In last 30 years, mathematical tangle theory is applied to molecular biology, especially to DNA topology. The recent issues and research results of this topic are reviewed in this paper. We introduce a tangle which models an enzyme-DNA complex. The studies of 2-string tangle equations related to Topoisomerase II action and site-specific recombination is discussed. And 3-string tangle analysis of Mu-DNA complex, n-string tangle analysis ($n{\geq}4$) of DNA-enzyme synaptic complexes are also discussed.

In an effort to increase effective action of enkephalins, several peptide inhibitors of enkephalin aminopeptidase have been synthesized. The peptides contain 3-amino-2-hydroxy amino acid as a zinc binding site and side chains of substrate pattern. The peptides were synthesized in solution by chain elongation from C-terminal end using DCC/HOBt as coupling reagent. The peptides are shown to have very strong inhibitory activity against enkephalin aminopeptidase.

SMRT(Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation) changed PC-oriented office system to Smart-Phone oriented mobile office system(STnF: SMRT Talk & Flash), and provided smart phone to all staffs. STnF make it possible not only voice communication between staff, but also to input and inquiry all kind of information related to work(ex: Facility maintenance, Rolling Stock management, office management, Finance, human resource etc.) based on smart phone. STnF conquers the limitation of time and space. All staffs can commute to the site directly to reduce moving time and to share information between staffs, so SMRT improve speed and reliability of work by making a quick decision and action on the spot. After introduction of STnF, within 1 year, the equipment failure ratio fell to 47%. Mobile office system reduced and level-off the step of approval. so enhanced civil customer service. Quantification and scientific movement of work make it fast evolution and development. These business improvement make it possible to put more outstanding manpower on new business and R&D project, and this contributes to company's management effectiveness.

This paper describes preventive control for transient stability. Preventive control encompasses in general a twofold problem : Severity assessment of a instability originating from the occurrence of a dangerous contingency, and Choice of an action able to stabilize it. In this paper we assess contingencies in a power systems using PASF(Power Angle Shape Filtering) and control power systems by a generation rescheduling. The proposed method is applied to prevent loss of synchronism of all the generators at a site, KEPCO Systems.

This paper deals with HVDC simulation. And the purpose of this paper is to reproduce measurements recorded at HVDC site and to verify the control gains and control actions. In this paper, the target of simulation study is Cheju-Haenam HVDC system. Because Cheju-Haenam HVDC system include analogue controller and digital controller, the detailed digital model considered nonlinear characteristics of analogue controllers is development for high accurate firing and control action. Finally the simulation results which is simulated by PSCAD/EMTDC is compared with measurement signals.

To know whether pyrazosulfuron-ethyl(PYR) and imazaquin(IMA), known as a acetolactate synthase(ALS) inhibitors, have a same herbicidal action pattern in rice(Oryza sativa) or barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli), an inhibition pattern and a response characteristics in combination with dymron or butachlor were investigated. In contrast to the phytotoxicity of rice treated with IMA, the one treated with PYR was completely tended to be recovered after 25 days after treatment. Safening effect of dymron against PYR was effectively developed to transplanted-rice, while such an effect was not shown in combination with IMA. In combination with PYR and butachlor, antagonistic effect was observed in both simultaneous or sequential treatment on bamyardgrass, however, additive effect was rather shown in combination with IMA and its activity was dominantly dependent on the first applied compound. $I_{50}$ of PYR and IMA on the ALS extracted from barnyardgrass was $4{\times}10^{-7}$M and $2.8{\times}10^{-6})$M, respectively. Butachlor did not affect their activities on ALS in vitro. These results suggest that PYR and IMA might have a different action each other in the pathway to a final herbicidal activity even though their primary action site is ALS.

Although the Internet has been a important communication tool in modern societies, researchers did not pay attention to its' positive impacts on individual's psychological process. The Internet provides users with a unique environment such as visual isolation, non face-to-face communication, and easiness to escape from social influences. This environment enables people to take free action according to their personality and disclose themselves. The findings indicate that individuals' social use of the Internet may reflect their personality. To fill the research void like this, this study proposes a new research model in which well bing as well as perceived value are positively linked to satisfaction and continuance to use. The statistical results obtained by applying PLS to the valid 150 questionnaires showed that the well bing has stronger positive influence on satisfaction and continuance to use. Therefore, a practical implication is suggested that the web site need to be designed in a way of arousing users' well bing more strongly.

Assuring physical security for Micro Modular Reactors (MMRs) will be key to their licensing. Economic constraints however require changes in how the security objectives are achieved for MMRs. A promising new approach is the so-called performance based (PB) approach wherein the regulator formally sets general security objectives and leaves it to the licensee to set their own specific acceptance criteria to meet those objectives. To implement the PB approach for MMRs, one performs a consequence-based analysis (CBA) whose objective is to study hypothetical malicious attacks on the facility, assuming that intruders take control of the facility and perform any technically possible action within a limited time before an offsite security force can respond. The scenario leading to the most severe radiological consequences is selected and studied to estimate the limiting impact on public health. The CBA estimates the total amount of radionuclides that would be released to the atmosphere in this hypothetical scenario to determine the total radiation dose to which the public would be exposed. The predicted radiation exposure dose is then compared to the regulatory dose limit for the site. This paper describes application of the CBA to four different MMRs technologies.

남미산 흡혈박쥐구esmodus rohndusl의 서열관계에 대해 자연상태와 유사한 조건하에서 사육상태의 집단을 연구하였다. 이들의 서열은 먹이장소에서 2마리의 성체들이 만났을때 4가지로 서로 다른 행동들(도망가기, 날아가기, 기다리기, 피하기)에 의해 결정했다. 공격행동(싸움후 도망가기)은 관찰된 전체행동들 가운데 16호로 비교적 적게 나타났다. 암컷들의 서열은 일부 먹이 서열에 의해서도 반영되었다. Harem수컷은 non-harem수컷들에 대해서 우위를 차지하였으며 열세 행동을 보여 주었다. 그러나 이 harem 수컷은 그의 성적 파트너에 대해서는 공격행동을 보이지 않았다. Dominance relationship was investigated in a captive of Desmodus rotundus, a neotopical sangivorous bat, under seminaturalistic conditions. The hierarchy was determined from four different behaviors (flee, fly-out, avoid, wait) by the encounter of ho adult bats on the feeding site. The aggressive action (flee after fighting) was relatively low (16%) compare to the other three observed behaviors. The hierarchy of the females reflected sometimes in the feeding order The harem male dominated the non-harem males and exhibited his territorial behavior. However, to his sex partners he didn't show aggressions.
