Point cloud-based 3D maps can obtain many kinds of information for maintenance work on forest road networks. This study was conducted to compare the importance of each factor to select the factors required for the mapping of 3D forest road maps. This can be used as basic data for attribute information required to maintain forest road networks. The results of this study found that out of a total of 30 indexes extracted for mapping 3D forest roads, a total of 21 indexes related to stakeholder groups were significantly different. The importance of the index required by the civil service group was significantly higher than that of the other groups overall. In the case of the academic group, the index importance for cut slope, fill slope, and drainage facility was significantly higher. On the other hand, the index importance for the forestry cooperative and forest professional engineer group was mostly distributed between the civil servants' group and the academic group. In particular, the type of drainage system showed the highest value among the detailed indexes. Overall, drainage related factors in this survey had high coefficient values. The impact of water on forest roads was the most important part in road maintenance. In addition, the soil texture had a high value in relation to slope stability. This is thought to be because the texture of the soil affects the stability of the slope.
This paper deals with the recognition algorithm of walking will based on torque estimation. Recently, concern about walking assistant aids is increasing according to the increase in population of elder and handicapped person. However, most of walking aids don't have any actuators for its movement. So, general walking aids have weakness for its movement to upward/download direction of slope. To overcome the weakness of the general walking aids, many researches for active type walking aids are being progressed. Unfortunately it is difficult to control aids during its movement, because it is not easy to recognize user's walking will. Many kinds of methods are proposed to recognize of user's walking will. In this paper, we propose walking will recognition algorithm by using torque estimation from wheels. First, we measure wheel velocity and voltage at the walking aids. From these data, external forces are extracted. And then walking will that is included by walking velocity and direction is estimated. Here, all the processes are verified by simulation and experiment in the real world.

One proposal is made for constructing nonparametric estimator of slope parameters in a regression model under symmetric error distributions. This estimator is based on the use of idea of Johns for estimating the center of the symmetric distribution together with the idea of regression quantiles and regression trimmed mean. This nonparametric estimator and some other L-estimators are studied by Monte Carlo.

For the development of empirical equation of run-up height, a new surf parameter called' wave action slope' $S_x$ is introduced. Approximate equation has been produced for each band of water depth for the computation of wave run-up height using the laboratory graph of Saville(1958). On the other hand using the laboratory data of Ahrens(1988) and Mase(1989), empirical equations of run-up height have been developed for the general application with considering roughness effect covering a wide range of water depth and wall slope. When Mase tried to relate the run-up height to the Iribarren number, nonlinear relation has been obtained and hence the empirical equation has a power law. But when the wave action slope is adopted as a major factor for the estimation of run-up height the empirical equation shows a linear relationship with very good correlation for the wide range of water depth and wall slope.

Although the government and local governments devote efforts to activate bicycles, they only access to the supply infrastructure such as bike lanes and the public bicycle rental service centers without considering the measures to overcome the geographical constraints of slope. Therefore, this study constructs bicyclist's energy consumption estimation model through experimental methods of slope gradient and heart rate measurement and suggest the bicycle route choice model which could minimize the energy by the slope gradient. After calculating the RMSE of the estimated energy consumption by applying this model to the simulation section, it is confirmed to be 41% better than the model which does not reflect slope gradient. The results of this study are expected to be applied to the bicycle infrastructure planning that considers both longitude and transverse of bike lanes and the algorithm of bicycle route guidance system in the future.
The influence of climate change on rainfall patterns has triggered landslide and debris flow with casualties and property damage. This study constructed DSM and Orthophoto by using UAV surveying technique and evaluated landslide risk area by applying GIS data into the infinite slope stability model. As a result of the estimation of slope stability in a site, the slope instability has $SI{\leq}1.0$ with cover area 46,396m2, and the distribution percentage was 18.2%. The most dangerous section has $SI{\leq}0.0$ with its cover area 7,988m2, and the ratio was 0.8%. The reviews regarding the risk of landslide and debris flow risk by stability index and river channel analysis respectively help being able to designate the hazard zone due to heavy rainfall. Therefore the analysis result of this study will need to reinforce soil slope and plan their safety measures in the future.

Groundwater flow in confined aquifer and heat transport in underground geologic media are using same governing equation(line source) like well fuction. Therefore the conventional slope method using only later data obtained from in-situ thermal response test to determine the thermal conductivity of vertical geothermal heat exchanger(GHEX) is basically identical with one of Theis straight line method of aquifer test under artesian condition. In case that the pumping rate(Q, $m^3$/d) and drawdown(s,m) which are used for input data of existing hydrogeologic computer programs for aquifer test are replaced and converted to supplying heat energy per unit length of bore hole(Q/L,w/m or Kcal/h.m) and temperatures (T,$^{\circ}C$)measured at in and out-let of GHEX as in put data respectively, thermal conductivity around geothermal heat exchanger can be easily estimated without any special modification of the existing hydrogeologic computer program. Two numbers of time series temperature variation data obtained from in situ geothermal response test are analized using Theismethods(standard curve and straight line method) by using existing aquifer test program and conventional Slope method proposed by ASHRAE. The results show that thermal conductivity values estimated by two straight methods are identical and the difference of estimated values between standard curve methods and Slope method are also within acceptable ranges. In general, the thermal conductivity estimated from Theis straight linemethod gives more accurate value than the one of Slope method due to that Slope method uses only visual matching otherwise Theis method uses automatic curve matching estimation with reducing RSS.
The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model, semi-distributed model, first divides the watershed into multiple subwatersheds, and then extracts the basic computation element, called the Hydrologic Response Unit (HRU). In the process of HRU generation, the spatial information of land use and soil maps within each subwatershed is lost. The SWAT model estimates the HRU topographic data based on the average slope of each subwatershed, and then use this topographic datum for all HRUs within the subwatershed. To improve the SWAT capabilities for various watershed scenarios, the Spatially Distributed-HRU (SD-HRU) pre-processor module was developed in this study to simulate site-specific topographic data. The SD-HRU was applied to the Hae-an watershed, where field slope lengths and slopes are measured for all agricultural fields. The analysis revealed that the SD-HRU pre-processor module needs to be applied in SWAT sediment simulation for accurate analysis of soil erosion and sediment behaviors. If the SD-HRU pre-processor module is not applied in SWAT runs, the other SWAT factors may be over or under estimated, resulting in errors in physical and empirical computation modules although the SWAT estimated flow and sediment values match the measured data reasonably well.
The procedure that combines the result of infiltration analysis into stability analysis based on the limit equilibrium method is widely used to evaluate the impact of rainfall infiltration on slope stability. Accurate prediction of rainfall infiltration is essential to the prediction of landslides caused by rainfall, requires to obtain accurate unsaturated hydraulic properties of the soil. Among the unsaturated hydraulic characteristics of the soil, the importance of the soil-water characteristic curve describing the retained water characteristics of the soil is relatively well known and the measurement by test method to obtain the SWCC is gradually increasing. However, it takes a lot of time and expenses to experimentally measure the unsaturated conductivity characteristics of the soil. Therefore, it is common practice to estimate the hydraulic conductivity function from the SWCC. Although it is widely known that the SWCC has a great influence on rainfall infiltration, studies on the effect of the hydraulic conductivity function estimated from the SWCC on rainfall infiltration are very limited. In this study, we explained how the estimation model of the hydraulic conductivity function affects rainfall infiltration and slope stability analysis. To this end, one-dimensional infiltration analysis and slope stability analysis were conducted by using the data on the SWCC of weathered granite soil widely distributed in Korea. The applicability of each estimation model is discussed through review of the analysis results.
The operational aerosol retrieval algorithm for the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) measurements was recently updated and named collection 6 (C6). The C6 MODIS aerosol algorithm, a substantially improved version of the collection 5 (C5) algorithm, uses an enhanced aerosol optical thickness(AOT) retrieval process consisting of new surface reflection and aerosol models. This study reports on the estimation and validation of the two latest versions, the C5 and C6 MODIS aerosol products over the East Asian region covering $20^{\circ}N$ to $56^{\circ}N$ and $80^{\circ}E$ to $150^{\circ}E$. This study also presents a comparative validation of the two versions(C5 and C6) of algorithms with different methods(Dark Target(DT) and Deep Blue (DB) retrieval methods) from the Terra and Aqua platforms to make use of the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET) sites for the years 2000-2016. Over the study region, the spatially averaged annual mean AOT retrieved from C6 AOT is about 0.035 (5%) less than the C5 counterparts. The linear correlations between MODIS and AERONET AOT are R = 0.89 (slope = 0.86) for C5 and R = 0.95 (slope = 1.00) for C6. Moreover, the magnitude of the mean error in C6 AOT-the difference between MODIS AOT and AERONET AOT-is 40% less than that in C5 AOT.
