디지털 이미지 처리를 통한 천공상태 분석 (Sky Condition Analysis using the Processing of Digital Images)

  • The accurate analysis of the outside sky conditions is necessary to increase the efficiency of blind PV system. To conduct the accurate analysis, this paper suggested a method to analyze the sky condition using a specific image processing technique. While a fisheye lens has a wide field-of-views, it causes a large distortion to the sky images. Therefore, this paper calculated the exchange ratio of sky images to consider a lens distortion. As results of the study, there was a difference of 7% to cloud area ratio F4 and F11. Also, it had a different result depending on the position of the cloud.

  • Sky-bridges between adjacent buildings can enhance lateral stiffness and limit the impact of lateral forces. This study analysed the structural capabilities and dynamic performances of sky-bridge-coupled buildings under various sets of ground motions. Finite Element (FE) analyses were carried out with the link being iteratively repositioned along the full height of the structures. Incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) and probabilistic damage distribution were also applied. The results indicated that the establishment of sky-bridges caused a slight change in the natural frequency and mode shapes. The sky-bridge system was shown to be efficient in controlling displacement and Inter-Storey Drift Ratio (%ISDR) and reducing the probability of damage in the higher floors. The most efficient location of the sky-bridge, for improving its rigidity, was found to be at 88% of the building height. Finally, the effects of two types of materials (steel and concrete) and end conditions (hinged and fixed) were studied. The outcomes showed that coupled buildings with a sky-bridge made of steel with hinged connection could withstand ground motions longer than those made of concrete with fixed connection.

  • 천공커버법칙은 기상청에서 제공하는 전운량을 활용하여 천공 상태를 결정할 수 있으며, HCI(Hourly Clearness Index) 방법은 측정된 태양의 수평 일사량을 이용하여 천공 상태를 결정한다. HCI 방법에는 Erbs et al. 방법(1982)과 Orgill and Holland 방법(1977) 등이 있으나, 이와 같은 기존의 방법은 약 30여 년전에 수립된 것으로 현재의 대기 상황과 다소 다르기 때문에 실제 전운량에 의한 천공 상태와 차이를 보인다. 본 연구의 목적은 HCI에 의한 천공 구분 방법을 개선하고자 하는데 있으며, 이에 기상청 데이터를 이용한 천공커버법칙에 의한 천공상태와 측정된 수평 일사량을 이용한 HCI의 천공상태를 비교 분석하여 기존 HCI 방법의 시간별 보정 방법을 제안하였다. 그 결과, 보정된 HCI 방법이 기존의 HCI 방법에 비해 천공별 유사성이 다소 향상되었다.

Optimum Control of a Photoelectric Dimming System in a Small Office with a Double Skin Envelope

  • A photoelectric dimming control system for a small private office space with a double skin envelope system was analyzed for the purpose of examining optimum control performances under a variety of daylight conditions. Computer simulations were performed for the three different photosensor types positioned at the center of ceiling in the space. They were applied in both a south and north-facing room. Daylight conditions were a fixed horizontal venetian blind on an external envelope and a retractable shading device on an internal envelope under a clear, intermediate and overcast sky at different times of a day and year. Partially-shielded photosensors provided good control performances providing the required electric light output under clear and intermediate sky conditions. Unshielded photosensors failed to provide necessary illuminance levels producing less electric output and fully-shielded photosensors generally provided excessive light output. Reasonable electric lighting energy savings were achieved except under overcast sky conditions where the control system did not contribute to energy savings due to the less daylight through envelopes. The retractable shading device covering 50% of the internal envelope reduced energy savings up to 19.62%, but the workplane illuminance levels were maintained within recommended ranges. The coefficients of determination between workplane illuminance and photosensor illuminance due to daylight ranged from 0.74 to 0.98. Partially-shielded conditions provided best correlations and the north-facing room yielded stronger correlation than the south-facing room.

편측창에서 창개구부의 형상이 천공상태별 채광성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Different Fenestration Configurations on Daylighting Performance in Unilateral Window under Clear and Overcast Sky Conditions)

  • Daylighting provides the opportunity for both energy savings and improved visual comfort. An accurate estimation of the amount of daylight entering a building is the key step for daylight designing. This research aims to assess comparative daylighting performance of four different configurations of fenestration in case of unilateral windows and their variation under clear and overcast sky conditions. The selected window openings in this study were single punched, double punched, multiple punched and clerestory, and the area was same for each type of window. The experiment was designed for an office space using 1/10 scale model. Daylighting performance was evaluated by measuring the illuminance on work-plane height using Agilent data logger and photometric sensor Li-Cor. Thecomputer program ECOTECT was also used to simulate the pattern of interior illuminance distribution. Clerestory window showed the best performance in term of both illuminance level and distribution in the experiment. Multiple punched window provided more uniform illuminance distribution than single punched window. Lowest daylighting performance in the experiment was shown by double punched window.

  • Artificial lighting contributes greatly to developing civilizations. It allows daytime activities to continue throughout the dark hours of the day and thus increasing work productivity as well as allowing people to enjoy nighttime activities. In addition, artificial lighting is used to beautify landscapes, architectural monuments, and thus highlighting the social-economic development of a given place. However, excessive and improper usage of artificial lighting can lead to light pollution. Light pollution is a serious issue that is detrimental to human health. It has been linked to a number of health conditions including sleep disorder, visual discomfort as well as cancer. The effects of light pollution extend throughout the entire ecosystem, affecting both plants and animals. Furthermore, sky-glow from light pollution hinders astronomical observation. The current paper presents a study conducted on lit environment of a nightscape. The quality of the sky was measured in 144 spots using Sky Quality Meter (SQM) devices. The measured spots were chosen on the basis of land use as well as distance from the Halla Mountain.

겨울 야간 하늘에 노출된 평판에 의한 복사냉각 실험 (Nocturnal Radiant Cooling during the Winter by the Plate Viewing the Sky)

  • The radiant cooling(RC) effects are studied during the winter night. The plate was viewing the nighttime sky. The data were collected at the rooftop of the Engineering building at the Dongguk University in Seoul, Korea. As observed during the summer night, the plate temperature was lower than ambient temperature under the RC favorable conditions. The parameters under study are the wind velocity, cloud index, and visibility for given system size and surface condition. The results follow the same tendency with these parameters as observed from the previous study for the summer night. As long as the wind velocity is less than around 2 m/s, the radiant cooling was observed with the system under study. In some cases, the radiant cooling temperature differences (RCTD) are higher than those for the summer night. The larger the RCTD as the wind velocity decreases and as the sky becomes clear.

청천공 조건에서 조광제어 시스템 적용시 조도변화에 대한 시각적 만족도 분석 (The Influence of Illuminance Variation by a Daylight Dimming Control System on Visual Comfort Under Clear Sky Conditions)

  • This study examines the influence of light variation on visual responses in a small office space where a daylight dimming control system is applied. Field measurements and survey were performed in a full-scale mocked-up small office space under clear sky day conditions. Maximum fluctuation range for desktop was 133.5 lx and it just happened once for entire monitoring period. For the majority of time, the fluctuation range did not exceed 50 lx, which did not cause visual discomfort to subjects. The daylight dimming control system successfully kept required illuminance levels for an office environment when desktop illuminance by daylight ranged up to 300 lx. The most serious contributor to the sensation of glare was direct daylight through window. The dimming of electric light was not a significant contributor to visual discomfort for the subjects under clear sky day conditions. Visual comfort was significantly influenced by the sensation of glare, feeling for visual stimulation and distraction, and required illuminance level.

  • Illuminance and luminous levels in a small office space due to daylight were calculated to analyze the impact of daylight on contrast and lighting energy savings. Computer simulations were performed for four blind conditions under a clear sky condition. The blind conditions significantly impacted the illuminance an4 luminance level. Visual performance scores were calculated according to the transfer function that uses absolute contrast between target and background surface. The blind condition that had 45 tilted angle toward ground provided good contrast and performance scores. Using a control algorithm of an automated daylight dimming control system lighting energy sayings were predicted. For all blind conditions minimum lighting energy was consumed.

  • This research on building Integrated Photovoltaic System replacing windows and doors with amorphous silicon thin film PV windows and doors installing same exact mount on Mock-up. The windows and doors should be installed in different angle and bearing so that we can analyse the amount of electricity from them. The objective of the research is to evaluate and investigate the relationship between factors(intensity of solar radiation, PV window surface temporature, incidence angle, and sky conditions) that affects performance of PV window and performance. The range and method of this research is to establish mornitoring system and analysis the date from the mornitoring system to evaluate the performance of PV windows that has thin film of solar battery. We should evaluate the insolation according to the position of PV window, output, and surface temperature according to months and seasons so that we can figure out the relationship between these. And we should investigate the relationship between performance and efficiency according to incidence angle and sky condition so that we can figure out the correlation between factors and performance.
