The purpose of this research is to identify the differences in appearance satisfaction, self-esteem and the feeling of happiness according to the demographic variables of teenagers. The conclusion of this research indicate that appearance satisfaction has significant impacts on the self-esteem and the feelings of happiness for adolescence. Teenage students who attend vocational schools get more Allowances than students who attend general high schools, and those who have parents with lower education level also get more Allowances. But the higher the economic standard and grades the students have, the more self-esteem and the feelings of happiness they possess. Thus, the students who attend general high schools have higher self-esteems and feelings of happiness than those in vocational schools. Additionally, the students who have higher economic standards and parents with better'- education levels show more appearance satisfactions for their face, skin and body. Therefore, the level of appearance satisfaction according to the types of school, economic standards, amount of Allowances and parents' education level is an important variable, which can also affect the self-esteem and the feelings of happiness. Teenagers' appearance satisfaction have a significant impact for determining the level of self-esteem and the feeling of happiness.

To find suitable color for an individual is very important in personal image-making. In recent years, the importance and role of personal image is also more emphasized. This study deals with the necessity d personal color system and the proposal of color which looks nice on a person as a result d personal color system. It also includes the method of making personal image by balancing between and using both favorite color and unfavorite color. Besides, I study how does the color image affect the personal appearance image in this paper. From clinical experiments, I concluded as follow. First, Each person has his suitable color. When the color is used, the color, pimples, flows and so on are covered and defects of his face are made up for. Second, By changing the factors of his own original color-group and decision factors - color d skin, hair, eye, etc -, I can change personal color-group. Third, The image of color affects the personal appearance image, when it used in make-up and hair-color. Considering above results, If one uses one's suitable color, one will complement defects done's face and improve merits of one's. Besides, One will be more confident and active by using one's suitable color.

Black has been the most important color of all since the ancient times when the recognition of black roused, as well as during most of the eras; and can especially be said as the main color which controlled the chronicles of fashion. The purpose of the study was to broaden the application of black color image make-up by inquiring into make-up design elemental characteristics of lines and textures, after classifying magazine illustrations and advertisement make-up images using black. The photos which made effective use of black among fashion illustrations, magazine advertisements after 2001 were classified in to each type, and make-up expression method and characteristics according to design element of each image type was analyzed. The conclusion of such study was the following. 'Erotic image' showed contrast effect between eye make-up and lip color by using pale tone or red color. 'Mannish image' emphasized form and texture of eyebrow by restraining the colors of eyelids with natural brown tone eye make-up; 'Modern image' expressed vague eyebrow to bring the sensation of the direction of eye shadow on eyelids and eye line as well as slant line to relief. 'Kitsch image' showed free and light imagery by creating unique hair style with various colors; expressing lips mostly with colors similar to skin tone or by restraining colors on lips. 'Decadence image' showed messy and foul sensation with unstandardized eye make-up and matt skin of shimmer, glossy and pale tone, also with black colored lips; 'Retro image' expressed reinterpretation of images from 1920${\sim}$1960 to contemporary styles.

The study has sought to explore how fashion emerges as a comprehensive tool of dress for increasing its brand appeal and express one's artistic sense and fashion by using everything from make-up to hair to trappings. Therefore, when it comes to fashion trends reflected in collections, the study is designed to improve understanding of make-up as one of the elements of total fashion and to help create diverse ideas in expressing creative and free make-up that can help perfect fashion concept in harmony with all the other elements. The study has pondered upon collection, trends and fashion make-up through literature study, and has gathered image data via the Internet. It also has conducted analysis of Ethnic style reconstructed combining past and the future, East and the West, and futurism style using asymmetrical forms without no defined patterns and hi-tech textures, which emerges as a result of post-modernism. The results of the study are as follows. Ethnic fashion that pursues strange and exotic beauty is characterized by its simple and idyllic images of traditional costume in Asia or primitive clothes in Africa. Make-up represent images of matt and pale skin, tanned yellow, glossy and thickly powered squeaky white skin. Point make-up highlighted eye lines, red chick, small and voluptuous red lips. Hair and accessory seeks diversity combining various ethnic styles together such as oriental, Indian, Islam and Africa. In addition, future-oriented fashion of the 21st century, twists in texture, various kinds of materials and changes in technique help give impressions of freedom and bizarreness.

To investigate the natural cosmetic ingredients of Benincasa hispida seed extract on skin care, we measured anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory, and whitening effect. DPPH free radical scavenging activity was increased in a dose-dependent manner. The total phenolic content was higher in methanol extract (22.42±0.002 mgGAE/g) than water extract (9.77±0.002 mgGAE/g). MTT assay was demonstrated that the seed extract did not have a cytotoxic effect in RAW264.7 and B16F10 cell lines. We also examined to find out the inhibitory activity on NO production and secretion of TNF-α cytokine in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells. In B16F10 melanoma cells, the seed extract significantly suppressed α-MSH induced melanin synthesis. Furthermore, westernblot analysis revealed that methanol extract dramatically downregulated the expression level of MITF, TRP-1 and TRP-2. Taken together, the B. hispida seed extract posses anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin whitening activities, which might provided its functional efficacy in cosmetic materials.

As recent domestic cosmetics market has grown rapidly, many people have become interested in skin care. Therefore, this study aims at examining the job satisfaction of experts currently working in beauty industry by conducting a survey on the job esteem and satisfaction of estheticians who are the major professional group in skin care related occupations. The survey was carried out targeting at 289 current estheticians in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and as a result, most of the respondents showed a high level of job esteem (M=3.81). However, there was a significant difference in 'fair treatment' by male and female, and 'relative superiority' by educational background (p<.o1). The job satisfaction showed a high satisfaction as M=3.34 and there were significant differences in working hours, positions and salaries. As the level of self-esteem and job esteem became higher, job satisfaction on occupational consciousness increased. Therefore, it is judged that improving social awareness that evaluates job values and having positive values for one's job will help improve the job performance by enhancing the job satisfaction of estheticians.

This study compared antioxidant activity through DPPH radical scavenging activity of broccoli extract, low temperature (5℃ or less), and high temperature (50℃ or higher) storage conditions. As a result of the experiment, high DPPH radical scavenging activity of 95.5% was confirmed at 1% concentration of broccoli extract, and antioxidant power was maintained at a high level even under storage conditions due to temperature changes. Even cream containing 5% broccoli extract has been confirmed to maintain safety and stability in both preparation stability, discoloration and odor change, pH, and primary adhesion tests. Through these studies, it has been confirmed that broccoli extract is a safe and effective cosmetic material for the skin through high antioxidant activity and antioxidant power maintenance due to temperature changes.

This study analyzed the factors related to the job satisfaction and turnover rate of students in the skin care contract department, and suggested ways to enhance long-term employee retention. Frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using the SPSS statistical program and based on the survey data of 260 skin care contract students. The main results were as follows. First, contract students had high job satisfaction because of sufficient in-service training during the internship and also received the authority to perform the job duties of their positions. Second, the regular technical education for the job of contract students gave them confidence in job performance and job confidence, which led to long-term employee retention. Third, contractual students' turnover was reduced by applying compensation such as incentives, awards, and promotion opportunities in accordance with their work performance. Therefore, the results of the study suggest that compensation based on job performance, and the confidence in job performance of skin care contract students, can lead to increased job satisfaction, a reduced turnover rate and better long-term employee retention.

Objectives : In this study, Folium Perillae were examined the possibility to apply as the cosmetics natural materials. Methods : Normal skin softener containing Folium Perillae extracts was manufactured and then its physiological activities function was experimented on. And emollient lotion containing Folium Perillae extracts was manufactured and then it was left under the condition of $-10^{\circ}C,\;0^{\circ}C$, room temperature and $37^{\circ}C$ for a month. Then its stability and safety were tested. Results : The physiological activities function of the normal skin softener was almost same with the electron donating ability, SOD like activity and xanthine oxidase inhibitory effect of Folium Perillae extracts. To find the changes of emollient lotion containing Folium Perillae extracts, the emollient lotion was left under the condition of $-10^{\circ}C,\;0^{\circ}C$, room temperature and $37^{\circ}C$ for a month. Then, when the emollient lotion was observed with the naked eye, pH, viscosity and particle diameter were measured, its changes were not nearly found. Futhermore, as a result of doing patch test to identify the safety of emollient lotion containing Folium Perillae extracts, there was no stimulus on skin. Conclusions : From the above results, it was expected that the physiological activities of Folium Perillae extracts can be maintained when cosmetics containing Folium Perillae extracts are manufactured. And it was proved that Folium Perillae extracts didn't affect the change of cosmetic when they were applied to cosmetic materials. And it was concluded that emollient lotion containing Folium Perillae extracts was safe for skin.

By studying bioactivity in the aspect of skin care via curcumin, the main component of turmeric, and isoflavones, the soybean extract, this research tried to prove the possibilities as cosmetic ingredients. This research identified the curcumin and soybean extract's anti-inflammatory and toxic effects on skin cells through cell experiment, and using HPLC, the moisture, oiliness, and changes in erythema were measured when the soybean extract was applied to the skin. The result showed that curcumin had the least toxin on RAW 264.7 cell and the anti-inflammatory effect was identified. There were statistically significant changes on the moisture, oiliness and erythema when cosmetics containing curcumin and soybean extract were used. Therefore, it showed the possibilities of the utilization of curcumin and soybean extract to be used as cosmetics for acne skin.
