루프형 낙성방지안전시설의 구조적 안전성 검토 연구 (Structural Safety Analysis of Newly Developed Roof-Typed Falling Rock Protection System)

  • Road is typically constructed along ridge area of mountain because of topographical and economic reasons. Therefore, road may face lots of open cut slope which can easily cause rock falling. This study evaluates the structural safety of newly developed falling rock protection system which has a roof deck plate. The structural performance under self-weight, snow load and load from falling rock was investigated using a finite element numerical analysis method. From the analysis results, the H-beam space was limited not to exceed 2.2m. The deck plate was also safe under the examined loading condition. A hinge and connection in the system were investigated through detailed numerical modelling and analysis. The results showed that the hinge was safe enough and that the connection should strengthened with appropriate stiffeners.

  • Design of pre-compression region(trapping region) of the valve plate is an important element to minimize the pressure fluctuation in a cylinder and in discharge process, and pump noise. In this study, we tried to prove what the characteristics of the oil hydraulic pump would be according to the angle of the trapping region. Three kinds of asymmetrical valve plates were used. As a result, we found that by designing the trapping region, the slope of the pressure rise in the cylinder port from low-pressure suction region to high-pressure discharge region is relaxed and the pressure fluctuation width and the discharge pressure pulsation are reduced. Therefore, because the pump gets smooth pressure fluctuation and low fluid Impact, the pump noise is reduce.

  • This paper presents the performance of a Flat-Plate Solar Collector in case of taking into account of the thermal capacitance. The relationships among energy absorption, overall heat loss coefficient and temperature distribution are studied theoretically. And the thermal capacitance of the collector is considered. Also, the results obtained are compared with those of model in which the thermal capacitance is neglected. As the results of this study, the efficiency of the collector having double glazing is higher than the other cases. It is shown that the fluid temperature in the tubes are rising close to linearly. The variations of the outlet temperature of tubes in the model neglecting the effect of thermal capacitance are tend to represent lower slope than that of considering the effect of thermal capacitance.

Feasibility Study on the New Structure of a Spindle Motor for Hard Disk Drive

  • This paper presents the new structure of a spindle motor for hard disk drive (HDD). It can produce axial force as well as torque without a pulling plate or a pulling magnet required for the normal operation of a hydrodynamic bearing in rotating-shaft structure. The proposed models have different air gap length along the axial direction by changing the thickness of permanent magnet (PM). One has a single slope and the other has double slopes on the surface of PM. For the design of the proposed models, variables are defined and its effects on the motor performances are investigated by 3-demensional finite element analysis (FEA). The equi-performance curves are investigated for the main characteristics of the spindle motor such as generated torque, axial force and torque ripple ratio. The validity of the proposed models is verified by the feasibility study and performance evaluation.

  • In this study, the velocity distribution according to upper side coner shape of underwater construction with rectangular cylinder was measured with PIV method and the wake flow characteristics was considered. According to the coner shape, the flow pattern of wake flow was also differed greatly and the step-shaped coner of cut-off ratio B/H=0.06 was similar in the slope shape in result.

스노우보드 게임 시뮬레이터 개발 (The Development of Game Simulator for Snowboard)

  • 본 논문에서는 사용자의 동작을 측정하고 물리적인 변화를 사용자에게 느끼게 하여 실제 스노우보드를 즐기는 것 같은 스노우보드 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 스노우보드는 사용자의 무게중심에 따라 속도와 방향이 결정된다. 개발된 시뮬레이터는 스노우보드 플레이트에 4개의 스프링을 장착하여 사용자의 무게 중심의 변화에 따라 기울기를 변화시켜 스노우보드의 기울기 변화를 직접 느낄 수 있게 하였다. 사용자의 무게중심의 변화에 따른 기울기는 3축 가속도센서를 사용하여 측정하였다. 스노우보드의 회전에 따라 발생하는 슬로프의 마찰을 BLDC 모터를 사용하여 사용자가 느낄 수 있도록 하였고, 스노우보드의 회전은 홀센서를 사용하여 측정하였다. 시뮬레이터의 빠른 데이터 처리를 위해 두 개의 MCU를 사용하여 가속도 센서와 모터를 별도로 사용하여 측정된 데이터를 PC로 전송하였다. 개발된 시뮬레이터는 슬로프의 경사 및 마찰을 직접 경험할 수 있으며, 측정된 데이터와 HMD를 착용하여 보다 현실감이 있는 스노우보드를 즐길 수 있도록 하였다.

  • In this paper, experimental and numerical study on a combined sheet metal forming and plate forging of a seal part of a passenger car's hub bearing is conducted to develop the new process of which target is to remove machining process by plate forging and to achieve near-net shape manufacturing. The previous process of a sheet metal forming inevitably needed a machining process for making stepped sheet after conventional sheet metal forming in a progressive way. The stepped sheet is intended to be formed by plate forging in this study. Through the systematic way of developing the combined forming process using solid elements based-elastoplastic finite element method (FEM), several conceptual designs are made and an optimized process design in terms of geometric dimensioning and tolerance of straightness of the thin part is found, which is exposed to bending in metal forming of axisymmetric part. The predicted straightness measured by the slope angle of the tilted thin region is compared with the experimental straightness, showing that they are in a good agreement with each other. Through this study, a systematic approach to optimal process design, based on elastoplastic FEM with solid elements, is established, which will contribute to innovating the conventional small-scaled sheet metal forming processes which can be dealt with by solid elements.

비선형 유한요소법을 이용한 메탈 플레이트 접합부의 거동해석 (Analysis of Behavior of Metal Plate Connection by Nonlinear Finite Element Method)

  • 경골 목조 트러스를 접합하는데 가장 널리 사용되는 메탈 플레이트 접합부의 거동을 해석하기 위한 연구가 많이 수행되어왔다. 유한요소법을 사용한 해석은 그 연구들중의 하나이다. 선형 모델을 사용한 유한요소법은 하중-변위 곡선의 초기 경사를 예측하는데는 유효하게 사용될 수 있다. 하지만, 하중이 증가할수록 예측된 변위는 실험치에 비해 과예측이 된다. 따라서 선형 모델을 비선형부분을 예측하는데는 사용할 수 없다. 실제 거동을 더욱 정확하게 예측하기 위해, 본 연구에서는 비선형 항을 유한요소 모델에 첨가시켰다. EA와 AA 형태에서는 예측치와 실험치간에 고도의 유사성을 보여주었다. 하지만, EE와 AE 형태에서는 곡선의 비선형 부분에서 실험치와 예측치가 약간의 차이를 보여주었다. 이러한 결과는 슬립의 효과를 충분히 반영하지 못한 것에 기인한 것으로 추측된다. 결과적으로 메틸플레이트 접합부의 거동에 있어서 비선형 해석의 정확도를 증진시키기 위해서는 반드시 슬립의 효과가 고려되어야 할 것이다.

제형 및 사인형 주름 강판의 초기 불완전 형상을 고려한 전단 좌굴 특성 비교 (A Comparitive Study on the Shear Buckling Characteristics of Trapezoidal and Sinusoidal Corrugated Steel Plate Considering Initial Imperfection)

  • This paper conducted a comparative analysis of the shear buckling characteristics of trapezoidal and sinusoidal corrugated steel plates considering of their initial imperfection. Initial imperfection refers to the state where the shape of the corrugated plate is initially not perfect. As such, an initially imperfect shape was assumed using the eigen buckling mode. To calculate the buckling stress of corrugated steel plates, the linear buckling analysis used a boundary condition which was applied to the plate buckling analysis. For the comparison of trapezoidal and sinusoidal corrugation, the shape parameters were assumed using the case where the length and slope of each corrugation were the same, and the initial imperfection was considered to be from 0.1% to 5% based on the length of the steel plate. Here, for the buckling analysis, ANSYS, a commercial FEA program, was used. From the results of buckling analysis, the effect of overall initial imperfection showed that the larger the initial imperfection, the lower the buckling stress. However, in the very thin model, interaction or local buckling was dominant in the perfect shape, and in this case, the buckling stress did not decrease. Besides, the sinusoidal model showed higher buckling stress than the trapezoidal one, and the two corrugation shapes decreased in a similar way.

개착식 터널에서 파형강판 라이닝의 해석 기법 평가 (Evaluation of Analysis Code of Corrugated Steel Plate Lining in Cut-and-Cover Tunnel)

  • Most tunnel lining material which has been used in the domestic is a concrete. But many problems as the construction period, the cost, and the crack occurrence for the design, construction, and management were happened in the concrete lining. For this reason, many research institutes like the Korea Highway Corporation recognize the necessity of an alternate material development and grow on the interest for that. So in this study, the behaviour characteristics for the application of the Corrugated Steel Plate Lining in cut-and-cover tunnel are evaluated as several conditions for the backfill height, the cutting slope, and the relative density of backfill soil are changed. In addition, through using that conditions, CHBDC(2000, Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code) is evaluated if it could be applied to the design by comparing with the numerical analysis results. As the behaviour characteristics of the Corrugated Steel Plate Lining by CHBDC and the static numerical analysis are analyzed, both the methods show the same linear increases of the compressive stress according to the increase of the backfill height. The CHBDC of the dead load condition has very similar tendency by comparing with the result of the static numerical analysis.
