Study on the Effective Solution of Obstacle Avoidance Strategy for a Mobile Robot in the Guideline Navigation

  • Obstacle avoidance is a basic skill to make a mobile robot move effectively and safely even in any arbitrarily given environment. Because of the difficulty of self-location caused by unavoidable slip and drift errors of sensors and effective detection of any encountered obstacle, only finite and simple obstacle avoidance strategies can be carried out. In this paper we mainly explored how to make a robot perform effectively obstacle detection and avoidance in the guideline navigation with one CCD video camera and some supersonic sensors. Making use of the specially designed guideline, the detection and calculation of the geometric dimensions of the encountered obstacle became simpler. And possible avoidance strategies appropriate to our navigation were studied and the simulations results were given.

Obstacle Avoidance Using Velocity Dipole Field Method

  • The velocity dipole field method is presented for real-time collision avoidance of mobile robots. The direction of motion of the obstacle is used as the axis of the dipole field, and the speed of the obstacle is used to proportionally strengthen the dipole field. The elliptical field lines of the dipole field are useful to skillfully guide the robot around obstacles, quite similar to the way humans avoid moving obstacles. Field modulation coefficient is also introduced to weaken the field effect as the obstacle recedes. The real-time algorithm of the velocity dipole field has been devised and experimentally tested on the robot soccer test-bed. The results show the capability of the new real-time collision avoidance strategy and how it can overcome the weaknesses in the conventional potential field method. The new method makes an explicit and proactive action of collision avoidance, unlike the conventional method, which forces the robot merely away from the obstacle aimlessly. The proposed method delivers greater capability with no considerable computational overhead

또래지지와 대인관계 갈등 대처방법 및 사회적 기술과의 관계 (Relationship between Peer Support, Coping Strategies and Social Skills)

  • This study explored the relationship between peer support, strategies used to cope with interpersonal stressors, and social skills among 4th and 5th graders. Instruments were the Social Support Appraisal Scale, the Self-Report Coping Scale, and the Teenage Inventory of Social Skills. Results showed that children used different coping strategies by the level of peer support. Children with more peer support were more active in seeking social support and in solving peer conflict. Children with more problems in peer relationships used more avoidance strategies such as internalization and externalization. Children with a high level of social skills were more likely to use approach strategies in peer conflict while children with a low level of social skills were more likely to employ avoidance strategies. Internalization was the most important strategy in explaining inappropriate peer relationships. For girls, social skill was the most essential variable in their peer relationships.

Ship's Collision Avoidance Support System Using Fuzzy-CBR

  • Ship's collision avoidance is a skill that masters of merchant marine vessels have acquired through years of experience and that makes them feel at ease to guide their ship out from danger quickly compared to inexperienced officers. Case based reasoning (CBR) uses the same technique in solving tasks that needs reference from variety of situations. CBR can render decision-making easier by retrieving past solutions from situations that are similar to the one at hand and make necessary adjustments in order to adapt them. In this paper, we propose to utilize the advantages of CBR in a support system for ship's collision avoidance while using fuzzy algorithm for its retrieval of similar navigational situations, stored in the casebase, thus avoiding the cumbersome tasks of creating a new solution each time a new situation is encountered. There will be two levels within the Fuzzy-CBR. The first level will identify the dangerous ships and infer the new case. The second level will retrieve cases from casebase and adapt the solution to solve for the output. While CBR's accuracy depends on the efficient retrieval of possible solutions to be adapted from stored cases, fuzzy algorithm will improve the effectiveness of solving the similarity to a new case at hand.

  • 무선 센서망은 망의 사용목적에 따라 빛, 온도, 진동, 자기 영역, 바람 등을 감지 할 수 있는 센서와 컴퓨팅 기술로 통합된다. 무선 노드들은 센서에서 감지된 정보를 처리하는 신호 처리 기술과 측정자에게 정보가 도달하게 하는 통신 제어 기술과, 무선으로 구동되고 배터리를 사용하기 때문에 발생하는 제한적 에너지 관리 기술이 구현된다. 그 중 신뢰성 있는 측정 및 감지를 하고자 한다면 망의 지속시간의 비중이 크기 때문에 효율적인 에너지 관리 기술이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 하드웨어에서의 전원관리가 아닌 OSI 7계층 중 데이터 링크 계층에 해당하는 MAC(Medium Access Control)에서 기존의 무선 MAC 프로토콜인 CSMA/CA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance)과 무선 센서 MAC 프로토콜인 ER-MAC(Energy Rate Medium Access Control)에 대해 설명후 각각 프로토콜에 따른 망의 지속시간을 비교하여 효율성을 분석한다.

비행교관의 커뮤니케이션 스타일이 학생조종사의 학습동기와 학업만족에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Flight Instructor's Communication Styles on Student Pilot's Learning Motives and Satisfactions)

  • This study was carried out to verify how much instructor's communication skill affects the student pilot's study motivation and satisfaction. The instructor's communication styles are classified into 3 groups by pre-analysis. Three types are cooperative type, control type and professional type. Intellectual cause, performance proficiency cause, social cause and stimulation avoidance cause are extracted and analyzed for the cause of study motivation. Cooperative and control type affected all of 4 factors of student's study motivation by influence analysis. Intellectual cause affected control and cooperative type positively, especially more to cooperative type. Performance proficiency cause also had positive influence to control and cooperative type. Stimulation avoidance cause didn't appear to affect all sub-classified 4 factors of instructor's communication type. Influence analysis of student's study satisfaction from instructor's communication style showed that independent variable affected all sub factors positively. Degree of positive influence affected the control type the most, cooperative type was the 2nd, and professional type was the 3rd.

Study on Application of Real Time AIS Information

  • Now AIS (Automatic Identification System) has been under full operation for ocean-going vessels, and it is expected not only to identify target ships but also to take collision avoidance using AIS information with Radar and ARFA information in restricted waters. AIS information is very useful not only for target identifications but also for taking collision avoidance, but OOW (Officer OF Watch-keeping) should take care of systematic observation of AIS because of miss-operation or malfunction of AIS. In this paper, we propose the application of Onboard Ship Handling Simulator with visual system displayed 3D scene added AIS performance such as blind areas of Island, microwave propagation, ok. and maneuvering simulation using TK models, applied real time AIS information and research the effectiveness of this system for ship handling in restricted waters, and discus the principal issues through the on board experiments. Conclusion will be expected that; 1) systematic observation of ASS information using visual scene simulator with AIS information will be effectively done, 2) observation compared with Radar and ARPA information will be also useful to make a systematic observation, 3) using the recording and replay function of simulation will be useful not only for systematic observation but also to measure and to encourage officers' skill.

대학생들의 취업스트레스와 회피대처방식의 융복합적인 관련성 (The Complex relationship between employment stress and avoidance coping styles for college students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 취업 스트레스와 스트레스 대처방식과의 관계를 확인하고자 일대학교의 학생 314명을 대상으로 2018년 05월 02일부터 05월 28일까지 자가기입식 설문지를 이용하여 조사하였다. 취업스트레스의 하위변수 중 성격 스트레스, 가족환경 스트레스, 학업 스트레스, 학교환경 스트레스는 정서중심적 대처방식과 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있었고, 취업불안 스트레스는 사회적 지지추구와 정서중심적 대처방식과 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 대학생들의 정서중심적 스트레스 대처방식은 우울 같은 정서와 신체상의 건강 문제와 관련이 있으므로 심리지원서비스를 통한 조기 발견과 이의 대처에 관한 심리치료 프로그램 및 교육, 특강, 캠프 등의 혼합 서비스 제공이 필요하다. 또한 정서중심적 대처방식에서 문제해결 중심으로 전환하기 위한 전략적 행동 기술훈련(계획,방법,기술)이 필요하다고 생각된다.

여자 간호대학생의 친밀한 신체간호에 대한 인식 (Subjectivity of Female Nursing Student Providing Intimate Care to Patient)

  • Nursing students are often embarrassed about offering an intimate care to patients in a clinical environment, and experience stress. In particular, nursing students is often a low level of interaction skill and nursing school has no education program for this intimate care. Therefore, these difficulties are increased while the clinical practice. The purpose of this study was to identify the attitude of female nursing students regarding intimate care to patient and the characteristics of the type by applying Q-methodology, and to create the basic data for the development of education programs for nursing student to prevent stress and embarrassed feeling. Data were collected by applying 35 Q statements to 32 female nursing students. Collected data were analyzed with the PC QUANL program. Results indicate that female nursing students' attitudes of intimate care were divided into four types: 'considering situation-professional obligation type' 'gender related risk avoidance type' 'transcendent professional care type' and 'pursuit of the ideal professional type.' The types of female nursing students' attitudes of intimate care to patient were discussed, focusing on the attitude type identified in this study.
