Stable lateral-shearing interferometer for in-line inspection of aspheric pick-up lenses (생산 라인에서의 광 Pick-up용 비구면 대물 렌즈 측정을 위한 안정된 층밀리기 간섭계)

  • Aspheric pick-up lenses are increasingly used in consumer products such as computer and multimedia, as their mass production has become possible owing to the injection molding process. However still much work needs to be done for more effective manufacture of aspheric lenses, one area of which is the in-line inspection of produced lenses. In this paper, we present a lateral-shearing interferometer that has specially been designed to have a high immunity to external vibration and atmospheric disturbance. The interferometer comprises four prisms. They are directly attached to each other using an immersion oil so that relative sliding motions between the prisms are allowed. Their relative displacement can readily generate necessary lateral-shearing and phase-shifting to determine the wavefront of the beam collimated by the lens under inspection. A special phase-measuring algorithm of arbitrary-bucket is adopted to compensate the phase-shifting error caused by the thickness reduction in the immersion oil. Zernike polynomial fitting has done for determinating quantitative aberration of aspheric pick-up lenses. The interferometer built in this work is robust to external mechanical vibration and atmospheric disturbance so that experimental results show that it has a repeatability of less than λ/100.

Program Development for Wideband Channel Sounding and Analysis (광대역 채널 측정 및 분석을 위한 프로그램 개발)

  • In this paper, a program that can be utilized to measure and analyze radio propagation characteristics is developed. This program is able to control the measurement instruments including spectrum analyzer through GPIB interface and analyze the measured data to yield mean excess delay and RMS delay spread. The measured path loss can be compared with theoretical value in free space or inside a tunnel. The measured and analyzed results can also be presented in the forms of graphs. As these tasks can be conducted on the spot of the measurements, this program is very helpful in performing and verifying the measurements immediately. In this thesis radio propagation characteristics with frequency bands of 2.45 and 5.8GHz in subway tunnels are measured by using the program. Path loss and delay spread in subway tunnel is measured and compared according to the form of antenna beam and LOS(Line of Sight) and N-LOS(Non-Line of Sight).

  • 대형 구조물의 진동제어를 위하여 MR 유체 댐퍼를 사용한 반능동 제어기법에 대하여 연구하였다. 기존에 많이 사용되고 있는 수동제어기법은 일단 제어장치를 설치한 후에는 구조물에 실제로 작용하고 있는 외부 하중의 현재 특성에 대해서 적절히 반응할 수 없다는 제한을 가지고 있으며, 이를 극복하기 위하여 연구되어온 능동제어기법은 구조물이 진동을 감소시키기 위하여 구조물에 직접적으로 가해지는 커다란 제어력을 요구하며, 이로 인해 경우에 따라서는 불안정한 상태가 유발될 수도 있다는 점이 단점으로 지적되고 있다. 최근에 Spencer 등은 반능동 제어기법을 제안하였는데, 이는 수동제어장치의 제어특성을 On-Line 으로 조절하는 방식으로서 제어 가능한 수동제어기법으로도 불리운다. 구조물의 진동제어에 필요한 제어력이, 특수한 제어기구에서 발생되는 인위적인 힘이 아니라, 적절한 구조부재에서 발생되는 자연적인 부재력이므로, 무엇보다 강인하고 신뢰할 수 있는 제어기법이며, 이때 제어장치의 구조적 특성을, 측정된 구조물의 응답에 맞추어 적절히 조절함으로써 다양한 외부하중에 대해 보다 효율적인 제어가 이루어질 수 있도록 한 방법이다. 반능동제어를 위한 제어기로서는 Variable Orifice Dampers, Friction Controllable Isolators, Variable Stiffness Devices, Electro-Rheological (ER) Fluid Damper, Magneto-Rheological(MR) Fluid Damper등이 제안되고 있으며, 본 논문에서는 반응속도가 빠르고, 적은 파워만을 요구하며, 커다란 제어력을 낼 수 있는 MR Damper를 사용하여 지진하중을 받는 구조물의 반능동 제어게 대하여 연구하였다. MR Damper의 특성이 비선형이므로 이에 적합한 Sliding Mode Fuzzy Control(SMFC)기법을 사용하였으며 이때 SMFC 의 최적 설계를 위하여 Genetic Algorithm을 적용하였다. 제안된 제어기법의 실제 적용성을 검증하기 위하여 기존이 제어결과와 비교 검토하였으며, 그 결과로부터 MR Damper를 사용한 반능동 제어기법이 구조물의 진동제어에 매우 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents modal analysis and mean conveying velocity (M.C.V.) control of bowl parts feeder activated by piezoactuators. Bowl parts feeders are being widely used in many industry fields for automatic assembly line. In general, the electromagnet has been and being used as exciting actuator of these vibratory bowl feeders. However, because of complexity of its mechanism and limited capability of the electromagnet actuator, there exist various impending problems such as severe noise, nonlinear motion of parts, passive characteristics and so forth. As one of solutions for these problems, piezoelectric actuators as new actuating technology have been proposed recently to excite the bowl parts feeder. In this paper, modal analysis of the proposed model has been performed to examine the modal characteristics of the model by using commercial FEM software and modeling with respects to MCV is constructed. Finally, MCV of the parts is to be controlled to track the desired one with PID controller.

  • Load modeling has a significant influence on power system analysis and control. In recent years, measurement-based load modeling has been widely practiced. In the load modeling algorithm, the model structure is determined and the parameters of the established model are estimated. For parameter estimation, least-squares optimization method is applied. The model parameters are estimated so that the error between the measured values and the predicted values is to be minimized. By introducing sliding window concept, on-line load modeling method can be performed which reflects the dynamic behaviors of loads in real-time. For the purpose of data acquisition, the measurement system including PMU is implemented in university level. In this paper, case studies are performed using real PMU data from Korea Univ. and Seoul National University of Science and Technology. The performances of modeling real and reactive power behaviors using exponential and ZIP load model are evaluated.

Design, Control and Localization of Underwater Mine Disposal Robots (수중 기뢰 제거 로봇의 설계, 제어 및 위치 추정)

  • This paper describes the design, control, and localization which comprise major aspects of the development of underwater robots for the mine disposal. The developed robots are called the Mine Killer (MK-1) and MK-2. MK-1 had been developed from September 2009 and was presented at the 9-th International Symposium at NPS Monterey CA, on May 17-21, 2010[1]. The paper presents design of MK-1 and MK-2 in detail with comparison of these two versions of MKs. Then it derives hydrodynamic coefficients of MK-1. Based on the coefficients, the motion of MK-1 is simulated for straight line motion and circular motion. Also simulation results for PD control, LQ control and sliding mode control are presented. Finally, it shows a particle filter method for localization of MK-1 and MK-2 using simple range data from acoustic beacons.

  • This study develops an automatic berthing control algorithm for ships with a bow thruster and a stern thruster as well as a rudder. A nonlinear mathematical model for low speed maneuvering of ships is used to develop a MIMO(multi-input multi-output) nonlinear control algorithm. The algorithm consists of two parts, which are forward velocity control and heading angle control. The control algorithm is designed based on the longitudinal and yaw dynamic models of ships. The desired heading angle is obtained by the so called "Line of Sight" method. An optimal control force allocation method of the rudder and the thrusters is suggested. The nonlinear control algorithms are tested by numerical simulations using MATLAB, and shows good tracking performances.

Wear and Operation Characteristics of Acetal and Nylon Pinion Against Steel Gear (아세탈과 나일론피니언의 마멸 및 운전특성에 관한 고찰)

  • Wear and operation characteristics of Nylon and Acetal pinion against steel gear were studied to gain a better understanding of their tribological and mechanical behavior. Tests were conducted with power circulating gear test rig under unlubricated conditions. Specific wear rates were measured as a function of applied load and total revolution. The worn tooth surfaces were examined with a profile projector and camera. Nylon pinion showed lower specific wear rates than Acetal pinion, but it revealed breakage at high load. Principal wear depths were developed at tooth tip and below the pitch line of pinion. Life estimation for the Nylon pinion was made by taking into account steel gear equivalent Hertz stress and average sliding velocity. The dominant wear mechanisms were adhesion and abrasion.

A Study on the Plan Composition of Public Toilet in Chung Nam Area (충남지역 공중화장실의 평면구성에 관한 연구)

  • This thesis analyzed the uniqueness of a toilet plane structure, centering on a case of Beautiful Public Toilet Construction Project under a project by Chungcheongnam-do and drew a conclusion as followings. Most of public toilets, constructed under a project by Chungcheongnam-do, were located in remains, tourist resorts, parks, and the outskirts of traditional markets. They were constructed at the selected location within an easy access of most user and plane structure was also designed so that the persons, in charge of management and maintenance, and the users could use them without difficulty. But some public toilets didn't establish the handicaps' toilet or made them difficult to sue due to location or size. The plane structure style was various such as a rectangular, stream line, or circle in accordance with location or building size. A circle-styled toilet offered a good view but didn't offer a good access or an effective space for users. In addition, when a handicapped person enters a toilet, he or she has to enter or go out of it through a sliding dor. So a constructor has to make progress of a work in accordance with this point.

  • Scour means the erosion of bed material by flow change when a bridge is constructed in a stream. Scour is one of the critical factors of a bridge failure. There are several methods for the monitoring of scour near bridge foundations; Sounding rods, Magnetic sliding collar System, Sonar system, underwater camera system and so on. In general, Sonar system is preferred due to its convenience and good accuracy. In this study, the new scour monitoring system was developed using profiling sonar sensor. The new system can measure a line profile of a seabed and has small size due to the effectively designed data logger. The performance of the new scour monitoring system was evaluated at a bridge pier in tidal environment. The measured local scour depths were discussed with the result of the empirical formulas; CSU, Froehlich, Laursen and Neill.
