  • This paper describes extraction procedure for the center coordinates of steam generator tubes of Youngkwang NPP #6, which are arrayed in triangular patterns. Steam generator tube images taken with wide field-of-view lens and low-light lamp mounted on a ccd camera tend to have low contrast, because steam generator is sealed and poorly illuminated. The extraction procedures consists of two steps. The first step is to process the region with superior contrast in entire image of steam generator tubes and to extract the center points. Using the extracted coordinates in the first step and the geometrical array characteristics of tubes lined up in regular triangle forms, the central points of the rest region with low contrast are estimated. The straight lines from center point of a tube to neighbour points in horizontal and 60, 120$^{\circ}$ degree directions are derived. The intersections of straight line In horizontal direction and slant line in regular triangle direction are selected as the center coordinates of steam generator tubes. The Chi-square interpolation method is used to determine the line's coefficients in horizontal and regular triangle direction.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm that obtains the surfac eorientation of the texture image using structural approaches. The proposed method showed that structural approaches can be effectively used in 3-D analysis of textures as well as description and segmentation without additional information. By examining fourier power spectrum of the texture image, we detemine the tilt of the textured surface. Then, 1-D projection information of the texture in the obtained tilt direction is used to compute the slant. Using the obtained information, we can compute the vanishing point, and rearrange the textured surface with lines converging to the vanishing point and lines perpendicular to the tilt direction. In the experimental results, we have ascertained the proposed algorithm can make a rpecise 3-D analysis of structural textures.

  • In this paper, we designed and fabricated an input-output coupler system using two or three volume gratings at 632.8nm wavelength. The additional third grating is added at the output coupler to enhance the overall efficiency. The experimental results show that the total system throughput reaches 63% with two-grating and 75% with three-grating input-output coupler. We also present a design method to obtain the desired output power ratio between the gratings.

  • The power source of inverter welder stable power of low voltage and high current. Because if shouldn't be, it is caused to spark between the parent metal and the peak. So that, we designed to be base on high frequency transformer and reactor of DC part. Then, we optimized control of PWM, current rising slant, voltage, current, pulse current and inverter out-put voltage. Also we designed PCB for EMI and noises.

  • The stress intensity factors have been widely used in numerical studies of crack growth direction. However in many cases, omissive terms of the series expansion are quantitatively significant, so we consider the computation of such terms. For this purpose, we used the finite element method with isoparametric quadratic quarter-point elements. For examples, infinite square plate with a slant crack subjected to a uniaxial load is analyzed. The numerical analysis were performed for the wide range of crack tip element lengths and inclined angles. The numerical results obtained are compared with the theoretical solutions. Also they were accurate and efficient.

  • This paper presents a technique to detect a document skew that often occurs during document scanning. To correct a skewed document is essential for automatic processing system including character segmentation, character recognition and so on. The proposed algorithm can detect a skew angle exactly by searching characters baselines that have slant information of the document within a candidated area. To reduce processing time, we resized the image small and then established a ROI (region of interest) by morphology operations and connected components analysis. We compared our method with the existing method based on morphology operations and proved correctness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm through experiments and analysis with various kind of document images.

  • Description in this paper is a system for new range measurement method between an aircraft and runway with circular mark in landing runway. The system includes an altimeter and a camera installed on the aircraft, and a circular mark placed on a landing runway. The camera installed on the aircraft must be oriented toward in front of the aircraft, and configured to detect the shape of the circular mark in image information form and a flight control computer configured to calculate the angle between the aircraft and the ground, the ground range between the aircraft and the circular mark, and the slant range between the aircraft and the circular mark with the altitude information measured by the altimeter. This system configured to control the automatic landing of the aircraft with this information.

  • The traditional face detection method is to use difference picture method are used to detect movement. However, most do not consider this mathematical approach using real-time or real-time implementation of the algorithm is complicated, not easy. This paper, the first to detect real-time facial image is converted YCbCr and RGB video input. Next, you convert the difference between video images of two adjacent to obtain and then to conduct Glassfire Labeling. Labeling value compared to the threshold behavior Area recognizes and converts video extracts. Actions to convert video to conduct face detection, and detection of facial characteristics required for the extraction and use of AdaBoost algorithm.

  • The FEM analysis of machine tools is the general analysis process to evaluate machine performance in the industry for a long time. Despite advances in FEM software, because of difficult simplicity of CAD drawing, little experience of joints stiffness modeling and troublesome manual contact area divide for bindings, the industry designers think the FEM analysis is still an area of FEM analysis expert. In this paper, the automation of modeling process with simplicity of drawing, modeling of joints and contact area divide is aimed at easy FEM analysis to enlarge utilization of a virtual machine tools. In order to verify the effects of modeling automation, a slant bed type model with tilting table is analyzed. The results show FEM modeling automation method only needed 45 minutes to complete the whole modeling process, while manual modeling method requires almost one month with 8200 calculations for coordinate transformations and stiffness data input.

  • In this paper, we develope a defect inspection method for each buttons of keypad of cellular phones before they are assembled. The proposed algorithm consists of the similar color checking and its classification, font error detection, and scratch detection based on the segmentation of keypad area and font, translation and rotation processing sequentially. Especially, the proposed segmentation method approximate the pad region as B-spline function to deal with illumination change due to the shape of key button with the slant and curved surface followed by simple thresholding. And also, the rotational information is obtained by using eigen value and eigen vector very fast and effectively. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is good when it is applied to in-line process.
