Evaluation on Slam Resistance of Door Plate Module Using Vibration Testing Method (가진 시험 방법을 활용한 자동차 도어 플레이트 모듈 슬램 내구 평가)

  • Slam testing is a mandatory testing process to evaluate the fatigue resistance of a door plate module before delivering it to car makers. This process is very hard job to complete it since the testing facilities are considerably expensive and the required testing time is relatively very long, i.e. more than eight days for a single specimen. In this paper, an accelerated testing method of a door plate module is proposed using vibration test equipment instead of the current one by exposing to the critical excitation of a door glass. Under the proposed excitation method, the similar testing result can be evaluated within less than two hours. The suitability of the proposed testing method was demonstrated by comparing failure modes of both the current testing method and the proposed one.

  • We studied the resolution enhancement of a novel scanning laser acoustic microscope (SLAM) using transverse waves. Mode conversion of the ultrasonic wave takes place at the liquid-solid interface and some energy of the insonifying longitudinal waves in the water will convert to transverse wave energy within the solid specimen. The resolution of SLAM depends on the size of detecting laser spot and the wavelength of the insonifying ultrasonic waves. Science the wavelength of the transverse wave is shorter than that of the longitudinal wave, we are able to achieve the high resolution by using transverse waves. In order to operate SLAM in the transverse wave mode, we made wedge for changing the incident angle. Our experimental results with model 2140 SLAM and an aluminum specimen showed higher contrast of the SLAM image in the transverse wave mode than that in the longitudinal wave mode.

  • A computer simulation model for optimum design and determination of optimal operational parameter values for modern container terminal systems was developed through the use of GASP-IV, a subset of SLAM. Input data reflecting current system configuration and operational practices at Pusan container terminal was used to test the model, which resulted in its validation. Possibilities for application of the model in areas of candidate system comparisons, operational parameter testing and forecasting operational performance under future traffic situations, are explained.

  • In this paper, we introduce the software/hardware system that can reliably calculate the distance from sensor to the model regardless of point cloud density. As the 3d point cloud map is widely adopted for SLAM and computer vision, the accuracy of point cloud map is of great importance. However, the 3D point cloud map obtained from Lidar may reveal different point cloud density depending on the choice of sensor, measurement distance and the object shape. Currently, when measuring map accuracy, high reflective bands are used to generate specific points in point cloud map where distances are measured manually. This manual process is time and labor consuming being highly affected by Lidar sparsity level. To overcome these problems, this paper presents a hardware design that leverage high intensity point from three planar surface. Furthermore, by calculating distance from sensor to the device, we verified that the automated method is much faster than the manual procedure and robust to sparsity by testing with RGB-D camera and Lidar. As will be shown, the system performance is not limited to indoor environment by progressing the experiment using Lidar sensor at outdoor environment.

Object Detection of AGV in Manufacturing Plants using Deep Learning (딥러닝 기반 제조 공장 내 AGV 객체 인식에 대한 연구)

  • In this research, the accuracy of YOLO v3 algorithm in object detection during AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) operation was investigated. First of all, AGV with 2D LiDAR and stereo camera was prepared. AGV was driven along the route scanned with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) using 2D LiDAR while front objects were detected through stereo camera. In order to evaluate the accuracy of YOLO v3 algorithm, recall, AP (Average Precision), and mAP (mean Average Precision) of the algorithm were measured with a degree of machine learning. Experimental results show that mAP, precision, and recall are improved by 10%, 6.8%, and 16.4%, respectively, when YOLO v3 is fitted with 4000 training dataset and 500 testing dataset which were collected through online search and is trained additionally with 1200 dataset collected from the stereo camera on AGV.

Durability Prediction of Door W/H System Using FEM Analysis (전면 도어 와이어하니스 시스템의 내구 수명 예측에 관한 연구)

  • In vehicle's door wiring harness (W/H) system is more toward to arrange a passenger compartment than a hinge and a weatherstrip. An opening/closing member of a vehicle is attached to a vehicle by a hinge in a manner enabling easy opening and closing of the opening/closing member. Such members include doors, such as side-doors and rear doors, and other opening/closing members, such as trunk lids. This article gives some insight into the dimensioning process, with special focus on large deflection analysis of wiring harness(W/H) in vehicle's door structures for durability problem. The Finite elements analysis for door wiring harness(W/H) is used for residual stresses and dimensional stability with bending flexible. Durability test data for slam test specimens were compared with the numerical predicted fatigue life for verification. The final testing of the component combines the effects of these microstructural features with the complex stress state arising from the combined service loading and residual stresses.
