타이어 뉴메틱 트레일 정보를 활용한 횡방향 타이어 노면 마찰 계수에 관한 연구 (A Study on Lateral Tire-road Friction Coefficient Estimation Using Tire Pneumatic Trail Information)

  • The demands for vehicle safety systems such as ABS and ESC have been increased. Accurate vehicle state estimation is required to realized the abovementioned systems and tire-friction coefficient is crucial information. Estimation of lateral tire-road friction coefficient using pneumatic trail information is mainly dealt in this paper. Pneumatic trail shows unique characteristics according to the wheel side slip angle and these property is highly sensitive to vehicle lateral motion. The proposed algorithm minimizes the use of conventional tire models such as magic formula, brushed tire model and Dugoff tire model. The pure side slip maneuver, which means no longitudinal dynamics, is assumed to achieve the ultimate goal of this paper. A simulation verification using Carsim and Simulink is performed and the results show the feasibility of the proposed algorithms.

국내 도로터널내 차량항력계수 관련 연구 (A Study on Vehicle Drag Coefficients in Domestic Road Tunnels)

  • 터널환기력 중 중요한 비중을 차지하고 있는 교통환기력을 추정하는데 있어서 항력계수는 중요한 설계인자이다. 현재 국내 도로터널 환기시스템 설계시 적용하고 있는 항력계수는 국내 차량특성을 고려하지 않은 외국자료의 인용, 폐색율 만에 기초하며 슬립스트리밍효과를 고려하지 않고 있는 문제를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 터널내 교통환기력의 정확한 추정에 목표를 두고 (1) 현재 운행 중인 국내차량 특성을 고려한 전면 투영면적를 추정하고, (2) 도로서비스 수준별 차량배치상황을 CFD분석하여 슬립스트림밍 효과를 분석하여 차량 1대당 저항계수인 $K_{blockage}$와 항력계수를 분석하였다.

  • Wheel-slip control systems are able to control the braking force more accurately and can be adapted to different vehicles more easily than conventional ABS systems. But, in order to achieve the superior braking performance through the wheel-slip control, real-time information such as the tire braking force is required. For example, in the case of EHB (Electro-Hydraulic Brake) systems, the tire braking force cannot be measured directly, but can be approximated based on the characteristics of the brake disk-pad friction. The friction characteristics can change significantly depending on aging of the brake, moisture on the contact area, heat etc. In this paper, a wheel slip The proposed wheel slip control system is composed of two subsystems: braking force monitor and robust slip controller In the brake force monitor subsystem, the tire braking forces as well as the brake disk-pad friction coefficient are estimated considering the friction variation between the brake pad and disk. The robust wheel slip control subsystem is designed based on sliding mode control methods and follows the target wheel-slip using the estimated tire braking forces. The proposed sliding mode controller is robust to the uncertainties in estimating the braking force and brake disk-pad friction. The performance of the proposed wheel-slip control system is evaluated in various simulations.

BF인증을 위한 바닥 마감재 미끄럼 성능기준 및 측정방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on Floor Slip Resistance Standard and Test Method for BF Certification)

  • Purpose: There are no clear criteria for slip performance in the BF certification process, so the evaluator relies on subjective judgments depending on the field situation. Physical criteria for determining the slip performance of various floor finishes are not clear. C.S.R., the only criterion currently being used to check slip performance, may raise questions about its coverage, feasibility and reliability. Method: For an analysis of domestic standards and status, KS L 1001, KS M 3510, and KS F 2375. External standards are analyzed for ADA Standard, ANSI Standard, and BS EN Standard. Analyze the test methods and evaluation criteria of O-Y-PSM, BPT, and the dynamic slip resistance test used in these criteria. It also presents an improvement plan for the rational presentation of standards. Results: To date, various kinds of test methods and measuring devices of the slip resistance coefficient have been developed, but there are not many ways to trust useful results related to user safety. Reliability and thoroughly verified test methods and criteria should be used to assess the slip performance of the floor. In order to improve the standard for the evaluation of slip performance in Korea, the existing standard should first be raised to the same level as the overseas standard, and the application of the discriminatory standard should be applied considering the characteristics and usage patterns of each space. Implication: Currently, Korean standards propose various test methods, but the proper use of test methods, scope and assessment criteria are not established, so improvement of the comprehensive standard is necessary.

다판 클러치방식 차동제한장치 개발을 위한 설계인자 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Design Parameters for Development of LSD)

  • A differential case equipped with LSD(limited slip differential) has several advantages over a normal type for rear wheel drive vehicles. Specially, the torque distribution can be done between left and right drive wheel in the state of limited slip differential. Also although LSD types are very various according to operating type, medium and torque distribution, a multi-clutch type is generally applied to rear wheel drive vehicles. So, this study presents the analysis of design parameters for development of a friction plate for multi-clutch type LSD using vehicle road test, the simulation of analytical model and the development of vehicle dynamics model by a benchmark product. According to this investigation, the design parameters which are pre-load of coil spring, friction plate and contact area quantity, friction coefficient and TBR(torque bias ratio) for a friction plate are derived from experiment and simulation and consequently, vehicle dynamics model has been constructed for the development of friction plate for multi-clutch type LSD.

항공기의 탄소 디스크 브레이크의 내마모성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Antiabrasion of the Aircraft Carbon Disk Brake)

  • ABS(Anti-skid Brake System) had been developed on purpose of most effect at breaking in limited runway. An aircraft has a large amount of kinetic energy on landing. When the brakes are applied, the kinetic energy of the aircraft is dissipated as heat energy in the brake disks between the tire and the ground. The optimum value of the slip during braking is the value at the maximum coefficient of friction. An anti-skid system should maintain the brake torque at a level corresponding to this optimum value of slip. This system is electric control system for brake control valve at effective control to prevent slip and wheel speed or speed ratio. In this study we measured the thickness of the carbon disk before and after to find its wear and it shows that carbon disk brake has higher stiffness and strength than metal disk at high temperature. In addition, thermal structural stability and appropriate frictional coefficient of the carbon disk brake prove its possible substitution of metal disk brake.

박용 디젤기관 캠-롤러 접촉부의 표면 상승 온도 (Flash Temperature of the Cam-Roller Contacting Surface in a Marine Diesel Engine)

  • The flash temperature of the cam-roller contacting surface for a marine diesel engine was analysed numerically. The elastohydrodynamic lubrication pressure and film thickness were adopted to get more accurate frictional coefficient, heat flux and temperature distribution. The maximum flash temperature was increased with both the increasing slip ratio of the contacting surfaces and increasing external load. This study tells that the temperature analysis is an indispensable procedure in designing elastohydrodynamic lubrication contacts on which the slip occurs.

마찰을 고려한 차량 동력전달계의 Stick-Slip 현상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stick-Slip Phenomenon of the Driveline System of a Vehicle in Consideration of Friction)

  • This paper discusses the stick-slip phenomenon of the driveline system of a vehicle in consideration of friction. Friction is operated on the between of flywheel and clutch disk. The expressions for obtaining the results have been derived from the equation of motion of a three degree of freedom frictional torsion vibration system which is made up driving part(engine, flywheel), driven part(clutch, transmission) and dynamic load part(vehicle body) by applying forth-order Rungekutta method. It was found that the great affect parameters of the stick-slip or stick motion were surface pressure force between flywheel and clutch disk, time decay parameter of surface pressure force and 1st torsional spring constant of clutch disk when driveline system had been affected by friction force. The results of this study can be used as basic design data of the clutch system for the ride quality improvement of a car.

평행링크형 발가락을 갖는 4족 보행로봇 발의 비평탄 지면 착지 성능 (Landing Performance of a Quadruped Robot Foot Having Parallel Linked Toes on Uneven Surface)

  • In this study, a robot foot having toes for firm stepping on uneven surface is proposed. The toes are connected to the lower leg by parallel links so that the lower leg can rotate in the rolling and pitching directions during stance phase without ankle joint. The landing performance of the foot on uneven surface was evaluated by relative comparison with that of the most common foot making point contact with the walking surface, since the test conditions considering real uneven surface could be hardly defined for its objective evaluation. Anti-slip margin(ASM) was defined in this study to express the slip resistance of a robot foot when it lands on a projection with half circular-, triangular- or rectangular cross section, assuming that uneven surface consists of projections having these kind of cross sections in different sizes. Based on the ASM analysis, the slip conditions for the two feet were experimentally confirmed. The results showed that the slip resistance of the new foot is not only higher than that of the conventional point contact type foot but also less sensitive to the surface friction coefficient.

작업장 바닥 소재와 상태에 따른 지게차 미끄럼 거리 측정 (Slip Distance of Forklift Depending upon floor Materials and Conditions of Worksite)

  • The accidents attributed to the forklift have increased as the number of the forklift increases. It is significant that most of the accidents were fatal. This study investigated slip distance of forklift depending upon the floor materials and their conditions in industrial site. For doing this, an experiment was conducted, in which the floor materials and their conditions were adopted as independent variables and the slip distance as dependent variable. Six floor materials included asphalt concrete, two color hardener mortar, epoxy paint and deluxe tile. Two types of floor conditions, wet and dry, were used in the experiment. The results showed that the slip distance was shorter on the asphalt and concrete floors than on other floors, and that the distance on the wet floor was six times longer than that on the dry condition. Based on this result, it is recommended that as in the advanced countries, the regulation or standard on the floor conditions such as friction coefficient be established for reducing forklift relevant accidents.
