

농업용 저수지의 소수력 개발을 위한 경제성 분석 (Economic Feasibility Analysis for Development of Small Hydropower Using Agricultural Reservoirs)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of hydropower factors (watershed, gross head), operation ratio and unit electricity cost on the benefit-cost ratio (B/C ratio) of small hydropower using agricultural reservoirs. The equation of B/C ratio was expressed as a function of watershed area, gross head, operation ratio and unit electricity cost. The benefit increased with watershed area, gross head and unit electricity cost, while the cost increased with watershed area and gross head but decreased with operation ratio. The B/C ratio increased with watershed area, gross head, operation ratio and unit electricity cost. While the effect of gross head on the B/C ratio decreased with watershed area, the effect of operation ratio and unit electricity cost on the B/C ratio increased with watershed area. The operation ratio is an important factor to affect the B/C ratio and therefore we need to develop hydropower for the heightened dams to expect high operation ratio due to continuous water release. The unit electricity cost is also an important factor to affect the B/C ratio and the B/C ratio was always below 1 unless unit electricity cost is over 60 Won/kWh under given conditions. The reservoirs with economic feasibility for small hydropower development were three in 21 when the equation of B/C ratio was appled to the study reservoirs. The results can be used to choose the appropriate reservoir with economic feasibility for development of small hydropower.

미계측 소하천수계의 합성단위도 유도 (Derivation of the Synthetic Unit Hydrograph at Ungaged Small Watershed)

  • 미측측 소하천 유역에 적용할만한 합성단위도를 찾아내기 위하여 대표유역의 관측자료로부터 각 소하천의 실측단위도를 유도하였다. 소하천 유역의 특성인자와 단위도의 특성치를 분석하여 Snyder, S.C.S, Nash, Clark에서 이용되는 식을 유도하였다. 이들 식을 이용하여 대표유역의 유역특성치로서 각 방법에 의한 합성단위도를 유도하고 이들 합성단위도와 실측단위도를 비교 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 특성을 발견하였다. Snyder 방법에 의한 첨두유량과 근사하였으나 첨두유량의 25,50,75%되는 단위도의 좌표만으로는 단위도의 형을 결정하기엔 미흡함이 남아있다. Clark 방법에 의하여 합성단위도를 정확하게 유도하기 위하여 그 유역의 시간-면적도의 기저장과 등유달시간면적을 정확하게 구할 수 있는 방법이 모색되어야 한다고 생각한다. Nash 방법에 의한 합성단위도의 첨두유량과 기저시간은 저장상수와 Gamma 함수인자만의 함수이기 때문에 정확한 저장상수와 Gamma 함수인자의 결정이 선행되어야만 신빙성있고 정도가 높은 단위도 유도가 가능하리라 판단된다. S.C.S 방법에서 첨두유량은 유역면적에 비례하고 첨두유량 발성시간에 반비례하기 때문에 첨두유량 발생이 빠른 소유역에서는 다소 큰 첨두유량 값을 갖음을 알았다.
